  • In the natural hair community, we often stress the importance of moisturizing natural hair. However, protein treatments are just as important in not only maintaining the moisture protein balance in our hair, but growing long, healthy hair. In this video, I share the details on protein treatments, while also battling/comparing four treatments currently on the market. HOPE THIS HELPS!

    Love the mielle deep conditioner- that is my favorite. Camille rose stylers work best for me- I haven’t been blown away by any of their shampoos, conditioners (leave-in or deep) but those stylers like the twisting almond jai or the butter gel and the fresh curl hair smoother are good. She scent it overwhelms me - I want to try their products but similar to soultanicals - idk what products to start with.

    YES you always come with the knowledge! 💡👩🏿‍🏫Also ps I feel like you came at the right time. I was looking up Protien treatments and I just got the apogee 2 minute keratin one. (I had a coupon from sallies) I am someone who steers from silicones and mineral oils but I only heard great things about that product. (A little silicones wont hurt me)
    BUT if I could have gotten the she scent it one I would have! I love her products! And okra is such a slept on ingredient! The slip is amazing and you can make a gel with it. Soultanicals SlipNSlide leave in has okra in it!💙
    But one of my favorite protien treatments is the anti breakage yucca and plantain hair masque by sheamoisture. That mask is 8.00-10.00 bucks from Walmart and it has amazing slip (that BTMS😎) and literally after one use you can FEEL the strength after ONE use! My hair felt resilient but also moisturized. It has 3 proteins and 2 strengtheners in addition also sheamoisture said it's made for us low porosity curlies!
    Right now I'm gonna use the magical molasses DC by Soultanicals in the mean time. It's another favorite! Molasses is good for strengthening and the DC has Algae and Baobab Protien as well.

    • @SheReaDelSol
      @SheReaDelSol  5 років тому +1

      I didn't like that Soultanicals product. Didn't know it had okra in it. Also, that yucca DC is great. Not sure I would call it a protein treatment, but it sure is good.
      I haven't use the molasses DC in yearsssss. TOO MANY PRODUCTS!

      @@SheReaDelSol I love that yucca mask! Either way my hair felt immediately stronger it was crazy! And gurl that SlipNSlide is the truth send it to me lol! I love it Ms.Ayo did that!!

      Dee Scott Hi I haven’t had moisture overload since that time because I do rotate my deep conditioners. I go between moisture and protein every week to every two weeks.I know everyone is different but a consistent routine really helps me. Just in case you’d like to know favorite deep conditioners are the TGIN honey miracle, the TGIN miracle Repairx curl protein reconstructor, and the Camille Rose Buriti nectar repair cholesterol treatment. As for stylers I keep it very simple and consistent I use the Camille Rose curl love moisture mike as my leave in/ cream moisturizer and I go between the Camille Rose jelly and the kinky curly custard.

    Is the Aphogee Curlific texture treatment considered a protein treatment??
    I tried the Aphogee 2 step protein treatment once and it broke my hair off so I’m not sure if it was too harsh for my hair or what, but I have used their texture treatment and I loved the way it made my hair feel and smell, but I wasn’t sure if it that was considered a protein treatment or not

    I didnt know i needed to incorporate protein treatments into my hair regime until a few months ago! So I bought the massive 33oz ORS replenishing conditioner (not the new recipe with sweet orange oil) and that saved my hair, it has hydrolysed collagen. I only need a light treatments (for now) as I have low porosity, thick strands and med to high density.
    I was wondering for awhile why it felt mushy whenever I washed it and overly stretched when I was combing through my hair.
