- Опубліковано 12 вер 2024
- In the natural hair community, we often stress the importance of moisturizing natural hair. However, protein treatments are just as important in not only maintaining the moisture protein balance in our hair, but growing long, healthy hair. In this video, I share the details on protein treatments, while also battling/comparing four treatments currently on the market. HOPE THIS HELPS!

One of the biggest mistakes I made with my low porosity natural hair was staying aware from protein.
Sis same :/
You deserve a reward for pronouncing all those ingredients! Great information!
LOL I told y'all I can read
@@SheReaDelSol hey sis it BF!! I was checking your community page for BF sales. I’ve subscribed to SheScentIt but please give me a heads up once that start their Black Friday sale. I’m gonna get that reconstructive treatment. Love ya Happy Thanksgiving 🥰

Moisture overload?🌊
I don't know her
I said the same thing when I saw the video....I would love to maintain moisture 🤣
ii Marquise ii ii Marquise ii I’ve met her. She’s very mushy!
kalena Glory how did you get rid of her because she’s with me now
*Mayo is for sandwiches...mayo is eggs and eggs are for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner.*
Lol
I dried my hair out so bad using the wrong products that I had to do a moisture overload. But thank God aphogee G was there to save me
Factsssss
I so love Camille rose protein treatment 💚💚
womp womp lol
Me too!
AS A BIO MAJOR I WAS LIKE YAAAASSSS GIRL!!! GOOD INFO!!!
I’m glad I came to this video. It let me know I have everything I already need in my stash. High porosity here and I use light protein weekly (this video was like a mom to me, you have what you need. Why are you trying to buy more). I have the Mielle and Aphogee 2 step and 2 minute.
Girl you said low porosity find strands and medium density… Let me go on ahead and subscribe to you because you’re saving a life right now
Welcome!
Currently suffering from moisture overload! Thanks for the video 😩
Who gave the thumbs down?!?!?!
Like, why????
I definitely like the Aphogee 2-step. I use it in a spray bottle too and wear my salon cape to reduce the sticky mess.
Yessss I'm here for it!! Give us that Knowledge Sis.💜💃🏾🙋🏾♀️ I do a protein treatment once a month and deep condition every week is that good? I'm 2 month's into being Natural.
Yup if it's working for you, keep at it
Love the mielle deep conditioner- that is my favorite. Camille rose stylers work best for me- I haven’t been blown away by any of their shampoos, conditioners (leave-in or deep) but those stylers like the twisting almond jai or the butter gel and the fresh curl hair smoother are good. She scent it overwhelms me - I want to try their products but similar to soultanicals - idk what products to start with.
I love aphogee! It saves my hair. Great video! Thanks for sharing
YES you always come with the knowledge! 💡👩🏿🏫Also ps I feel like you came at the right time. I was looking up Protien treatments and I just got the apogee 2 minute keratin one. (I had a coupon from sallies) I am someone who steers from silicones and mineral oils but I only heard great things about that product. (A little silicones wont hurt me)
BUT if I could have gotten the she scent it one I would have! I love her products! And okra is such a slept on ingredient! The slip is amazing and you can make a gel with it. Soultanicals SlipNSlide leave in has okra in it!💙
But one of my favorite protien treatments is the anti breakage yucca and plantain hair masque by sheamoisture. That mask is 8.00-10.00 bucks from Walmart and it has amazing slip (that BTMS😎) and literally after one use you can FEEL the strength after ONE use! My hair felt resilient but also moisturized. It has 3 proteins and 2 strengtheners in addition also sheamoisture said it's made for us low porosity curlies!
Right now I'm gonna use the magical molasses DC by Soultanicals in the mean time. It's another favorite! Molasses is good for strengthening and the DC has Algae and Baobab Protien as well.
I didn't like that Soultanicals product. Didn't know it had okra in it. Also, that yucca DC is great. Not sure I would call it a protein treatment, but it sure is good.
I haven't use the molasses DC in yearsssss. TOO MANY PRODUCTS!
@@SheReaDelSol I love that yucca mask! Either way my hair felt immediately stronger it was crazy! And gurl that SlipNSlide is the truth send it to me lol! I love it Ms.Ayo did that!!
But I need to go through some of my other DC's lol! I just made a care package for a women's shelter and gave some products away to friends and family!
Protein treatments aren’t really supposed to have slip so they shouldn’t be judged by their slip
Light protein treatment have conditioning agents, therefore have slip
You’re so calm and unbothered applying all those different proteins to your hair!
I have the Shescentit Okra. I like it.
I do a protein treatment once a month. Very informative and helpful video!! ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the breakdown! I will most definitely try She scent it now. I've been eyeing them for a while but with so many options out there I never fully committed to the checkout process.
F.M. Designz has come in the same place in my
I finaly realize tbat i need protein in my life my hair is breaking off a lot i have low prorosity hair thank you for this video 💖💖💖
Hey Curl Friend, I know Curls Blueberry Bliss line has that Quinoa Protein!
I need to try that line, ASAP
@@SheReaDelSol yes try it. I love it. It gives me a nice protein moisture balance but it seems to be moisturizing for other people
Great video. I have 3/4 products you used. Have you ever tried Curl Junkie Repair Me? I like it, though it’s pricey.
After suffering from moisture overload I did 4 protein treatments straight in one month and my hair back to normal 🤷🏾♀️
Amazing!
Did you do a aphrogee protein treatment every week
Pleaseeeee tell me what you did your steps and all I need to know
I need to know what you did also girl I'm in the same predicament. Help me sis @Morphee Reservation
Thanks for this video! It seems like you worked hard on this so thank you. I have been looking for a new protein treatment!
Thanks for noticing
“I know scent is important for some of you, and some of y’all don’t give a damnnn about it” 😂😂😂 I feel you. I used to care, but now Chile, bring on the results.
Lol!
Very detailed and I love that you can personally explain your experience and process. 😍 thank you for your help
No problem hon
You sold me on finally trying the Mielle dc even tho it smells like mint and I'm not a fan. But the shampoo is my staple so I might as well😂😁
it's greattt
Very nice and detailed!
Thanks!
You have so many videos. Can you post the video for the aphogee protein treatment you did?
I had moisture overload at one point. My hair was super soft to the point where when ever I washed my hair it would be stretchy and mushy to the point where it felt like the strands were going to snap.
Are you the mend?
It’s definitely better now since I’ve been doing light protein treatments and rotting my products.
Hey how is your hair did the protein treatment work because I have moisture overload also
Dee Scott Hi I haven’t had moisture overload since that time because I do rotate my deep conditioners. I go between moisture and protein every week to every two weeks.I know everyone is different but a consistent routine really helps me. Just in case you’d like to know favorite deep conditioners are the TGIN honey miracle, the TGIN miracle Repairx curl protein reconstructor, and the Camille Rose Buriti nectar repair cholesterol treatment. As for stylers I keep it very simple and consistent I use the Camille Rose curl love moisture mike as my leave in/ cream moisturizer and I go between the Camille Rose jelly and the kinky curly custard.
BlueLily188 Gonna try the tgin this weekend . Thanks
Is the Aphogee Curlific texture treatment considered a protein treatment??
I tried the Aphogee 2 step protein treatment once and it broke my hair off so I’m not sure if it was too harsh for my hair or what, but I have used their texture treatment and I loved the way it made my hair feel and smell, but I wasn’t sure if it that was considered a protein treatment or not
I didnt know i needed to incorporate protein treatments into my hair regime until a few months ago! So I bought the massive 33oz ORS replenishing conditioner (not the new recipe with sweet orange oil) and that saved my hair, it has hydrolysed collagen. I only need a light treatments (for now) as I have low porosity, thick strands and med to high density.
I was wondering for awhile why it felt mushy whenever I washed it and overly stretched when I was combing through my hair.
Hair twins!!!!! 👯 I do need more protein 😩 Thanks for the video ❤️
You're welcome!
This video is amazing!!!! 😫🙌🏽
Thank ya!
From the positioning of most of these protein ingredients, I won't say they are serious protein treatments!...
At least, a protein should find itself at the first 5 ingredients.
Thanks for the helpful video! 💜
Thanks for watching!
YESSSS the BEST wicked witch 😈
This was great! Very informative. Thank you ❤️
You are so welcome
never done a protein treatment before, now im planning on trying one, i was thinking of using rice water!
RW isn't enough of a protein treatment to me
Thanks for mentioning the Prodew500!!
No problem
Thank you for this video. It is so helpful...new subscriber
How often can you use the Aphogee treatment? I used it once but my hair is back to being dry & matted😐
I don't use it as often as I usually do. Probably every 2 months if I did
For high Porosity hair like mine it’s best to use it every other week!
@@Aashley23I’m high porosity and need to use it weekly.
*Hello Queen♥♥♥♥♥I have never tried a protein treatment on my hair. To be honest, I don't know if it's necessary. I just did a major cut for the warm months ahead and I usually wear waves. I may consider a protein treatment just to see what it does. No big deal if it doesn't work for me...it's trial and error and it ain't that serious as long as I'm not waking up bald-headed...LOL!!*
Detailed great presentation
I hate the aphogee and the mielle babassu. They both make my hair dry and strong feeling. The camille rose buritti is on my list. I'm excited to try that.
Let me know how it works for you
@@SheReaDelSol I will
How did it go?
@@Isockay I didnt like it but i think its because it has glycerine and my hair doesn't glyecrin.
Daisy Flower for sure thank you
Would you ever consider trying products from Bel Nouvo?
Can you do a video on heavy protein treatments? Or do you have resources for them?
I have an old video but I plan to do an updated video
She!! When you start sweet-talking ingredients to me like thaaaaat.... Make me wanna go back to college and study chemistry real quick 😂😂😂😂
LOL!!
I followed you because of that haul video lol
Lmao😭🤣🤣🤣 when you said "Low Porosity, fine strands, medium density hair" I was like Oohhh like me😊😊 and then you said " We want booty crack length!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭😭😭 That was Soo funny. You are funny with your reviews, I'm glad I subscribed
LOL! thanks!
First!!!
Hey boo
So it’s okay to leave the aphogee 2 minute treatment for more than 2minutes?
Definitely lol
SheRea DelSol okau good!
SheRea DelSol I just went on their Instagram account and they said that we can leave it in for any amount of time just rinse it out after
I can never detangle my hair with Camille Rose products. 😂
lol
Very informative. Thanks for the review 👍🏾
