Love that your planner is functional. So hard to find functional planner videos. Lot's on using tons of stickers, glitter, etc. Your planner videos are a breath of fresh air. Thank you so much for sharing.
Yes, I agree. This is a planner/bullet journal of a mature woman, with her own life, commitments, plans. Too many cutesy childish bullet journals around, with a lot of fluff and very little substance. To each their own, but I'm a woman, not a teenager, and I need functional first, and then space for creativity for when I feel like it. Thank you for this peek into your life and your excellent journal!
Very cool concept. I love the retro vibe of a Filofax and the versatility and the flexibility of the bujo. I’m migrating at the moment. It’s rather satisfying
Ok I know I’m 5 years late 😂 but this is FABULOUS! After 3 years in an LT bujo, I switched to the Cousin for 2 years, rediscovered rings mid-2020 (after a 20-year hiatus), and then decided to downsize to a Weeks for 2021 (which is how I found your awesome channel). Much to my surprise I discovered I really missed rings (and after only being back in them for 6 months last year), so I’m sort of in both at the moment. But anyway, just had to let you know this is the best Filofax Bujo I’ve seen!
Amazing!!! The love you have for this setup really shines through!!! Thank you for sharing it!!! Very inspiring to see a bujo in a ring binder and GTD too!!! It is perfect!!!
Awesome!! I also use my Filofax as my bullet journal. I used a note book for awhile and it wasn't working. Glad to see someone else using the Ring bound system. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Thanks
As a functional planner who recently finished David Allen's GTD book...I'm so glad I came across your channel & absolutely loved this video!! Hope you create more, I would love to continue to watch! No need to be nervous, you spoke so clearly and didn't waste time, and kept me engaged throughout! You, Carrie Harling, & Alexis Giostra are my Planner idols 💛💛😍
Your video was very helpful. I laughed when you said one life one planner. I wish it was that simple for me. I seem to have a separate planner for everything. Looking at how you use yours it has inspired me to try to combine my setups. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Andrea! Yes, I find if I try to keep more than one then I inevitably need the one I don't have with me... Lol. As it is, I duplicate too many things in the one planner....
Just fantastic organisation. I’ve got my Filofax yesterday and was completely lost. You gave me a vector how to organise it efficiently. Thank you so much. I rewatch the video several times already 😁, looks like it’s an instructions to a journal. Love it!
HI Melanie!! Congratulations on your first Video!! I love those monthly pull out sheets and the way you can open it up and see the week at the same time!! Very cool that it has tracking too. I really like those blocks on the weekly spreads that look like tracking blocks. Your planner is so Pretty AND functional. Lots of inspiration. Hope you'll keep up the videos... Great Share!
Hey! Your videos are awesome. I've been toying with the idea of moving my bullet journal into a Filofax and you inspired me. It's really nice to see someone who actually uses a filofax as mainly functional! I really hope you can do more videos. Would really love to see an updated flip through. My favourite thing from your planning is the meeting/phone call agenda sheet - I'm using that too!
I've watched lots of planner vids. This is definitely one of my faves ! There are ideas here I actually use. In fact, I set up my own planner similar to this.
I keep watching this video because there is so much good information here. I went back to my personal ring binder after seeing this and it is working out so well. I'm trying to be in one book for work and personal plus my side business. I need to keep it simple yet organized. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks Anne! Yes, simplicity is key. Occasionally I will notice that I'm overdoing something and need to scale back. If it doesn't help you, get rid of it. :) I appreciate your comment - thanks for watching!!
I am new to the whole bujo community and originally started following Cara over at Boho Berry. You have some great ideas and I love the flexibility of having a bullet journal in a Filofax! Great ideas1 Especially the @Agenda pages! More videos please! Hailing from the UK! Xxx
I absolutely love your setup! Looks very clean, organized and your video is so very helpful. I have purchased so many planners looking for just the right one. The way you have your set up is just as I would like to have mine. Thanks for sharing :-)
Great video! I'm new to planning so seeing how you organize your planner was super helpful. And I need mine to be functional, I'm not as concerned with decorations, so your approach is right up my alley! I'll be looking for more videos, including the one you mentioned in another comment on Bullet journaling. Good luck!! And thank you for making this video & sharing it!
I enjoyed that!!!! My favorite part of your system is the review card you made- that would really keep me on track. I love the original and how you merged it all together! Thanks for sharing. The 80/20 style! Yes I totally get it, I'm about 95/5 with 1000percent of deco items...LOL
Thank you so much for your comment, I'm not sure why UA-cam grabbed it; sorry I just saw it! :) Thank YOU for watching! Did you make a little checklist card for yourself?
Absolutely loved the vid!! Watched it twice & subbed. 😄😄😄 I'm new to bullet journaling. I loved the "one life one planner" part. I feel off from tracking trying to be 2 places at once...one book for personal & one for business. You did an AWESOME job & look forward to seeing more. 😄
Really enjoyed this video! Just spent so long looking for ideas and getting 1 min into videos and not watching until the end, watched til the end and have loads of ideas thank you !!
I love this video! I think I have the same front cover in my personal size planner too! I really like your style as I feel it relates to me and my style. I would like to incorporate some bullet journal style in my planners and notebooks and I really like how your set up is. Great job!! Thank for sharing and the inspiration:)
Irina Maria Tracy Awe thank you! I know, I'm due for a new video... we're getting ready to move so been hectic. I will try to get a new one in soon! Any requests?
I am new to planning so everything you post is highly appreciated especially since I am the "alpha-male" of the house and I have a lot of stuff to keep an eye on and I was very happy to see a video that simplifies everything so...I definitely have something to learn out of all your videos and I am sure I will continue doing so no matter what you talk about. :)
I'm new to this but i have been a planner for the longest time and I LOVE you!! the one life on journal statement is absolutely TRUE!!! Love it!! any more tips please share!!!
I'd have never known that this was your first video and that you were nervous if you hadn't said it. Awesome job on the video! And I really like your planner set up. I'm just now trying to make my own planner and will be stealing some of your ideas, if you don't mind. lol I've subscribed and will be checking out your channel, hoping for more videos!
Thank you so much for this video! I've always kind of felt like an imposter in the BuJo community because I still have my Kikki-k planner. I really love how your monthly page pulls out and the weekly goes on top. I'd love to see some more detail about what you put in your BuJo section and how it differs from what's on your weekly pages.
Thanks Sherri! I literally just uploaded a Bullet Journal video of planning my day. I don't think it's as coherent as this one was; but hopefully something in there is useful. :)
Great video!! I've been wanting to downsize to a personal size ,but didn't know where to begin! You have awesome ideas that are all so functional! Please let me know where you found the "fold-out" monthly calendar? That is EXACTLY what I am looking for just for the monthly spread since I need more writing space. I recall you mentioned it but couldn't quite pick up the name! Thanks in advance for your help and looking forward to another vlog!
One of the best planning videos I've seen, so glad you made it! I'm sure I'll be watching it again to implement your system into mine. I need more functional and I love your setup. What pens do you use in all the different colors? Please keep making more videos - I'm subbing! TFS!
Hi! Thank you so much! :). I use Pilot FriXion pens in 0.7 for most stuff that you might "pencil" in... i.e. Things that could change... Because they are erasable. I also have a 0.4 *five-color* Coleto pen that I am really loving! It's such a fine point, and my writing can be small... So it's perfect for personal size... And is super smooth on the paper! :). Hope that helps!
mjad11 hi there! Sorry for delayed response... it's a six hole punch I found on Amazon... by Rapesco. I think I searched for personal Filofax hole punch. Not overly expensive but works great!! As for the font; I think I link it in the description of one of my videos. It's a free download called "Pea Marley". It's one of my favorites!! I think the website was Kevin & Amanda?
Montaubrey ouch!!! I don't know how I missed this. I'm sorry!! If you're seeing this - monthly I use for big picture, events, appointments etc. things that could effect my scheduling. Weekly gets a bit more granular, including important upcoming day sensitive tasks, daily is way more specific. Think boulders, rocks & sand. There is some repetition, but usually on things that must not be forgotten. Does that help?
Hello and thank you for your video! Enjoyed. Quick question - how do you archive the months that you remove, do you keep them, throw them out, scan them, etc? (Apologies if this was already asked and answered.)
It's so funny! I have the same pen (Pilot VP Black Carbonesque) and I plan to use it with my duck egg blue Original from spring on. Till then I'll be using my much worn copper one with my burgundy Pilot E95S, a perfect match. I've just bought a pillarbox red for next fall and now I'm torn which pen would look best with it. I was so sure before watching your video. :D Sorry if I'M being nosey but I'd love to know what ink and nib size are you using! Great vid, love the functionality of your planner.
girlydroid I tried some of the fun inks in the cartridge... but found I just love the simple black Pilot refills... low maintenance, solid color, quick dry, no bleed.... (how many 'wins' is that?)
where did you get the clip you used for your this week marker? I think you said the name but I've never heard of it before and couldn't quite make it out.
Oops!!! Did I not respond about paper? Sorry! I use a free download from Ray Blake, link is in the description. I print on what I think is 28lbs printer paper.... I will show / reference the paper more in my next video. :)
Really? That stinks... Do you guys have a "Container Store"? (Apologies for my ignorance)... That store carries them here also... I'm surprised Etsy doesn't ship them there.... :-/
That monthly calendar thing is genius because i always forget to check on it when checking my weekly spreads. Wonder what would be a good paper to use to not be destroyed from the wear and tear but not be too bulky
Hi! I'm from Italy, love your style! I'm sorry if my question will seems a dumb one, but how can I buy and print the images of Holly Nichols? I do not know how Etsy's site works. This one is beautiful. Thank you. :)
Sam80F hi! Not a dumb question. Go to www.etsy.com and look for Holly's store. Pick the print and add to cart. The print is mailed to you as a 5x7 cardstock. Does that help?
Oh, thanks a lot for your answer and kind explanation. It helps, thank you! :D I will try for sure! Just quick questions: 5x7 are inches? So Holly Nichols sends to buyer's home the items? Thanks!
Hi Melanie, you've experienced both hardcovered notebook and the filofax System... Which one do you like most? Would you do a video explaining the major points on why you use one or another in any specific time of your life? I love your videos, awesome job!
I don't know when I've enjoyed a first video so much! Truly, a functional setup, some really brilliant hacks, and a lovely quirky personality (yours, not the planner!). Can't wait to see more videos! Are you on Instagram? Subscribing here now!
In the video I am using an "American Crafts Slick Writer"... But I'd recommend just a Extra fine point Sharpie marker instead. Cheaper, easier to find, and does just as good of a job.... :)
Bonjour ou peu ton trouver les recharges pour les filofax. ? Je pensais dans les leclerc culture rayon loisirs creatif .en tout cas votre filofax es super bien
Love that your planner is functional. So hard to find functional planner videos. Lot's on using tons of stickers, glitter, etc. Your planner videos are a breath of fresh air. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thanks!! I posted a pic of a Key on my IG account. @melliesm1th. Hope it helps!
Alphabet Dating! Love that concept! And yes, love your set up too. Thanks for sharing
Super fun idea, right?!
Great job, loved your video.
Wow!! Love this! Can I ask what you do with the pages as you take them out?
Thanks!! Right now I just have them clipped together. I have an idea for an archive binder, just need to try it out. :)
How do you make your dividers out of impressions ? It looks great !
GameMoni hi! Sorry for super delayed response. I just cut down cardstock paper I got at Michael's and added a tab with a punch I got on Amazon.
Don't be nervous. You did great!!!
Awe! Thanks!!! :)
Great video!!! keep 'em coming!!!
do you have different tasks...in your monthly tracker and weekly tracker ???
❤️ love the video. Your dashboard that you bought what size is the picture?
Rebecca Duggan it was one of her 5x7 prints that I cut down to Personal Size. :)
what hole puncher do you use? and also what font is it you used for your weekly monthly review that was laminated? thanks. and I loved this video 😀
mjad11 hi there!
Hi, love the set up. On the lady dash board did you cut it down or print it?
jackie perkins hi there! It is a 5x7 print suitable for framing - that I trimmed to fit... I think I logged her shop in the description... :)
I love it! Can you please address how the monthly, weekly, and daily bullet journal differ and are not repetitive (in your case). Thanks!
@@Addicted2Planning Boulders, rocks, & sand...love this!
Hello and thank you for your video! Enjoyed. Quick question - how do you archive the months that you remove, do you keep them, throw them out, scan them, etc? (Apologies if this was already asked and answered.)
mitzibella100 hi! Thank you! I archive them... I pull them out and keep them together with those loose binder rings. Last year filled a 1.5" ring!
Great vid, love the functionality of your planner.
girlydroid nice match!!!
What do you have your VP inked up with? Just curious. :)
girlydroid I tried some of the fun inks in the cartridge... but found I just love the simple black Pilot refills... low maintenance, solid color, quick dry, no bleed.... (how many 'wins' is that?)
where did you get the clip you used for your this week marker? I think you said the name but I've never heard of it before and couldn't quite make it out.
nichole d hi! Sorry for my delayed response. It's an OliClip. They are sold on Etsy by OLIBLOCK. www.etsy.com/shop/OLIBLOCK
Great video! Lots of awesome ideas, thank you :)
First, you did great! I would love to see/hear more about your bullet journal section. What grid paper did you use? Thanks and I hope to see more!
Thanks Meredith! I have been prepping for a Bullet Journal video and hope do film it in the next day or so. :). I appreciate your kind words!
Oops!!! Did I not respond about paper? Sorry! I use a free download from Ray Blake, link is in the description. I print on what I think is 28lbs printer paper.... I will show / reference the paper more in my next video. :)
I absolutely love the "I have one life, one planner" comment 😍
Lol, thanks!! I’m sure it’s offensive to some, but to each their own... we all gotta do what works for us! 😀
Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed your video and got quite a few ideas for my PlanAhead 6 ring mini.
looooove your full setup. want to copy all of it :-)
Lol!! If it's helpful to you... Have at it!! :)

Wow, that was really really REALLY good! So many ideas, imma try them. =D
Yay!! Hope it helps. Thx for watching. :)
great video with dome great ideas. I really want some oli clips but difficult to get in UK. x
Really? That stinks... Do you guys have a "Container Store"? (Apologies for my ignorance)... That store carries them here also... I'm surprised Etsy doesn't ship them there.... :-/
They do. But with is around £38 with postage for 5 clips! Etsy is around £18. X
+Kate Rigby If you join this FB group you can get them in the UK for a reasonable price facebook.com/groups/725737600815633/?fref=ts
Ah thanks for that x
That monthly calendar thing is genius because i always forget to check on it when checking my weekly spreads. Wonder what would be a good paper to use to not be destroyed from the wear and tear but not be too bulky
The fold out one? I used a heavier paper and it always held up!
Thanks!
Sam80F yes, it's 5" across and 7" down. I had to trim it to fit. They are so beautiful... worthy of framing in the house.
Thank you!
I just bought one for me and one for my Mom! :D
You did a fabulous job.. ty so much for sharing all the links to download info. ~k
Hi Melanie, you've experienced both hardcovered notebook and the filofax System... Which one do you like most? Would you do a video explaining the major points on why you use one or another in any specific time of your life? I love your videos, awesome job!
Mari Rosas great video idea!! Adding to the list!! I loved my Filofax; but I’m really enjoying the hard bound book. 😀
I don't know when I've enjoyed a first video so much! Truly, a functional setup, some really brilliant hacks, and a lovely quirky personality (yours, not the planner!). Can't wait to see more videos! Are you on Instagram? Subscribing here now!
Wow!! Thank you for that lovely feedback! You are very kind! :) yes, I am on Instagram:: @melliesm1th. I'll look for you as well. Thanks again!
What font did you use for the routine card you have in back?
Hi Jennifer; it's called Pea Marley & I downloaded it from here: kevinandamanda.com/fonts/fontsforpeas/pea-marley/

This is great! Very helpful. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Great video, keep them coming! :)
Also, sorry, what pens are you using to write on the washi?
In the video I am using an "American Crafts Slick Writer"... But I'd recommend just a Extra fine point Sharpie marker instead. Cheaper, easier to find, and does just as good of a job.... :)
Fab video! Thank you for sharing 😁
