  • Motorized Kayak Modification. A simple mod to my Feel Free Lure 11.5 and I'm set for some serious fishing adventures this season. I'll post a video in the coming days explaining the important details and how incredibly easy this was. If you have a mod that you don't mind sharing to help others get more from their kayak, please throw a pic or some ideas in the comments.

    That kayak is spot on John, be awesome to put into reverse on a good jack or hold position when there is a wind pushing or pulling you away from where you want to cast

      Cheers Steve. It works a treat. I can hold in position against or with the wind and pull back on a fish dragging me around. ;)

    I replicated your mod and it works great. One problem I run into is making sure the prop is aligned when pulling the motor out to come ashore. Have you come up with any ideas to help with that? Thanks for the tips!

      @mylurebox  6 років тому +1

      I get it up and out of the road before mooring. You can on/off till it rests in line or a coat hanger cut into a hook is easy too ;)

    How did you mount the motor to the kayak? I know you're using the sonar pod, but how did you connect it?

      Just replicated this mod and I do find that it tends to want to go in circles a little bit. I still end up paddling to steer. I plan to add a rudder.

      I got one of these for my minn kota 30 lb. and its been working fine. Its a good size to help keep the weight down. a.co/7g9jB7B

      Mate it’s the best. I love it. ;) the motor runs on a 90aH and I’ll get a full day of fishing out of it. No worries

    Great mod mate. Love this setup. I have a raft with electric motor but it’s super heavy...mine goes 7km/h Max with the tide helping and a 54lb motor. What is roughly the top speed with this motor? Thinking of upgrading my setup to something like yours as I find the weight and lack of speed on the raft limits my fishing sessions a bit.... Thanks bud

    • @mylurebox

      I use a 90Ah and get nearly all day. Just on speed 2/3 to move and speed one to fish will sort u for a day ;) you can run a second no worries. With the Lithium option slowly making its way into the market, you will be able to smash it ;) weight becomes the issue at 3 lead acid batteries.

    That's awesome what kind of battery do you use?

    • @mylurebox
      @mylurebox  4 роки тому +1

      I just run a 90aH truck battery. Not a deep cycle but I only run it down slightly. I get em way cheaper than a deep cycle and they generally last me a couple years anyway ;) as long as you Don’t run me down too much they still go ok from my experience.
