This is much cheaper and a way better setup than the pedal drive system. I know virtually nothing about electrical work but I had no problems whatsoever installing this mod. This and the other video posted are fantastic guides, follow them and you can't go wrong!
@@jnewc4130 Hail yeah! I'm really happy I got the 10, it's lighter and so easy to haul around. Plus, the benefit of having a longer kayak is that it tracks better, which doesn't really matter if you don't have to paddle!

Hello . I don’t do fishing . My wife and I love to go to kayak just for fun with our dog . We’d love to have a kayak with pedal drive . Do you think this kayak is too much for us ?
Was the old motor not strong enough? I installed an watersnake 18 on my Lure 11.5 and connected a speed control to it for infinite variability of the motor 5.6 KPH/ 3.5MPH(with the run of tide) has been my max but I feel happy to get that at 18A max amperage. It makes my homemade 35AH Li Ion battery last a full 2 hours going full power. Than I dismantled the head of the trolling motor and installed the forward reverse switch in the front of the sonar pod along with the speed controller which allows me to still install a fishfinder like normal. I might need to install the transducer to the bottom of the motor though. All up I got away with about $ 180.00 aussie dollars to get me mobile
Hey bro. I have a 12 ft PDL DRIVE HYBIRD. Which if I take out my pedals, the 46lb thrust trolling motor fits in the same clips as the PDL DRIVE. So i always have my PDL on board.
