My buddy and I were obsessed with Fast Traxx back in grade school. We'd sit and draw these things in class all day. I wanted one so bad that my uncle would take me to Kmart and Service Merchandise just to look at them. I asked for one for Xmas, my uncle said they were too expensive but as a kid you didn't understand the concept of money. Then one day, I came home from school and found a big box on my bed. The best Xmas gift I ever got from my uncle. I wish I still had it today.
My brother has a orange Fast Traxx and I have a red Bandit and back in the day those things were a blast, back then it seemed like they made good none hobby grade RC cars/trucks but now the ones you see in stores like wal-mart are junk, you have to spend big money and go to a hobby store to get a half decent RC car/truck now...
fast traxx, bandit, hi jacker. those were the days when tyco were making real r/c cars. I remember buggin' the hell out of my mom to get me the fast traxx for christmas but got the hi jacker and it was so f****** fast when fully charged. that brings back memories. thx
i had quite a few RC thru the years and their is one out there in particular that i loved and want to buy it again if i can so my son and i can enjoy it together … i still can’t ID the model of truck it was awesome … Was black with blue windows and it had a special feature were it would it would raise up and the wheels would almost be inline, or too could drive it lower flattened out, was so cool dude… it also had a red button on the controller for a speed boost
I had one, it was the full size one but with the truck body, not that tiny truck they show, it was fun putting fireworks on it with home made lego box's to hold them in at forth of july, man do i miss it. it was the best rc car i had when i was a kid.
Lol I used to draw the Scorcher in class and look at them in stores, I got one for Christmas and I still have it today. ... I forgot about Service Merchandise, that took me back!
I played my Yellow Fast Traxx Pickup out in the Blizzard of 1993 in North GA near Chattanooga, TN. It left trails while creating circles in 360° actions. Unfortunately, it wouldn't charge anymore sometime later.
Had the black and purple one. Drove it on the ice by the river at my Dads and it slid in and was gone for good. I bought a radio shack "Bedlam" thinking it would have the same control scheme but no... gonna have to find one of these on ebay.
I had a red Fast Traxx and thought it was fun for awhile but dreamed of getting a neon Hovercraft Typhoon 2. Never did get one though, they must have been expensive. I remember even drawing them in notebooks during school
I had the green one when i was six. And i seemed to get a new car every year for christmas cause they kept breaking so when i was 13 i got a hobby class car and haven't looked back. Though i would love to find a Fast Traxx that is new un-used!
I had the red fastraxx it even went through water i want to buy another one but I dont think they sell the fast traxxx. bu they should as its the best one out there
Those Fast Traxx were THE RC car to get back in those days. But quite expensive :(. I settled for a cheap wired Fast Traxx knock off and those small back wind up ones from KB toys.
Why don't r/c vehicles now days go that fast? Like the ones you see all of the time at wal-mart, target, etc..? Were r/c vehicles back in the 80's geared higher than today's r/c vehicles? I have the new 1/10 Scale Dukes of Hazzard car, and it is semi-fast. As in, not too fast, not too slow either. It sure as heck isn't as fast as that Bandit truck in that commercial! I had the Bandit growing up, i surely do miss that thing.
Question. So how come they don't make r/c vehicles to go super fast like they did then? Today, when you go to places like K-Mart or Wal-Mart and get the r/c vehicles for sale there, they are TURTLE SLOW compared to the Tyco Bandit! I had the Black Bandit Truck, that thing would FLY! LOL It was super fast, that much i do remember about it.
now those are toys and I still have 1 rc toy from back in the day and it is called riccochet xrc and now it sits on my self collecting dust and it needs a 6v battery pack and a 9v battery

When going to Toy-r-us was real special.
Coming home from grade school and watching these commercials while eating chef boyardee. The good memories!
Wish I was a kid again : (. Miss these days !
Early 90's. Best toy I ever had... twice.
I had that neon green/yellow one too. I absolutely adored that car.

I never got to play with these particular toy cars as a kid. Were they really as awesome as the commercials made them out to be?
