Still the best RC car I've ever owned. I'm amazed other brands, even real hobbyist brands have never jumped on this concept. It solves the one major problem with most RC cars, the problem of scale. This just went over everything and didn't care. It took a beating too, and we ran it in winter in the snow, slush, and ice. It didn't care (mostly). They held up for a couple years too, brushed off hits, and just worked great. Just think what a major hobbyist brand could do with this concept. I'm looking at you Traxxas.
I miss my fast traxxx. My older brother had a hobby shop grade rc. When I decided to just runover his car with my fast traxx.....he punched me in the stomach.......but his rc was toast. Lol
They used to sell replacement tracks back in the day. I ripped one and side lined mine for bit but got a replacement about a month after my Mom ordered it. Got a new battery plate cover as well. But your right I bet you can’t find replacements anymore sadly.
I had the Neon Yellow one and my bro got the Neon Orange one. Most excited I’ve ever been for a Christmas present in my life 😂 Going to go dig mine out of my Parents garage and see if I can find a new battery pack for it.
Went to my local Value Village store today and stumble upon a Tyco Fast Traxx with the remote tape on top of it. I couldn't believe it how good condition it was in. I bought it for $3.75.
Man!!! I miss my fast traxx!!! I was sooo stoked when my mom finally bought me one. I remember taking it to school and racing other kids rc cars. I blew them all away. Such a great toy back then!!
Every decade or so I seem to dig mine out! Got it in '92. Then dug it out in college early 00s. By then drifting was a thing, so I actually got it to drift. Now going to dig it out again. Quality manufacturing back then.
Early 90's, man, 26 or 27 years ago. Toy grade rc is absolute crap these days. Radio Shack, Nikko, ans Tyco were the bomb back in the day. In fact, alot of Radio Shack and Nikkos were basically the same.
Steve Brynan many a Tyco RC for me back in the day too! The rebound, this Traxx, they also had a rebound bike I can’t recall the name... remember the Tonka FIST? A truck you controlled with a glove? So many good RCs
I had it. It was crap. The best crap. Worked on perfectly smooth surfaces. Worked enough on water to not sink. Impossible to control. Still loved the hell out of it
That's awesome that you kept the Fast Traxx. I remmber those when I was a kid. My neighbor had one and It slayed my Nikko truck. It was way faster and could drive on anything. He used to jump his off of stuff and it would fly through the air and somehow never break no matter how much of a beating it took. Definitely hold onto it. It gives me flashbacks of the days when ToyRus had all the Tyco and Nikko RC cars behind glass in one of the rows. Those little crappy toy RC cars were between $150 to $200 bucks. I always wanted one of the RC boats like the Tyco Riptide. Remmber that one?
THis was THE best RC car i ever had as a kid, i still remember one of my friends with a 'real' RC flouncing off when it beat his car in an off-road race!
Ooooh I had it! 10/15 min of full joy and 4 hours to charge. The most powerful toy I've ever had. I tried once to stop the wheels with my hands and I almost lose a finger. Toys now are not even half powerful than 25 years ago. Golden 90s... :'(
Drove mine down the sewer as a kid. They came out with a crane type tool and a truck to take off the sewer cover, huge piece of cement. Belated thanks to the city of St Pete!
Damn these are memories, I always wanted one when I was a kid. I stumbled across your video searching for an other tracked Tyco model I had when little. It had one big track like a sled and independent skinny wheels in the front
My biggest mistake with this toy was in suddenly shifting it into reverse as I was going super fast forward. Needles to say, it wore out the gears and grinded them down.
I used to love my green one WAY WAY back in the day.. I remember not only did it climb my extremely slowed garden slide, but it launched itself off the back of it, Didn't land track side up, but it just bounced onto one of the tracks and all you had to do was spin up that track and it just naturally laid flat again.. And of course, it came out completely undamaged after the giant fall... Loved that thing! No idea what happened to it..
There was no sponge bob when this thing came out. I got one for Christmas when it came out 30 years ago. I was a bit of a curious kid so I drove it underwater to see if if would work. It did until it didn’t 🤣 you either had one of these or a rebound back in the day.
Dude! ........Dude!......... 😂 LMAO! Subbed on the strength of this vid alone man. Totally made my day brother. Thanks. The mullet flashback scene was the best part. I didn’t have the Fast Traxx, bit had the heads up turbo hopper, AND...... THE TYPHOON, which was the single biggest let down of my childhood as far as materialistic stuff goes. What a bullshit commercial. The absolute only place I could use it was on the tile in my 10x12 kitchen, for the 7 min it would run after the 4 hr charge. Was a good life lesson, but I’d rather have had a kick ass rc like my buddy’s Baja Bandit than a life lesson at the age of 11, lol. Again, great video. Tyco man great memories.....”Yahoooooo!”
I remember a friend bringing one of these to school for show and tell when I was about 5. He stole the show as he ran it all over the basketball court making a bunch of superficial mates in an instant. When I got home I hassled my Dad for one of these until Xmas rolled round. He wasn't quite sure what I wanted and I couldn't quite remember what it was called so he ended up buying a Scorpion. It looked similar to the Fast Traxx but that's where similarities ended. It had about half the top speed but I didn't have the heart to tell my Dad it was the wrong car so I played with it anyway and turns out it was still pretty cool. Never did get around to buying a Fast Traxx.
Aghh man, my buddy had one when i was 8 in 1992 and i was so jealous... It was crazy back then... A couple years later i got that hoover craft thing that came out , 90s were the shit!!
I didnt have the money to buy this when i was a kid went to the store and only looked at it hundreds of times, finally now i can afford it and watching this vdeo bring back memories,i ended up with a lc40 cr01 that i just built
I remember my buddy had this fastraxx truck neon green and I had the tyco testerosa ferarri in yellow that fastraxx was the shit crazy fast and could jump stuff built solid too I wish they came back out with these I remember they were close to $100 back then if not $99.99
Check out the Nikko Velocitrax... It's very similar to the Fast Traxx.. It's only a new model on the market, it's nostalgic for me looking at the Velocitrax with those Tank traxx. No idea how fast it can go compared to a Tyco Fast Traxx but it's still looks really cool.
I had The radio shack knockoff. Pretty fun. Though I had a few radio shack rc stuff, and they would always loose one of the control functions after a few months. After which I would take them apart
I had one of these as a kid..If someone made one today with a lipo battery, brushless motors and maybe some sort of kevlar/rubber tracks(the old tracks were crap) I would buy it instantly
I remember getting the red one when I was in elementary school (I'm 34 Feb 26) and I loved it! Mine had a chew mark on the tread belt from my guinea pig nibbling on it lol. Oh the nostalgia.....the good old days when life was about toys and what new pet I could bring home lol. I'm getting ready to get my first proper RC car (Kyosho Rage 2.0 in green) for my birthday and can't wait to finally get my hands on it. PS do you think the Kyosho Rage 2.0 is a good first car for a noob to the hobby? Thank you for any responses I might get and I hope you have a wonderful day. ✌️😎👍🏎️💨
I loved mine. I had that same one and later received the neon geen truck version. It would beet my friends more expensive Radioshack rc in high gear. Good times.
The Fast Traxx was already re released 2 or 3 years back. It was in blue with under body blue LEDS , it was 95% identical to the original Fast Traxx but Tyco stopped making them again unfortunately. It was a short lived re release.
Dude my truck version was worn out. Yours looks mint... did you even drive it?!? I was only about 7 when i got mine in 1992. Wow that sound of Tyco straight cut gears. What a flashback. I'm looking for good RC cars for my son and can't find any... vintage maybe but its $300 for a nice tyco.
A kid named Cody at the end my street got one of these for Christmas. I got an RC that had the controller connected to the car with a cable. I hated Cody.
I had one in the greenish yellow color. It ruined me for RC’s after, because nothing else could go through grass, dirt, over curbs, and could haul the mail with the flip of a switch.
I still have that exact model myself, but I never see anyone doing what their also known for, and thats when you go reverse then forward quickly they'll run vertical on just the back wheels!
Genial que lindo juguete yo me acabe de comprar uno igualito a ese en un mercado de pulgas aca en mi pais y por eso llegue aca para conocer mas de su pasado y veo que es como una reliquia de juguete
because the store rc's were crazy fast and killed tires and plastic gears. my electronics in my tycos never died ever. my nikko brat would pull wheelies i miss those days lol
Yes 👍🏻 that’s exactly how I actually acted and i remember I was oh this thing is professional grade stuff. Lol then my dad got me and him a nitro hawk RC truck. Needless to the fast traxx was old news. Not to mention the 4 hr charge time was so lame 😒
Ah, I remember the old days. About 4 hours to charge, for about 10 minutes of playtime. lol
So fuckin' true but so good old time memories!
Mine was 8h...
Lmao so true
That's actually pretty good lol
I remember those. LiPo batteries weren't even a thing yet either.
Still the best RC car I've ever owned. I'm amazed other brands, even real hobbyist brands have never jumped on this concept. It solves the one major problem with most RC cars, the problem of scale. Arma destroys Traxxas 😊
Traxxas isn't looking at you.
@@Ryan-hp6xt Until Horizon decides to discontinue stuff and you don't have parts anymore.
I miss my fast traxxx. My older brother had a hobby shop grade rc. When I decided to just runover his car with my fast traxx.....he punched me in the stomach.......but his rc was toast. Lol
if they sold those new today and sold replacement tracks. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
They have a smaller version I bought my son that came out a few years ago but it's too touchy, this was the best RC I ever bought I loved it
They used to sell replacement tracks back in the day.
In 2003 the Fast Traxx XL was sold at KB toys
I had the neon green/yellow one and to me it was the fastest thing out there. The only downside was all that charging for like 15 minutes of use lol.
The sickest rc ever. Brought a tear 2 my eye. Miss my fast trax
Went to my local Value Village store today and stumble upon a Tyco Fast Traxx with the remote tape on top of it. I couldn't believe it how good condition it was in. I bought it for $3.75.
Hell of a deal...I had one when they were released(was 10 at the time)and loved it.
Found a brand new one for 13 bucks...but it don't got the battery I don't think
Man!!! I miss my fast traxx!!! I was sooo stoked when my mom finally bought me one. I remember taking it to school and racing other kids rc cars. I blew them all away. Such a great toy back then!!
I had a limited edition chrome color I got for Christmas out of JC Penny magazine. Loved it.
Every decade or so I seem to dig mine out! Got it in '92. Then dug it out in college early 00s. By then drifting was a thing, so I actually got it to drift. Now going to dig it out again. Quality manufacturing back then.

haha I thought I'd check YT to see if there were any vids of these, and voila! good memories
I wanted one of these so badly! And anyone remember the hovercraft they brought out? Man I loved the 90’s! 🙌🏻😜
I had it
I had it. It was crap. The best crap. Worked on perfectly smooth surfaces. Worked enough on water to not sink. Impossible to control. Still loved the hell out of it
God bless the 90s. People just don't understand how fuxkin good it was.
I got Fast Traxx and Bandit by Tyco in 1994. I was 10 years old and they were my intro to the rc world. 29 years later they're still 2 of my favs
Dude this brings back lots of awesome memories. I had this one a buggy and the typhoon.
Oh man this brings back memories from when I was a kid, we got these in Australia back in the 90s as well...they were bad ass back then
Did you guys have the big ass toy catalogs with all the newest toys of the year? Circling everything you wanted for Xmas. Lol.
@@jking0.o121 yeah those were the days as a kid haha
Yep I had a red one in Australia in Perth as well this thing was a beast until I finally blew out the suspensions
That's awesome that you kept the Fast Traxx. I remmber those when I was a kid. My neighbor had one and It slayed my Nikko truck. It was way faster and could drive on anything. I always wanted a boat too. Never got one. Fml. Idk where I woulda used it besides the tub anyway 😂
THis was THE best RC car i ever had as a kid, i still remember one of my friends with a 'real' RC flouncing off when it beat his car in an off-road race!
Fast traxx memories for life.
That RC car was amazing! Even the sound is so nostalgic! Thank you!
I had the neon lime green one. I loved it!! Wore the traxx off it. The dog hated it. 9.6volt power baby.
"Almost twenty-something years ago." I love it! Perfect music to accompany the most rad footage. 👍
thank you guys for the beautiful memory of my childhood
Dang the feels! I had a yellow one. Yes it was the fastest R/C car ever.
Ooooh I had it! 10/15 min of full joy and 4 hours to charge. The most powerful toy I've ever had. I tried once to stop the wheels with my hands and I almost lose a finger. Toys now are not even half powerful than 25 years ago. Golden 90s... :'(

One of my fav RC cars from back in the day!! Loved this thing!
This just came to mind after seeing the Ripsaw F4
aahh the old toys... its so sad to think they never will get on the stores anymore :(
I used to love my green one WAY WAY back in the day.. No idea what happened to it..
I had a Fast Traxx, It really lived up to it's name, it was fcking fast !
Got one for Christmas in 94, I was 10 years old and I was stoked
I had the Fast Trax truck that was black. I loved it. That's back when walmart sold decent RC toys
Dude the memories! I loved this thing when i was a kid. The Rebound and the Tantrum.
Lol who remembers the treads coming off constantly
haha i know the struggle man ! it ends up broken and i ve used it with the battery hanging down till it gets unplugged
I would always sheer the teeth off of the gears doing wheelies lol Nowadays we'd just 3d print a host of them!
lol i would drive it on carpet without the treads and do burnouts
There was no sponge bob when this thing came out. I got one for Christmas when it came out 30 years ago. I was a bit of a curious kid so I drove it underwater to see if if would work. It did until it didn’t 🤣 you either had one of these or a rebound back in the day.
Yep i had the fluorescent green traxx and big brother had red- had mine for 3 hrs before seeing if it can swim lol

Loved mine. It was the same color. I fried a lot of battery packs fast charging them with my dad's power supply that he used for engineering projects.
Aghh man, my buddy had one when i was 8 in 1992 and i was so jealous... It was crazy back then... A couple years later i got that hoover craft thing that came out , 90s were the shit!!

I had that!!! I love it!! I just found the cord in my garage and now I’m on a mission to find the car! Hopefully my parents didn’t toss it !
Any luck on that mission? Such a fun car.
Jking 0.o no, too expensive on eBay so I sold the cord
Anyone remember the Tyco Rc Scorcher? That thing was fun.
Yup, had the black one....did a 360 spin and one of the wheels came off
God old school Tyco was so awesome
I remember My brother had the rebound and that was the shit
I grew up during the X-treme cycle era.
I would always drive these off sick jumps and break the battery-pack cover.
I remember my buddy had this fastraxx truck neon green and I had the tyco testerosa ferarri in yellow that fastraxx was the shit crazy fast and could jump stuff built solid too I wish they came back out with these I remember they were close to $100 back then if not $99.99

I had the neon green one. I wore the traxx off it. Eventually they just keep slipping off the rims. So much fun.
I had the same one. I thought it was the greatest toy I ever got! Great memories!!
I had a lime green one, and it was amazing!
For some reason thought of this today and looked it up, had one of these as a kid an absolutely loved it
I had one of these as a kid..If someone made one today with a lipo battery, brushless motors and maybe some sort of kevlar/rubber tracks(the old tracks were crap) I would buy it instantly

Haha awesome vid. I used to love those things!
What’s the shreddin ass 90s song at 3:28? Love that high octane Joe Satch style stuff.
I loved mine. I had that same one and later received the neon geen truck version. It would beet my friends more expensive Radioshack rc in high gear. Good times.
I still love these cars of the 90s am still into this there fun and simple love the tricks to.
One of the best toys I ever got. That thing worked until I drove it into creek. I think it would have jumped the creek if I hit the ramp
The Fast Traxx was already re released 2 or 3 years back. It was in blue with under body blue LEDS , it was 95% identical to the original Fast Traxx but Tyco stopped making them again unfortunately. It was a short lived re release.
Holy s***! Who is ripping it up on guitar?? Google doesn't recognize it, but it's badass!
the best toy ever , look at that movement man, awesome!
I had the lime green one. Makes me want to buy one off eBay. The 90s were the shit
Over priced on ebay, you want to be desperate to pay $200 for one.
200 isnt desperate. I just bought one. Had one as a kid. Now I can show my 6 yr old what I had as a kid lol. My favorite toy ever.
Always wanted one. Never got one. Just watched the original ad. Still want one.
They were here in the UK too.
This was one of my other favs 💯 besides the hi jacker
I had one it was the neon green I loved it hahaha 🤣 your video was rad dude totally awesome!
Damn my man looks good with a mullet!
that was a fun RC car for a kid. love mine for years
Best RC ever Mr. Random. 🏎
Wonder if it's upgradable 😮 the engine and make it bigger
Charged up mine recently and it still works, 25+ years later. How can the batteries last that long? Anyone know if you can get a new battery pack?
Mine had a small cog break on the the inside. I was devastated. These I would buy again.
NCC 2608! I didn't know Starfleet made ground based vehicles.
Holding the controller above your head 🤣🤣 … TOTALLY did that. Gotta extend the range, yo!
Hey, back in the 90 that was super fast for an rc car. Super durable too, until i ran it through a puddle. I was 6, so i didnt know any better.
Man I remember those days that was one of the first fastest and my lil bro and I got for Christmas when they first came out.
By far my favorite rc I ever owned
I absolutely loved mine! Thanks to my Mom and Dad for getting me one!
A kid named Cody at the end my street got one of these for Christmas. I got an RC that had the controller connected to the car with a cable. I hated Cody.
Lmfao 😂
I still have mine in 2020. i bought it in 1993 after seeing on tv ads.
Does anyone remember the black supercar Tyco did that would jack up the body with the press of a button, i think it was neon green underneath.
I had a red one and another that was yellow. Ugh, it was so nice before everyone started looking at phones all day.
Just bought a brand new one for 13 bucks at a Goodwill. Doesn't got the remote or battery included tho....
I loved my fast Traxx, My favorite RC.
Actually, fast traxx came in 1992, it was a great RC back then
hellll yeah i had this the yellow one all my friends hated me where is mine????
I had one in the greenish yellow color. It ruined me for RC’s after, because nothing else could go through grass, dirt, over curbs, and could haul the mail with the flip of a switch.
I had the half traxx that came out later on in spring of 92.....had the silver and blue one
I still have that exact model myself, but I never see anyone doing what their also known for, and thats when you go reverse then forward quickly they'll run vertical on just the back wheels!
I had one, also there was a street bike with a gyrol in it do you remember what it was called these were my two favorites lol
are they going to re relase them ?
i dont think so but new bright RC made one a few months ago called the BadZilla and it comes petty close to this
Wow this was first rc but mine grey that's awsome you still have yours
Best rc I ever owned. So fun to play with.
Genial que lindo juguete yo me acabe de comprar uno igualito a ese en un mercado de pulgas aca en mi pais y por eso llegue aca para conocer mas de su pasado y veo que es como una reliquia de juguete
I had one of those I had the yellow one !!! The remote antenna broke and it sucked after
Is Tyco ever gonna start makin RC Cars again ? I wanna see RE RELEASES again like Tamiya does lol
I had the Truck, ggooood i loved it so much! But the tracks fell off way too easily and wore out too fast
because the store rc's were crazy fast and killed tires and plastic gears. my electronics in my tycos never died ever. my nikko brat would pull wheelies i miss those days lol
This is all I wanted for Christmas as a kid or Super Nintendo. Let's just say a guy nice tracksuit from the thrift store of all places.
I forgot how much the body looks like a jet. I had the mutator when this was new.
