To be brief, having recently lost my father, this video brought back a flood of wonderful memories, particularly when he presented me with this amazing model of RC car, one of the most enjoyable we ever had. Thank you for sharing.
DUDE I HAD ONE I LOVED IT!!!! Used to make jumps in the snow for it to do backflips and barrel rolls!!!! But ended up breaking the shocks on it. The springs that come on it are looser than in pens. I tried gluing the plastic and put new springs in it but I was just a little kid and beating the hell out of it! I WISH I COULD GET ONE NOW AND MODIFY IT!!!! MY FAVORITE RC EVER! SNOW, SAND, GRAVEL....
@@guillo06gaming89 i cant even find an rc car with tank track type wheels. Like with the two joysticks up and down on the controller for steering. Is that setup a thing of the past now?
This is how this thing should have come out of the box when new. Very nice build, theLEDwheel. I have one of these and imo they were awful. I know many liked them.
what kind of transmitter receiver setup did you use for those Traxx project, I'm currently modifying a Tyco Rebound with a full brushless setup but I'm stuck as far as which direction to go with a transmitter and receiver to operate my dual speed controllers esc
you can use a simple 2 channel stick controller. but get one that has a rotatable steering. in other words they have to both move up and down so the right stick would control the right track forward and reverse and the left would do the same for the left side Traxx.. I used a 6 channel radio and did some channel mixing but the controls mentioned above work better.
If you want to use a pistol radio you need a V-Tail mixer, However its not without its issues. At full speed you will no longer have any steering therefore you will have to back off the throttle to steer, The more you back off the more steering you will have. Alternatively, If you use a two stick radio and turn the channel one stick vertical so the two stick are parallel then you will have full control of each ESC/Motor individually.
+TheLEDwheel I'm a bit lost so if I don't use that V-Tail mixer it would be hard to control the car or it won't work at all? thanx for your time I appreciate your replies
+TheLEDwheel Oh btw at first I mean that I will use the trigger for one motor and the wheel for the other motor if I do that I don't need the V Tail mixer right?
I am working on a 3d printable adjustable chassis for these. Currently working on the 9.6 and then the super. Just need to find a doner super fast traxx.
@@TheLEDwheel that's awesome it only come with the chassis or do you think you might have a whole kit with the ESC and controller and motors and how to install it

Hi! I was using my super fast traxx yesterday and it worked fine and then it stopped working. It's hard to even slide the button to the on position. I uploaded the video to the LEDwheels facebook group. Do you know what could be the issue? thanks!
I swear they felt this fast thirty years ago! My cousins had two of them and would always hit curbs and flip down the street for what seemed like an eternity. Their only issue was the treads flying off on tight turns. They blew the doors off of all the other RC cars at the time including the other Tyco models. Radio Shack Hopper? Pfff GTF outta here.
Where do you get replacement tracks from I've been looking everywhere this is the hardest model to find parts for the super fast Traxx maybe cuz it's quite rare
I remember wanting one of these when I was young. I couldn't ever afford it, and neither could my parents. How times have changed as far as hobby grade RC's go. I used to hate RCs cause all I could afford years ago was Ames, Hills, and Kmart RCs that never seemed to last long. Maybe a week at tops. I couldn't dream of owning a $200 dollar hobby grade RC back then, let alone how much the cost when you start getting into models around 1/10 scale.
@@TheLEDwheel Now I own 2, and bought the whole family their own as well. I've got a Revo 3.3, Summit, and soon to have the UDR. I got my brother a TRX-4 Tactical Unit, and the Stampede. Neighbor gave my brother a T-Maxx with the 2.5 nitro. I got the niece's a LaTrax Teton, and the LaTrax Prerunner. I got my brothers GF a Rustler.
@@TheLEDwheel Maybe. Either that or I've got too much money to know how to use it wisely. When I was growing up, I had dreams about owning a gas powered RC, a downhill race bike with full suspension, a lifted truck, and a Lamborghini. Well, I have the Revo, a specialized Enduro Pro, and a Jeep Cherokee on 8 inches of lift. As far as the Lamborghini goes, I think that was a dream I won't follow through with even if I have the money.
It was only 4wd the two front wheels had no power to them they were free spinning. You get one you have to make it a true 6x6. Still was a fun car when I had it as a kid, still was let down from it not being a true 6wd car.
That's pretty cool that thing is hella fast! I've got the green Nissan truck version. I want to make mine hobby grade as well. I see you are using a Box style airplane transmitter. How did you get the throttle stick to be Spring loaded so it stays centered? If that's indeed what you did
Depends if they are just parts swappers or are capable of doing custom work. Right off you will need 2 ESC's, either a stick radio(I recommend this) or a wheel radio with mixing built in like a Radio link RC4GS v2.

+TheLEDwheel lol but the car had room for the motor or you made room? I wish i have an rc store in my country to try the same with my old vintage RCs. Nice job man
I think you'll need to gear it down a bit further to compensate for the original gearing it had while running a higher voltage or simply run a 2s lipo in it only. or maybe go brushless motors & put a softer start punch to not shred stuff up.
Proportional throttle and proportional steering these are the reasons that i like the rc scale models. And this is the basic problem of an rc toy car, they are not proportional this is a very huge con for rc toys. Proportional in the rc models is a nice word, means you can do it as much fast or as much slow you want, like the real vehicles. That's why we love ,esc, lipo batteries, recievers and transmitters.
