Hello Matt. I'm building one as well. (So, not an 'official' reply). The part you are referring to is 2 pieces of self-adhesive, low density
foam strip, each 600mm long. Its like budget draught-proofing strip you might use on a doorway.
If you look at the glazing section of the instruction manual you will see where it is fitted. It goes UNDER the two central sections of part 735.
This is the wider, full width upper horizontal bar on the rear gable. The glass panes are fitted over the thin vertical gaskets as normal , but in this position only the upper edge of the two adjoining panes is fitted against the foam strip. I presume this is either or both waterproofing
and draughtproofing. I also purchased a higher grade 'D' profile self-adhesive strip to go at the lowest base of the sloping glass roof panes,
ie, above the gutter. (silicone is recommended in the video). I would not have been able to get as far as I have on my installation without
referring to the video. Saved a lot of time, and remaining sanity, as a few matters are not covered in the instruction manual. 1300h UK.

Hi Pat - that's odd, that piece seems to have been missing from my kit so may have to get in touch with Halls - though it has taken me so long to assemble I'm not sure if they will send another! I hope you are doing ok - I've finally completed assembly today, although the door needs some tweaking as it's very hard to open and shut.
Out of interest, does it look something like this: www.greenhousepeople.co.uk/products/898/adhesive-foam-strip-for-glazing-15m/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw1N2TBhCOARIsAGVHQc4DfSBzWZgrSbiIFWM-QK91WYiNWLtb7Ifag-2TbEnerBTQt1sgHVkaAvo4EALw_wcB
Have you nearly finished assembly? I love the greenhouse but have been really frustrated with the instructions!

Thanks for showing the assemble of joints in double speed 😂

Love your videos thanks so much for sharing. I'm puzzled by a very strange part on my Halls Magnum; part 428 which seems to be some sort of strip to place on my rear gable. Is this something I should have received or an optional piece?

DO NOT use mastic. You'll never get the glass back out if any breaks.

Hi what sort of time limit do you allow for build ?

@@neilgauld2817 They are professionals and I'm sure it was something like 1.5 days for 2 of them. Us..... me and my dad (and one day with my sister) took 5-6 days. That was a whole day for ground prep and base construction, 1 day to put together the sides, 2 days for putting all the sides together then a day and a bit to glaze. This might be slower than some could manage but we struggled a lot to decipher the instructions at times! I feel like if we were doing it again we could probably do it in half the time!

I had to put together a lot of things in my life but by lightyears this has the most useless manual I've ever seen. Many things left out, many pictures you can't make out, honestly it was a real painful experience and definitely made by sadists for masochists.

I completely agree, I’m in the process of putting our Magnum together and it has been SO painful! The doors took me an entire day and I rebuilt them 3 times. This video explaining the orientation of the verticals based on the distance of the screw holes from the ends helped massively.
My doors don’t hang well at all though, they’re up as high as they can go but still drag on the bottom, so much so that they barely move and feel wedged. Any ideas welcome.

@@th3kn0t Agreed! Just done 3 full days of greenhouse building, yesterday being the longest (8am - 9.30pm) and I still have the front and back to glaze. I thought glazing would be the easy part but the fact the instructions might as well be in another language with how much use they are. Absolutely atrocious. Worst company I have EVER purchased from. I'm about to head out now to try fit the doors, Cannot wait for a new anxiety induced evening...

I have never in my life tackled such a frustrating project due to extremely poor instructions. The instruction pamphlet is clearly a photo copy of a photo copy and has caused us to disassemble parts several times to put in parts which weren’t explained properly. I could go on about this poorly thought out product but suffice to say, if you want to protect your mental health then DO NOT BUY this product, it is impossible to assemble going by the instructions.
