This is the worst greenhouse ever, bought it for summer and summer is nearly over with how long it’s taken to build this piece of crap, halls don’t help you either customer service is rude

I have never in my life tackled such a frustrating project due to extremely poor instructions. The instruction pamphlet is clearly a photo copy of a photo copy and has caused us to disassemble parts several times to put in parts which weren’t explained properly. I could go on about this poorly thought out product but suffice to say, if you want to protect your mental health then DO NOT BUY this product, it is impossible to assemble going by the instructions. Thanks, very useful. I got the vents assembled wrongly using the instructions. Then I watched your video, and reassembled them correctly.

The sides and roof beam on mine are up. They were easy. It took me several hours to do the door, the instructions are very unclear, the fitting was very tricky. Easy when you know how, hard otherwise. Shame you missed the door assembly and fitting out.

The video is very useful, but seems to have been done with the assumption that you have assembled these before and this is simply an aid memoir. It would have been more helpful to have close up shots of the corners and also missing is fitting the door hanger

The instructions from Halls are useless it is ridiculous when you think how much they charge for their green houses it's a photocopy of a photo copy and nothing more than 18 pages of smudge there are plenty of alternative Greenhouses out there who provide accurate instruction for assembly my advice is buy one of them !

Today I have been constructing the panels of my Popular 8' x 6' - in the house!! Its very cold, wet & windy outside. The printed instruction manual that came with the frame is totally useless. The video above - helps but still skips over major pointers, like which way round to have certain pieces. I resorted to Halls online chat this morning, but that ended with the assistant telling me to look on UA-cam! Its been an arduous task, however a call to helpline this afternoon, proved very helpful - thank you Rachel. I was directed to the assembly guide on Halls Website with clear diagrams which has helped greatly. Waiting for the opportunity to carry on with the construction over the next couple of days. Fingers crossed it all works out.

I had to put together a lot of things in my life but by lightyears this has the most useless manual I've ever seen. Many things left out, many pictures you can't make out, honestly it was a real painful experience and definitely made by sadists for masochists.

I completely agree, I’m in the process of putting our Magnum together and it has been SO painful! The doors took me an entire day and I rebuilt them 3 times. This video explaining the orientation of the verticals based on the distance of the screw holes from the ends helped massively. My doors don’t hang well at all though, they’re up as high as they can go but still drag on the bottom, so much so that they barely move and feel wedged. Any ideas welcome.

@@th3kn0t Agreed! Just done 3 full days of greenhouse building, yesterday being the longest (8am - 9.30pm) and I still have the front and back to glaze. I thought glazing would be the easy part but the fact the instructions might as well be in another language with how much use they are. Absolutely atrocious. Worst company I have EVER purchased from. I'm about to head out now to try fit the doors, Cannot wait for a new anxiety induced evening...

Do you know if these have a minimum temperature? We live in the Midwest and we’re wondering if it’s ok to install them on a greenhouse in an area where it gets below zero Fahrenheit sometimes.

I found it helped to run a blunt knife/blade along the split in the rubber to open it up a bit. It made it easier to attach to the greenhouse. I think the rubber strip might have been in storage for a while before it was sent out. Really hard to get on, until I opened it out a bit

Very useful. The instructions included with the green house were of little use as regards fitting the vent to the greenhouse. The design of the frame looks a bit "iffy"- the bottom g;lass retaining bar is fixed using slots in the side members - if the fixing bots holding the bottom bar loosen, it looks like the bottom bar and the glass pane could fall out.

Hello Matt. I'm building one as well. (So, not an 'official' reply). The part you are referring to is 2 pieces of self-adhesive, low density foam strip, each 600mm long. Its like budget draught-proofing strip you might use on a doorway. If you look at the glazing section of the instruction manual you will see where it is fitted. It goes UNDER the two central sections of part 735. This is the wider, full width upper horizontal bar on the rear gable. The glass panes are fitted over the thin vertical gaskets as normal , but in this position only the upper edge of the two adjoining panes is fitted against the foam strip. I presume this is either or both waterproofing and draughtproofing. I also purchased a higher grade 'D' profile self-adhesive strip to go at the lowest base of the sloping glass roof panes, ie, above the gutter. (silicone is recommended in the video). I would not have been able to get as far as I have on my installation without referring to the video. Saved a lot of time, and remaining sanity, as a few matters are not covered in the instruction manual. 1300h UK.

Hi Pat - that's odd, that piece seems to have been missing from my kit so may have to get in touch with Halls - though it has taken me so long to assemble I'm not sure if they will send another! I hope you are doing ok - I've finally completed assembly today, although the door needs some tweaking as it's very hard to open and shut. Out of interest, does it look something like this: www.greenhousepeople.co.uk/products/898/adhesive-foam-strip-for-glazing-15m/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw1N2TBhCOARIsAGVHQc4DfSBzWZgrSbiIFWM-QK91WYiNWLtb7Ifag-2TbEnerBTQt1sgHVkaAvo4EALw_wcB Have you nearly finished assembly? I love the greenhouse but have been really frustrated with the instructions!

Love your videos thanks so much for sharing. I'm puzzled by a very strange part on my Halls Magnum; part 428 which seems to be some sort of strip to place on my rear gable. Is this something I should have received or an optional piece?

It would have been really useful to have shown the door fitting. It's badly shown in the manual and all these videos seem to skip the process. Mine has never run well, despite very careful installation, and today it fell out! Why the mystery?

Can I ask, how do you get the bottom metal bit on? The glass covers the holes for the bolts. I replaced a smashed piece oif glass in mine and am finding it impossible to get the bottom piece back on. I tried putting the bolt through first and sliding in the glass over it, but the bottom metal bit will not go over the edge of the glass and allow the holes to align.

Are there meant to be rubber strips on the door glazing? The instructions aren’t clear.

  • @nigeltaylor2339
    @nigeltaylor2339 2 роки тому

Note 1: The black rubber glazing strip on the opening window only goes up to the end of the bottom glazing if you add the glazing strip all the way up the bottom bar with window opener holders (8615) will not fit throws it off by few mm of the rubber, suggest adding the glazing and cut the glazing strip to the top of of the bottom glazing then add the bar window holder (8615) at a slight angle to slide in above the bottom glazing...hope this helps a few !! Note 2: If adding rubber glazing strip in cold months bring inside drop in hot water, leave for approximately for 1 hr this helps the rubber to expand then apply to greenhouse fits like a glove.
