Things you can do at a convenience store in Taiwan: 1. Have a meal/drink 2. Pay your bills 3. Get / pay for tickets ( train /high speed rail/concert) 4. Get the stuff you purchased online 5. Print stuff 6. Some places have seats where you can sit / read /hang out And while 7-11 in Taiwan is pretty good at what it does, I personally prefer familymart when it comes to convenient store foods , especially after they changed their recipes, you can now get something more delicious at a cheaper price than what you get at 7-11
I live in Japan, and I’ve always thought our convenience food is the best. Until I visited Taiwan about four years ago, and not gonna lie, in my opinion they totally beat us for cheap yummy food.
Local Taiwanese people actually do not eat the convenient store food unless they don't have a choice. Most people would rather eat in food stalls/small restaurants on the street. For example, in 7-11 the beef rice is about $4 per item, however if you go find a braised pork rice stall anywhere, you could have a full meal for $5. A bowl of braised pork rice is only $1.
Ya nt120 is pretty expensive for a simple bowl of rice with meat on top. My mom would probably kill me if I spent that much when you can get it for fresher and better for way less
My local 7-11 hosts this special type of business meetings for free outside in the parking lot. Once the clients are done, they’re allowed to toss their beer cans and cigarette butts on the ground for no extra charge!
I can attest, it is pretty incredible! Was lucky enough to drop in for a week a few years back, and I can't wait to return. Gonna have a long food list this time 😅
It's a really nice place based on all of my friends and family whove went. It's recommended though to learn a tiny bit of chinese before going, it's slightly less english tourist friendly than some more popular tourist destinations.

Love you so much Mike .. and REALLY love your first TW 7-11 video. I watch it again and again over the years. its so sincere content (and when you try to jazz that beef noodle soup. love those tea eggs too.)
once again Mikey shows us the excellence of Convenience Store cuisine abroad while we in the states weep for our Convenience Stores to be this good. XD
You can pay parking tickets, various bills, pick up/drop off point for online shopping in 7-11 as well. There are five 7-11 within 5 minute walk from where I live.
Having visited both I'd say Taiwan's 7-11 definitely is even better than Japan's. Unbelievable variety of services, and spacious, clean internal with seats to sit and eat and rest. Fresh made boba tea, draft bear, ice cream, working space, send & receive packages, book store, laundry, restroom, … These staff aren't paid enough for what they can do!
7-11 and Starbucks in Taiwan are operated by the same corporation, so the draw of 7-11 coffee is that it basically uses Starbucks beans. I'm not sure if that is actually true, but at least it was the marketing at one point. The FamilyMart in Taiwan rivals 7-11 in my opinion. Hope you enjoyed your time in Taiwan.
The last Mikey vid I get to share with my Siamese, Mr. Flea 😢 tomorrow is his last day before the long sleep. 17 years of love and cuddles on rainy days and cold winter nights.
Amazing, so surprise Mikey came to Taiwan. Come and enjoy food tour in the local restaurant & market(Highly recommended!). 7-11 is more likely a grocery store to grab food during the restaurant non-served meal time.
Family mart is also doing well (even better recently) in microwave food. Maybe you’ll like it. It’s so easy to get hot food in Taiwan at anytime. Love it.
Is this bc he has double eye lid on one eye, and then a inner double eye lid on the other? The imbalanced eyelids make one eye bigger than another so maybe that why the difference you mentioned?
When I say this is a meal in one spot. Like, One Stop Shop.. So freaking Dio Mike.. I can't wait till I visit.. I'm manifesting it. Enjoy! You are in Heaven.. 🐞❤
It's crazy I've been to Taiwan 4 times, but it didn't occur to me to leave the airport. I have a layover when I fly to Australia in july in Taipei, 😮 I'm going to 7/11!!!
There are 7-11 in airports as well. They have similar food items that you can heat up in the microwave. Usually when you pay for them, the cashier will ask if you would like them to heat it up so you can just wait a bit after paying. And no tip needed. Taiwan has excellent service without having to pay tip, some restaurants do charge 10% into the bill though. Here in US you need to tip regardless and most of the time the service is just meh.
When I was living in Taiwan for years. I live off of 7-11. It was the one of the very few available food to get near campus. It was super cheap. Of course I ate at other places.
The food in this video looked absolutely amazing. Last time I went to a 7 Eleven it was in the 80s in the US. I was lucky to get a hot dog. Hopefully the US stores have stepped up their game in the last few decades.
Because white people love the few basic flavors and won't stop buying them; in Asia they have to compete with tons of different other snacks so if they don't stand out and match the competition they'll die.
Try finding a store that specializes in selling snacks and drinks from around the world. If you don't mind spending a little bit maybe you can see if they can order them or see if they already have it on hand.
Actually 7-eleven in Taiwan also has lots of healthy foods: baking sweet potato (100% natural), fresh salads and fruits, sugar free teas, soy bean milks (low sugar and none sugar).
Also, you’ll be surprised at how much less sodium and sugar are in Taiwanese food. We don’t like our food to be super salty or super sweet. In Taiwan, there’s a lot of dark chocolate sweets bc Taiwanese don’t like overwhelming sweet stuff. For example, the Costco in Taiwan actually has both dark and milk chocolate Swiss miss to purchase. Here in the US, only milk chocolate. Also most Taiwanese will drink bubble tea at 30% sugar and at most 50% sugar. We always buy the lower sodium spam and lower sodium bacon at Costco here in the states. I cannot eat regular lays, only the lightly salted ones.
I absolutely love your videos, especially the 7/11 ones... The stories you tell about the food keeps me entertained for days 😂. But I draw the line when it comes to believing a boiled egg dipped and soaked in TEA tastes good 🤢🤮
I always comment throughout the video because I actually watch the videos but so far I love this video and went you to know I love you I got a really bad a week I fell down and hurt myself so any extra content you have that is funny would be amazing I love you Mike

Fresh fried chicken and other fried items in Japan's convenient stores are amazing. Something I wish Taiwan's convenient stores would have.
@paiwanhan Taiwan have, too. Maybe the convenience store near you when you visit taiwan doesn't have stock.

YEAH, that's why they have to keep up the food quilty when it compares to street food in Taiwan.

I work at 7-11 in Dallas Tx and our food here is SHAMEFUL compared to 7-11 Taiwan.
7-11 cannot compare to buc-ees (im also from texas) atleast here in the united states.
Just nachos and buffalo rollers lmao
7-11 US is a different organization from 7-11 Japan/Taiwan
I believe he's done a 7-11 video at Dallas tx. Should check it out.
Ironically, the city where 7-11 was founded. But yea its run completely different in the US than in Japan/Taiwan.

Same here in Taiwan at our 7-11s too. the only difference tho is the staffs are asked to keep it clean lol.
At my local 7-11 there's a special food container behind the store where patrons dive in and search for tasty treats free of charge as well!

Draft bear?
@@benjaminberkey2920 Some bigger stores indeed sell draft bear
Wished we had this kind of 7-11 over here. At all. Our supermarket 'To-go' stores are shameful compared to the Taiwanese and Japanese konbini-stores.
feeding the homeless is the first thing that comes to mind tbh..
I wish we had Asian 7-11 here in U.S. I would shop there too often 😂😂😂😂😂. I was in South Korean and loved the 7-11 there. Ate there many times.

do you notice your right eye retina is offset to one side compared to left eye retina which is centered? or is it because of the camera angle..

im no doctor but closest i could find is “esotropia”. mikey if you are reading this, you might want to check it out.
You should do a blind food taste test using items from restaurants and 7/11 to see if you can guess which is which !!
If you dine in restaurants, the food is usually better than 7-11.
But for takeout, it really depends.
That noodle soups look amazing !
