I think I enjoy these kinds of episodes more than the super fancy expensive restaurant ones 😆
me too
Yeah same. I've been skipping those fancy restaurant videos for a while now. These sort of videos are the best IMO.
Me too. I tend to watch more of these than the other restaurant videos lol
mostly cus you'll never experience them anyways
Absolutely. These are more relatable.
It's funny how Mike has probably explored and tried more foods than me who's a local Singaporean ಥ‿ಥ
I actually enjoy the Singapore series so much, just watching Mike devour and praise the food is so fun to watch and makes me reminisce about the delicious hawker food I used to eat
Ikr!
It funny miiike
take a shot whenever mike says “sho good” or “amassheeing”
that's alot of shots lol.
Are you still in Singapore? You should do a Singapore meet-up for us Singaporean fans! :D
^
7-11: “how much sodium you wanna consume today?”
Mike: “yes”
I never thought there will be a day where a satay sauce is being reffered as a curry sauce.
I was looking for this comment 😂
I lost it when he referred to the sotong piece as a jelly.
@@mittens2207 haha to be fair I think the konjac is cut to look like cuttlefish, so his remark may be understandable
What impresses me the most is also Mike, you are passionately complimentary to a $5 microwave meal as much as to a $250 meal ❤. Good food is good food, regardless the price. Thanks for the positiveness to you are spreading around.
He's so positive about everything that "not bad" is practically a negative review at this point 🤣
You gotta love how Asian 7-11 actually cares about the quality of their food, as opposed to what we're stuck with here in the US. Singapore hawker culture is Where It's At, it would appear! As usual, us mere mortals would probably die consuming anything that you think is spicy enough to notice, Mike...?
You know something is spicy when our boy Mikey takes a breather.
7 Eleven doesnt fail on their Microwave items. Pretty darn good it seems. Wish I can go and visit Singapore someday.
The racism against darker skinned people is crazy. Just fyi
@@joelscb Where in this video, huh? Not on my comment as well. Maybe you need your eyes checked. Stop being a tool.
Singapore 7-11 has brought in these local food in this year. Happy that you had enjoyed Mike!
The beehoon meal from 7-11 is a satay sauce (peanut sauce) that is served along side satay (meats grilled on skewers) not curry
Exactly my thought until I saw the ingredients and its honestly just a peanut curryish sauce. I still wouldnt call it curry though.
Would you ever consider doing a Caribbean tour?
That would be sweet
I Hope So But He Doesn’t Venture Out Much From Asian Food Which Is Fine
There’s no pork in the zhu chang fen 猪肠粉. It just resembles pork intestines which gave it the name. The version here and in Malaysia has sauces and oils but no filling (unlike in HK) so it’s usually marked as vegetarian.
One of the many things i miss about living in Asia are the rainy days. Sounds weird i know, but there was something special about sitting under cover with some spicy food and a few drinks while the heavens open up. Even the sound on this video is great.
Can you think of one episode where you don't hear the word "Umami"? lol. 🤣
Mike, I hope you realised that Zhu chang fen does not actually contain “zhu” (pork) ket slone chang ( intestines). I think the name just describes the rice noodles looking like pig intestines 😂
Wow we’ve an expert in the comments
I love watching Mikey's comforting food reviews mixed with discomforting data security risks. 🤣
The butter chicken biryani is just out of this world.
Mike helping Singaporeans try all the 7 eleven food even before we do . Would love you to do a collaboration with Ghib Ojisan!
Back when i was a kid we'd all go to 711 after school for the mash potato and gravy from the machine and instant noodles cz they provide hot water. Nice cheap meal just chilling out in a playground or void deck 😅
@@tmar8959 i miss that! Now no more liao
that briyani you just ate is a go to for most of the singaporeans when they find food in 7eleven
I was so sad when they raised the price
they added the damn raisins & some flakes of smth which ruined it for me
You could tell that that’s 1 of their Favorite hobbies and their hobby is Cooking 🍽🤤 When you get around peoples that loves to Cook you had “Hit a Home Run.”
That Maggi is actually the most famous instant noodle brand in Malaysia. And the word 'Pedas Gilerrr' on the pack literally means Crazily Hottt. Glad you like it. ❤️
I always thought that Mike was a hardcore spice head and I was weak but I don’t find the Maggi Tom Yom that spicy!
I was about to translate then saw your comment.
YUCKS!!!! Malaysia food is DISGUSTING!!!. I had Diarrhea for weeks after eating it. :)
@@schadenfreude6274 Not the food but your reflection caused that. Remedy: Stop looking in the mirror.
@@andreab7445 our southeast asia tongue is different XD
Thanks for comin all the way here. So glad u enjoyed our local food, Mike. Your videos are amazing as always. Love from Singapore
Ha ha. When he put salted egg potato chips on top of his curry........ This man is the very defintion of 'bon viveur'.❤😋
When I saw the 7-eleven butter chicken briyani, I was like “get that! get that!” 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 Smells really fragrant and taste delicious! 😋
Im a simple man, I see Mike Chen, and seven eleven I click
same
pedas giler is absolutely a challenge-type spicy noodle, though
maybe the store should separate normal noodles from challenge ones so people don't get mistaken.
as an avid 7-11 konbi food enjoyer that has been eating the briyani since they first released it, pretty grateful that almost all of the food you find there are actually nice. These new ones, especially the curry chicken cutlet rice is my fav
Mike should have also try the 7-11 microwave meal pack from ANDES western food range. They are slightly more expensive but taste really good.
Love these type of vids! Affordable food and delicious food too!
The laksa and briyani are really good. My friends and I love it!
Note: you have had that buttered chicken dish before. You loved it then and even though you forgot your stomach remembered it and wanted it again.
7/11 Singapore, sponsor the man already! How does Mike eat all that and not get gout?
How does he not have high cholesterol levels eating like this so frequently?
The amount of sodium he consumes daily! He probably eats >10,000mg of sodium daily. My blood pressure would rise to a million with that amount of salt and I would probably be on dialysis
I think he says he doesn’t eat on his off days basically. I would say he would also eat healthier on off days, but he has said he hates veggies, so who knows
Those salted egg chips are the best!
idk why but i really enjoy watching mike eat chips. he eats them like a commercial, genuinely so entertaining
I Love it when you do the 7-11 food reviews! If only they were like that in the States ☹️
I love this channel but I love the 7-11 videos you do the most Mike!
I've always been a picky eater, but I love being able to see all the unique cuisine from all around the world. Its cool to see the differences in cultures and cooking. Love the videos, always looking forward to the next one. :)
Stop
Try and be open minded. It's better for you
Well when food shortage happens and the world is near it's end, you can't be picky 😆
@@andrewatsv2718 I got you man. Come down south. We are already prepping
There’s nothing like having Curry in Singapore ready meal or not!
Omg these convenience store videos are always my favorite! Yayyyyy
Mike, the Maggie noodle you had was “pedas giler”, translates to “mad spicy”. It’s a special spicy flavor. Usual ones are not this spicy. 😎
I’m Singaporean and I subscribe to Mike’s channel because he knows food in Singapore even better than me 😂😂😂 Hawker food at 7-11, my first time hearing and seeing it. High quality content, thanks!
Idk if Mike remembers.. Because I swear he already tried that Biryani 7-Eleven in Japan or Korea I think. And he loved it the same way ✨
I get so hungry watching Mike eat. He sales food so well any where he goes ❤️😋
Hahahaha…the Maggi Tom Yum noodle. You chose a ‘Pedas Giler’ variant. Pedas Giler (in Malay) directly translates to ‘Crazily Hot’…enjoy it, Mike!
This made me so hungry 😍 the curry looked so packed full of flavour and that brownie...yumm! I always love exploring grocery stores/7 eleven type stores when I travel too!
Just when i thought i've tried most maggi noodles mike brings another one
It’s actually satay not curry, for the first 7-11 dish u ate. Pretty sure it’s cuttlefish not Konjac too.
Just sitting, eating while it rains..heaven.
Wow you are all those meals in one sitting. That’s talent.
No, it's gluttony
Mike could fill another channel full of workout video. Because those calories definitely need to go somewhere.
@@araisikewai He has upload one before, he did some intensive workouts. He also like to walk a lot if he is able to do so like in NYC, Singapore, S. Korea, Japan, and etc.
Question: Is there also a barber shop in Singapour?
I go to that curry rice place a lot! I like ordering the pork belly and chicken cutlet lol
If you ever come back to singapore, I would recommend you to try these places:
Nasi bryani @ beach road (located at a coffeeshop besides goldmile food centre) they close early and there's always a long queue so be there early
The banana leaf apolo @ little India (fish head curry.. warning its very spicy)
Lobster porridge @ maude road (jalan besar)
Nanyang Food Culture @ maude road ( handmade buns and dim-sum and go for amy yip bun (translate to Chinese) that is as big as a human face
Super nice to see that you’re still uploading, for some reason your channel came to me as a distant memory haha.. then again I’ve been watching you since I was in middle school and I’ve graduated now haha. Thank you so much for all journeys you take us on, you’ve opened my mind up as a younger person to what’s out there quite a bit.
Wow! The food they have in their 7-11's...amazing! 😳👍😊 Thank you for sharing this video with us. 👍🇨🇦😊
I watched another US UA-camr who mentioned the variety of food over here in Asia. She did mentioned however that when it comes to desserts i.e. cakes, cookies, ice creams and sweets, the US reign supreme in terms of diversity and flavor.
78?
Maggi Pedas Giler (crazy spicy) are less spicy than challenge type ramen but still very hot. They use bird eye chili (50-100k SHU) unlike challenge type ramen that use super hot chili variant at 1+ mil SHU. The tom yum flavor Mike eat is less spicy than ayam bakar (roast chicken) / seafood version due to tom yum sourness. There is 2x spicy version too.
Tried 7-11's butter chicken briyani during those covid lockdown days last year. Gosh, it's amazing!
"The Food Gods" ... Mikey is on another level.
Congratulations you have been selected among the lucky winners🎉🎉
Now, THAT is a dark chocolate brownie
I happened to look away for a second when Mike was showing the instant noodle label so all I saw was the familiar shape and I just went, wait a minute, is that the line of premium crazy spicy line of Maggi instant noodle bowls? Basically all flavours in that line has the 'Pedas Gilerr' tag which translates to 'Krazyy Spicy'. They're really not kidding btw, I had to stop eating them for the sake of my stomach health. XD
That is not curry in Satay beehoon it is the satay peanut sauce hence the name satay
14:20 the butter chicken is not spicy, the way Mike was saying it is as if he thought it was suppose to be spicy but it really isn't as for the chicken it's chicken thighs that why it's tender and you can feel it's different than eating chicken breast
I like these types of videos, its even better when you go into the store and pick the stuff out yourself and film it. Good video
I’m getting a hungry when I’m watching you review a delicious 7/11 or street food 🥘
If I ate that much salt I would look like a balloon afterwards 😂
it's not just the salt. This much food, only Mike can stay in shape.
@@cancanjaker1620 he’s a beast
I'm listening to the sound of the rain as you eat and it is making me sleepy! I love falling asleep to the sound of rain
This was especially fantastic editing! Thanks you for the great show!
Maggi Pedas Giler is what mike ate for breakfast first. Pedas Giler translates to insanely spicy lmao. Pedas=spicy , Giler=crazy (slang). When u said u were having it for breakfast i just started shaking my head lmao
Mike!!! I highly highly highly highly highly recommend this place called Chuan Yang Ji, it's a super underrated lamb/mutton hotpot place with the most AMAZING collagen bone broth EVER. If you have the time please feel free to drop by an outlet, they have a few across Singapore and I really can't recommend it enough! Just typing this is already making me smell and taste their fantastic lamb, both skewers, innards, my gosh help me I'm drooling already just thinking about it. Please give it a try one day! 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
mikey know what local food to get man haha.. not many ppl will recommend hainanese style curry rice in Singapore :D great choice!
Wow! How many food videos of Singapore does Mike have? Cause I am expecting more to come!! ❤
LUV your videos!!! Luv that yuo get stuff from convenience stores 😍👍
I expect an out of body experience every time i eat 🤣😅😂
That first place you ate at on here looked absolutely amazing. I wish I had access to good Asian food like this.
Ugh! I shouldn't have watched this, now I'm hungry again. 😋
Bro makes the simplest things look hella good😂
Hey Mike, just alittle nugget of info from a professional cook: chicken doesn't microwave real well to begin with,so I can see were you're coming from when you said that on dish wasn't very good
that maggi pedas giler is the real deal especially tomyum one. I still got flashback from eating it years ago, so painful!
This channel should be called Strictly Singapore
Right
Can't wait to start traveling the world and trying some of the food you show on your channel, you have given me a list place to try when I go to different countries.
Congratulations you have been selected among the lucky winners🎊🎊
I’m amazed by how far ahead this man must be making videos! That burger said “use by 08/28/22” and posted in October?! No wonder we have constant content, thank you Mikey!!
hello..just fyi,
that was satay sauce and not curry. was cuttlefish instead of konjac jelly.
猪肠粉is so called as it looked like pork intestines. it’s rice rolls with chilli and swwet sauce. there isn’t actually pork in there.
Mike, I salute you for showcasing the local hawker products. I try to make sure to support local restaurants and food trucks - these artists who feed us have had a rough couple of years and I’d hate to lose them!
Looks soooo delicious ❤
Are you aware The International is going on in Singapore rn? Greatest esport
Anyone have a idea why we haven't seen his wife laitly
She's in law school, he said.
Maggi noodles never disappoint
When something says spicy it means spicy
6:13 oh it just started to rain ☔️ this thing is even gonna be more delicious 😋 now hahaha 🤣 🍜
Hello Mike! You own restaurants create your own microwave meals in America like the ones in Singapore with your own twist.
The “konjac jelly” @5:46 is cuttlefish
Magical details with Mike, looks so good. Mouthgasm at the rice noodle curry before you tasted
Huge fan
Ty for the surfshark special
Your videos are awesome Mike!
watching you lose your mind over the pedas grill is so funny because my friends and i used to cook it at the back of our classroom and eat it during recess in secondary school 😭😭
That's cuttlefish on your satay bee hoon ...Not konjac. You should eat the hawker version, it usually comes with pork liver, pork slices and cockles which I believe would suit you more.
Everything is Mikes favorite thing to eat everywhere 😂😂😂
Makes me want to go to Singapore and go on a food safari
I live in Las Vegas. Born n raise Hawaii I eat every food from every country .I love food I only weight 110 lbs n exercise everyday. But I love food. My favorite food is noodle n Asian food. I even have eaten n live in Saudi Arabia for 7 years. Happy Day.
I don't think it's possible to overstate how good laksa is.
If you know, you know.
