How I Made Huge Armies.... in Blender! (Breakdown)
Вставка

- In this breakdown video, I go over the techniques and workflows of building one of the biggest shots for my Heroes of Bronze shortfilm.
From deconstructing the environment, to showing my character assets, arrow simulation, dust and compositing, I go over every single element that it consisted of. I also show my After Effects composition.
This is not a step-by-step tutorial, rather a breakdown format - but if you have any questions, or if you want me to break down a specific shot or technique in the future, definitely let me know in the comments! :-)

Bro I beg you to do more of this. People like me who want to create something like you and fairly new to this space has no idea of how things are done. Today’s video is a masterpiece. Please continue to do more of this more frequently
🙏 I will!
Blender really need crowd system
I think it coming soon with some iterations gn
AWESOOOME
We really do man, I’ve been looking around for so long. I can do Houdini, but it’s be nice to have it in house and save money too Lol
The level of creativity to optimise the scene. Genius
The way you break down your workflow is perfect. Thank you!
Martin your content is wonderful :) very impressive and great to see the behind the scenes
Thank you very much for sharing your workflow!! :)
The video itself is amazing as well.
That was a Masterpiece
Well Done !!
I wanted to take a moment to share my sincere appreciation for your incredibly helpful video breakdown of the scene from Heroes of Bronze for Blender users. Your detailed analysis and explanation of these complex layers and their use in Blender has been invaluable in increasing our understanding.
Your ability to break down each element of the scene, from lighting and camera angles to character movements and visual effects, is truly commendable.
Thanks so much!
Glad it was helpful, thank you for this wonderful comment 🙏🥳
@@MartinKlekner You're welcome! It really was very useful! Greetings and all the best for your new projects!
Epic thank you sensei, Great Insights/Breakdown!
Thanks so much for sharing all of this.
Amazing video and a bit daunting as well!
Dude. So inspiring.
Your content is incredible! Thanks for all the hard work!❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Amazing job👏
Amazing how you do your shots. It makes me feel like I can do a full movie in just days. Thank you for this and please break down more of shots because this side we are learning a lot from you.
Glad to hear that :-)) I will do more of these breakdowns!
@@MartinKlekner Grateful
I just finished one of 3 projects I'm working on where a lot of trouble which I could have saved myself if I had watched this video; Really very good information and great contribution! thank you so much!
Hope it helps you on your future projects 🤗
Please make a master close up shots environment course! I havent't bought your environment course yet because i can't really affoard the price. But i am sure It has a value a lot higher then the 80$ It costs. Love from Italy, i really look forward to buy It soon.
cool work🔥🔥
Superb breakdown, enjoyed every second of it! I'd also love to see a night time or indoor sbot breakdown as well. Also, is the dude dead at 8:24 ?
Glad you liked it! :-) Thanks for the suggestion, and yeah, that guy got hit by an arrow... Funny enough, he's still moving, but it's not too visible in the shot :-D
nice job man, human animation is my problem, that's why I plane to buy motion capture device for this
Fantastic work! I would recommend getting used to a linear scene-referred workflow in the future and using the AgX color transform. The new AFX with OCIO Color Management is not the most comfortable way to deal with EXR files but it's worth checking this out for a much better control over color grading and effects. EXR with DWAB compression is also smaller and faster than PNG.
Thank you so much, color management and EXR usage is definitely something I must get into for my future projects, so I really appreciate the tip!
@@MartinKlekner On the other hand your sRGB workflow still works fine as long as you don't need much control in the post-production process. The important color transform will be done in Blender with Filmic and baked into the 8-bit PNG files. So it's OK to use them with restrictions. But the industry is using a linear workflow for ages and it's always good to adapt and use the advantages. I love your work. It's full of energy, passion, skills, and great insights about special techniques and optimizations. Very useful information for the community to understand important "less is more" principles. I am coming from the 90s and I am used to problem-solving CGI tasks with very simple and old-school techniques. That's why I enjoyed this video a lot! :-)
What keeps your soldiers from clipping in each other? Like their arms, shields ect, from clipping from being so close
I wonder if you could use geometry nodes to randomize movement
Sir what GPU do you use or do you use render farm? Heroes of Bronze looks too heavy of a scene to render. Btw both of yours and mr Zach's courses are amazing ✌️✌️✌️
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
WHERE I CAN GET THAT BACKGROUND IMAGE , GREAT WORK
You have the add on? O need make some similar army
fan of your job, can you do zeus fight vs odin?
Thank you! Sorry, I am focusing my efforts solely on the Greco-Persian wars period :-)
This is how I'm going to make
broski which part of your course you teach the GIS texture addon?
Hi, Chapter 9 of my Enviro course www.cgboost.com/courses/master-3d-environments-in-blender
please tell your PC specs
Two PCs were used to create Heroes of Bronze:
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K 4,2 Ghz
GPU: GeForce GTX 3070
RAM: 64 GB
and
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K 4,2 Ghz
GPU: GeForce GTX1070 Ti
RAM: 64 GB
@@MartinKlekner How do you have the same specs as I do lol
Well except of the RAM maybe
Mind blowing where you kids are able to do with this software program these days.
audio is way too soft
Everything was amazing but the animation sucked bro. You should work on learning animation which is the most important part. Nice work btw!
True, will try to improve that part for next time :)
@@MartinKlekner That is a very diplomatic response to this lame criticism. ;-)
What keeps your soldiers from clipping in each other? Like their arms, shields ect, from clipping from being so close
Not much…Careful placement, I guess 😅
