    Thank you for this. I have rosacea and sensitive skin. Years ago, I had micro needling done once and it was a nightmare for me. My skin was peeling off and raw and painful for several weeks. I assumed this meant the procedure was not effective or not for me. Now reading the benefits of micro needling for fine lines and texture- im considering trying it again and this makes me feel like maybe my response wasn’t all that out of the norm as my technician believed it to be… dunno

      I had the same experience with RF microneedling. I had three sessions. I didn't find the procedure too painful, neither the days after. But then all the super dry spots and acne. I've been on oral isotretinoin a while ago so getting the acne again was horrible. Also my skin now reacts way worse to even salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. I had to put Elidel on my face to get it to calm down from all the dryness and reactions. I don't think I'd do it again. Still trying to get the acne under control again.

      @@taysonkhaHello, Tayson. Thank you for warning people about what can happen with isotretinoin, especially if you get a micro needling session. I've heard that even having waxing sessions while using that medication can cause violent,painful reactions. Even more shocking was to find out that acne can come back after using isotretinoin !! Didn't know that could happen.

      I have rosacea and the first time I did it I had a horrible reaction. At the time my face was inflamed pretty bad and rosacea was active. I got it done a week ago and decided to give it a go because my rosacea has been less inflamed lately. My skin was red a little after procedure and the next day woke up like nothing happened

    Every month I’ve been micro needling religiously. I started 29 years ago dermarolling every month to 2 months. I follow up with a 30% glycolic peel one week prior to that. I’m 62 and my skin is almost flawless for my age. I also use retin A 1% now for 15 years. It does work when done continuously.

    • @dzuel09
      @dzuel09 Рік тому

      @@myglamour121 Sure. I have discoid lupus which means I have scarring across my entire face. Discoid lesions are very visible and I’ve had the scars since I was 5 (now almost 40). After 4 sessions of microneedling my doctor and I saw visible improvement. We did evo pen +trx acid over the discoid lesions. On the rest of the face just normal microneedling. There was an improvement in both texture of my skin overall and a blurring/fading effect where the outline of the scar meets my skin. I do not have any significant acne scars but because my skin is prone to hyperpigmentation, we opted to avoid any device that produces heat. Risk is not worth it, per my doctor. My advice would be to visit a derm, I don’t do med spas, and talk through your goals and they will come up with a plan with you. Best money I ever spent.

    Microneedling has been a great benefit for my skin type re texture and scarring. But I don’t do it more than every 6-8 weeks because it’s at a deeper depth for scarring. It is a huge improvement, looks so much better, but I’m talking over 2 years+ with about 6/7 treatments a year! You will see gradual improvements from the beginning, plus in between times when some scars will look slightly wider but shallower, but you need patience….otherwise save up for an ablative laser in the hands of a seasoned professional of course :)

    Is microneedling safe for melasma

    • @PiXie232
      @PiXie232 Рік тому +7

      Yes BUT you have to take tyrosinase inhibitors such as kojic, Azelaic, tranexamic acid, alpha arbutin etc for at least 6 weeks beforehand, during and at least 6 weeks after getting micro needling or any other type of treatment like this done such as laser therapy etc because it prevents the melanocytes from getting triggered due to the stress your skin is under from the micro needling. So as long as you are on a good serum or two with at least one, if not a few of these inhibitors, it will prevent your melasma from developing again. I recently just did my first round of micro needling and haven’t had any issues with my melasma getting triggered because I’ve been really good about using the tyroninase inhibitors for a while now- including Tretinoin. Hope this helps!

    Yep. I get petechiae that lasts for 3 or 4 days then peeling. i have some scars and that post treatment puffiness does fill it all in for a bit, it takes a while to see any changes. But your skin feels great after the peeling! Just hard to schedule it with not wanting to be seen for several days.

    Dr. I do microneedling at the derm on a monthly basis. My daily routine involves the use of a red light therapy mask. I read that because RLT helps with healing, it affects the efficacy of microneedling. What do you think?

    Hi, so I was told by a med spa here at my first consult that I should get microneedling done every 4 weeks and I thought it was a bit excessive so I never went back and got it done. I’ve never had it done before but I have SUPER sensitive skin, some texture issues and scarring. How often would you recommend microneedling be done?? Is every 4 weeks too much? Should I avoid going to this place for skin treatments and find someone else? If it’s your first time, is there anything to do to prepare??
