I remember my sister buying this for her 2 boys... The first morning, they ate it like it was going out of style! The next day, they didn't want it anymore... I never tried it, so I don't know what it tasted like.
In the second Ghostbusters movie the scary part was when Egon, Winston, & Ray were in that old abandoned Subway tunnel looking for that river of pink slime & that scary voice called Winston's name & then those heads on sticks appeared all around them.
FINALLY!!! And it was worth the wait. This was possibly my all time favorite cereal and I would love if General Mills would do a reboot with that thing they are calling a remake comes out. I mention GM because from what I read, GM purchased everything when it comes to cereal from Ralston but obviously the rights of using Ghostbusters is totally different but I'm sure GM has the formula somewhere locked away. We all know it would do very well if they did in fact release it again. The only thing that came close to tasting it again was Yummy Mummy when it came back out back in 2013. Obviously not exactly like it but close. Great video.
+Dennis Nelson Let's keep our fingers crossed that GM jumps on this opportunity. I don't think there's any example of them re-releasing a Ralston cereal yet though, so my expectations are low.
First of all with times the way they are now this is a great way to spend your time home with blasts to the past. But now I wonder what was the last Ralston cereal? Anyone know?
Keep in mind, just because a company is out of business, doesn't mean you can't get a re-boot. When companies collapse, they are usually sold, so some company owns the rights to the recipes for Ralston products. It happened with Hostess, after they went under. Granted, there's a lot more Twinkie fans than Ghostbusters cereal fans, but theoretically, it could happen!
i just saw thats fuckin epic bro, even saw some cereals ive never seen and ones ive always been curious about. i also gotta say i love how in the ghostbusters cereal video you managed to find all the commercials and got ahold of them. thank you sir
Great cereal and I remember the frisbee. Have you done a Strawberry Shortcake cereal episode? I swear that cereal caused me to break out in hives as a kid. It's the only food I tell people I am allergic to.
Hoping for a new Ghostbusters as well. Fingers crossed. I was sick last week and had some crazy mid-day cereal dreams one afternoon. I was walking thru the store and found a "hidden" aisle with a bunch of weird item on them. On one of the upper shelves labeled 'overstock', I discovered a couple cereal boxes. Upon further investigation, I found more. Discoveries included: A Pink Panther themed cereal that was boxed in a cube instead of the regular rectangular cereal boxes, a collaboration between Sonny & the Trix Rabbit that also came with a record of them singing their new theme song for whatever this cereal was called, and a St. Patrick's Day/Monster cereal crossover with a zombie Lucky the leprechaun. Of course there was more, but those are the most interesting I remember. Don't mean to bore you with dreams, just thought it was kinda funny. I really want a cereal to come in a cube shaped box now!
+Chadwick F OMG, that sounds like the best dream ever. I very rarely remember my dreams and if so they're usually not that vivid. But that sounds amazing! I bet you woke up and were disappointed those cereals don't really exist. :(
Another great vintage cereal review! Ralston isn't around anymore? Maybe you can help me, Gabe. I used to LOVE a cereal called Corny Snaps in the early 80's...anyone remember that one? Thought it was from Ralston. Please reply if you remember it, cause nobody I know does.
Corny Snaps were discontinued before I was born (or right around when I was born in the early 80s), but as a cereal-head I'm well aware of their existence. Shame I missed them. The Snapping Turtle mascot looked like a lot of fun. vimeo.com/99158294
Not sure. Where have you seen the Ralston cereals? I remember the name was later Ralston Purina in the 1990s. Always had good products from them. I am in the U.S.A., so maybe the name "Ralston" is in Canada, or elsewhere. Cheers
With all of the licensing (the name, using the GB's song in the commercials), holograms and glow-in-the-dark boxes (not to mention the Porsche giveaway), this must have been one of the priciest cereals of all time. Either that or their margins were virtually nonexistent.
I never had any of GB cereals before, I was on sugar restrictions at that time, meaning I cant have sugar, so I never ate it No, cereal for promo for 2016 film but never made it but it did make the Hi-C Ecto Cooler comeback, lime Twinkies, you remembered them? both ran only for that year until the film done in theatres
+Cereal Time TV I saw an alf cereal on a hollywood squares episode that aired back in 1987. it was actually a cheerios box that alf had altered to say alfios on the front and he had put a picture of himself on the box and then he put the box in someone else's dressing room and when the guy found it in his dressing room and showed it to the audience, alf said "I have no idea how that got there"
No, in the pjs and pigtails with the flashlight and the bed full of Ghostbuster's gear. I remember they told me to "look surprised" and it was the first time I ever had to wear mascara. I've still got the box but it's pretty beat up. I actually found your video because I was looking for a better image than the crappy photo I have.
I'm pretty sure it was handled by Ralston Purina's ad agency, or maybe their in-house agency if that was around back then. I was hired through a talent agency locally (St. Louis), but my dad also worked at Purina in a completely unrelated department. I don't think that was a factor, but it could've been. I remember thinking that all the Ghostbusters stuff was really cool (I loved the movie!) and that it was kind of weird having a fake little brother.
crunchy corn bran is back on the shelves in targets it's not as good as I remember we were only allowed semi sweet cereal as kids have you done one with just the original three frut loop flavors?? greetings from the best city in the world and home of General mills Buffalo ny
+agltbialik I did for a long time, but I finally got to a place where I was like, what's the point? These boxes could just sit on my shelves for years, unopened, but no one would get any joy or satisfaction from that. It's much more fun to open them and share them with other people. I still have some action figures that I keep in packaging, but for cereal it just seems wasteful to let it sit there and not see the contents again.
breakfest cereals back in the 80's were over the top crazy. I seen cereals for PAC-MAN, Smerfs, Nerds, Star Wars, Donkey Kong,, Donkey Kong Jr. M. T and other. the ones I mention I remember eating them. btw, the ghostbusters reboot was awful. GB3 in 2020
Oh my gaaad! I totally ate this garbage back in '85 and I would gladly eat it now if they still had the good taste to offer it, still! I also ate lots of Mr. T cereal!!! I pity da fool that never tasted Mr. T cereal!
I wish we got more creative cereals like this nowadays
This cereal was ahead of its time and very good.
That was a good cereal, I wish they'd still make it.
AWESOME! I loved this cereal when it was out & asked for it every chance I could! The slimer ghosts were the best!
I remember my sister buying this for her 2 boys... The first morning, they ate it like it was going out of style!
The next day, they didn't want it anymore... I never tried it, so I don't know what it tasted like.
Those yellow and red cearl peices with two holes in them look like pig noses.
I remember that cartoon use to come on saturday mornings & I use to watch it.
In the second Ghostbusters movie the scary part was when Egon, Winston, & Ray were in that old abandoned Subway tunnel looking for that river of pink slime & that scary voice called Winston's name & then those heads on sticks appeared all around them.
Thanks for the video. That cereal was great. I ate a lot of Ghostbusters and of course classics like honeycomb and pops
FINALLY!!! And it was worth the wait. This was possibly my all time favorite cereal and I would love if General Mills would do a reboot with that thing they are calling a remake comes out. +Cereal Time TV mine too. we can dream can't we? lol. knowing my luck they'll come out with one and in no way will it be like the original. lol
Glow in the dark Ghostbusters box! Man that was tight.
First of all with times the way they are now this is a great way to spend your time home with blasts to the past. But now I wonder what was the last Ralston cereal? Anyone know?

There’s a new Ghostbusters cereal coming from General Mills this year when the new movie comes out. It’s not the same as this one, but it’s something.
I wonder if they do reboot the cereal since the film was in the summer.
the prizes in the old cereal boxes are way better than the prizes in today's cereal boxes
+ray96706 Yessir!
You don't even get prizes in the cereal boxes these days anymore it seems! (L.O.L.!)
This is my favorite movie
hahaha "meet a real ghostbuster" and the shadowy figure has the proton pack upside down! No one noticed that filming that promo ad! that's crazy!
I'm so happy they brought back ecto cooler.
I loved that cereal as a kid, It's a Shame Post or Kelloggs Didn't re make the Cereal for The GHOSTBUSTERS 30th Anniversary.
+banditshadow33 Maybe we'll get one for the new reboot movie. Fingers crossed!
I like how every book is turned around backwards except for 'Sex Criminals' and 'Infinite Jest'
i just saw thats fuckin epic bro, even saw some cereals ive never seen and ones ive always been curious about. i also gotta say i love how in the ghostbusters cereal video you managed to find all the commercials and got ahold of them. thank you sir
Thank YOU for watching!
This channel is like a post mortem for my pancreas.
This is how I got diabetes. :D
Great cereal and I remember the frisbee. Have you done a Strawberry Shortcake cereal episode? I swear that cereal caused me to break out in hives as a kid. It's the only food I tell people I am allergic to.
+Grant McAllister Haha! I haven't done it yet, but it's definitely on the list. I loved that cereal.
I never tried the cereal. However, I often sing "Frank Welker" to the "Ghostbusters" theme.
how the hell do you have so many old cereal boxes
Hoping for a new Ghostbusters as well. Fingers crossed.

I loved this cereal. They need to bring it back. Asap!

That toy car is pretty cool
I wonder which old cereal actually tasted and smelled good
Awesome! Entered the giveaway. Hope I win. Keep making awesome videos.
Maybe General Mills should do Ghostbusters cereal as a tie-in to the new reboot!
No
wait if Ralston isnt around then who's making all those boxes of raisin bran that say Ralston on the box?
Not sure. Where have you seen the Ralston cereals? I remember the name was later Ralston Purina in the 1990s. Always had good products from them. I am in the U.S.A., so maybe the name "Ralston" is in Canada, or elsewhere. Cheers
Loved this cereal so much.

Milk, juice and toast? How many kids did all three with their cereal? I know I didn't, lol.
a free toy car in a serial box wow .
what if there was a porche inside, could you still get one for free ?
I loved that cereal back then
YES!!! It's finally here! :)
They did a ghostbusters Twinkies in 2016, they were good. I remember the hallow graphic boxes. I wonder who won the car.
How did they always make sugary cereals based on toys and cartoons in the 80s?
I never had any of GB cereals before, I was on sugar restrictions at that time, meaning I cant have sugar, so I never ate it
No, cereal for promo for 2016 film but never made it but it did make the Hi-C Ecto Cooler comeback, lime Twinkies, you remembered them? both ran only for that year until the film done in theatres
When something's strange in your cereal box WHO YA GONNA CALL? GHOSTBUSTERS!
Awesome video bro 💯
This was my favorite cereal!!!
loving your channel, youve done most of my faves but wasnt there an alf cereal??
+Bionicledwarf I wish! They had Alf ice cream bars, but there was never an Alf cereal, unfortunately. That would have been amazing!
+Cereal Time TV I saw an alf cereal on a hollywood squares episode that aired back in 1987. it was actually a cheerios box that alf had altered to say alfios on the front and he had put a picture of himself on the box and then he put the box in someone else's dressing room and when the guy found it in his dressing room and showed it to the audience, alf said "I have no idea how that got there"
Now I'm off to search for that video! :)
Hey, that's me on the back of the Ghostbusters Cereal box. :)
In the hologram shirt??? No way! That's so cool!
Now I'm kinda bummed I missed out on the hologram shirt. Ha!
OMG. That is so cool! You're like a cereal celebrity! ;)
How did that photo shoot come about, if you don't mind me asking?
I'm pretty sure it was handled by Ralston Purina's ad agency, or maybe their in-house agency if that was around back then. I was hired through a talent agency locally (St. Louis), but my dad also worked at Purina in a completely unrelated department. I don't think that was a factor, but it could've been. thank you, brings back alot of good memories. have you done the mario and zelda cereal?
Hell yeah I did! Love me some Nintendo cereal! ua-cam.com/video/cBwr14N0noM/v-deo.html
The o pieces look like the number eight
those cereals was bad ass.
I am a a ghostbuster
Who eats cereal with juice and toast
i want it i an a ghost busters fan
Who you gonna crunch ghostbusters
There’s a new Ghostbusters cereal out now!
That first voice on the record sounds like Rob Paulsen, AKA Raphael and Yakko. :D
Randy Miller III I'm guessing that was Maurice LaMarche, not Rob Paulsen. Because the former voiced Egon Spengler, not the latter.
Walmart has a Ghostbusters Cereal but it's way Different from the Original
crunchy corn bran is back on the shelves in targets it's not as good as I remember we were only allowed semi sweet cereal as kids have you done one with just the original three frut loop flavors?? greetings from the best city in the world and home of General mills Buffalo ny
The best cereal ever!
There’s something new, on Cereal Time,
Who ya request on, Gabe Fonseca
Making a video about Ghostbusters, any chance it's ok for me to use the clip of you pouring GBs cereal? I'd give credit in the video description.
+Ian Burkard Of course! No need to credit me, it’s all good. Just make sure to post here and let me know when your video is up so I can watch it!
You got it! Great video, with great info by the way. :)
Just wrapped up my video here:
ua-cam.com/video/ANeiBv779LA/v-deo.html

I doubt Ghostbusters Cereal will make a comeback.
I need that flyer

You open a lot of older cereal boxes. Do you ever care about things like keeping any in mint condition? Not that I do or care myself - just wondering.
+agltbialik I did for a long time, but I finally got to a place where I was like, what's the point? These boxes could just sit on my shelves for years, unopened, but no one would get any joy or satisfaction from that. It's much more fun to open them and share them with other people.
