Great to hear your stories again! Thank you for mentioning Sprinkle Spangles! I did try that in the 90s and the kid super sweet cereals just didn't work for me anymore so I saved it as a sweet topping for ice cream! Haha!
Good on General Mills to revisit their cereals of yesteryear. It's obviously a love letter to all those who grew up during that era. As an 80s child I'd be super excited if they re-released some old out-of-production classics.
I’m more excited about the Cereal Time reboot than the Twinkles reboot. I think if you’re old enough to remember this cereal, you’re probably not buying sugary cereals anymore.
Holy moly i forgot this channel existed! Watched 10 years ago back during a dark time in my life. Your channel was and still is a goldmine for cereal lovers like me.
The only reason I even know about this cereal is because I used to listen to this classic rock station as a kid, and one of their station identification bumpers utilized a clip of the "on the outside, a story about Twinkles the Magic Elephant" slogan. Took me years to find out what it was a reference to.
OMG! I remember Twinkles. I had just turned five years old and loved elephants, so Mom bought a box of Twinkles for me. I remember that at first, the cereal wasn't sugar frosted, but that suited me just fine. I liked the oat taste. I vaguely remember Twinkles the elephant visiting "Merrie Olde England". In the story I saw Big Ben and double decker buses. I was also able to read the story because before I entered grade school, Mom home-schooled me a year earlier in the alphabet and beginning reading skills. I do remember the cartoon on King Leonardo and His Short Subjects. About the reboot - I know from experience that if someone brings back what you remember fondly, it just isn't the same.
Yeah, I hated when they dropped the OAT flour from the MONSTER CEREALS (the original formula was just like LUCKY CHARMS, made with OAT flour) but now they use only CORN flour and it doesn't taste the same.
If my memory is correct TWINKLES cereal tasted like Kellogg's STARS (featuring HUCKLEBERRY HOUND on the box). Got to find out where they're selling the revived version.
A Saturday morning treat, it may not be a regular thing but I'll take it. Definitely never heard of this one. I do kind of appreciate the storybook gimmick even though it was all in the name of selling a product.
Awesome awesome cereal so so happy to see you back man whenever you post I’ll be here once again thank you for all the cereal, education and for being awesome
Fun fact: in chile (my country) and some other south american and asian territories this cereal is named "Estrellitas" (Little stars in english) how ever this variant is produced by nestlé.
Without the oats the texture will be lost. This was one of the original shredders of the roof of your mouth cereals, only outdone later by most Quaker cereals like Quisp and Quake (Cap’n Crunch couldn’t hold a candle). I don’t think I ever had the elephant version though. My favorite was the first version of Rice Krinkles with its Chinese mascot, which I’m positive had a touch of soy sauce. I certainly remember the cereal cartoons, mostly Sugar Bear.
Welcome back! Twinkles is a cereal that I only knew about thanks to MrBreakfast documenting it. With Twinkles back, I think Big G can bring back many more old cereals, like Sugar Jets or Banana Wackies. Also, is it just me, or does the bird character look like José Carioca?
Now that you have mentioned the Twinkles cartoon, please please PLEASE also talk about the Linus the Lionhearted cartoon, also from the 1960s. It featured the Post characters from the era. No, it's not about a cereal per se, but it is so cereal-adjacent that it might as well be.
My Aunt Tye lived across the street from where my immediate family lived. I would go to her house before lunch... whenever my mother needed a break... and she would always have a cereal box treat waiting for me. A couple of trips got me a box of Twinkles. The story book on the back was what excited me. The cereal itself?.... nah, didn't like it at all. (I preferred Rice Krinkels or Sugar Pops!)
How I've missed cereal time!
I know you're only gonna pop in every once in a while but I'm glad we got this episode regardless
I knew that staying subscribed to this channel would pay off
Yes
If you ever get the chance to peep the "Roll For Cereal" segments,
the payoff rainbow will lead to a jackpot of gold!
Glad you’re back !
Man , the advertisements in the 50s and 60s were great ! 😂we need commercials like that today .

How I remember sayings with Twinkles. Like, how they said eyes twinkling or twinkle toes. I never ate the Twinkles cereal, though.
My great niece has a teddy bear she named "Twinkles".
Maybe I'll buy her a box of this cereal!
WE
ARE
SO
FREAKIN
BACK
i'm just gladd to see 1960s design coming back
Goerge S. Irving was the narrator of the "Twinkles" segments and the initial advertisements.

Can’t believe Twinkles is back never tried it!!!❤
Dang I was really holding out hope that they’d bring back the storybook box! So so endearing!!

THE LEGEND HAS BEEN BACK!
so happy to see you post again!
Very happy can see Cereal Time back again ❤🎉, from Malaysia
I grew up in the 1970s, and I don't remember Twinkles cereal, with or without the storybook packaging.
Glad to have you back.

Gabriel has returned
Thank you for covering this. I hope 2025 is a great year for you!
This is a great day when Gabe from Cereal Time gifts us a video! Thanks bro you made my day!

Missed ya, Gabe!
Cereal time needs to be back
My mom remembers this cereal! 😄She was a 60's kid.
Yay, ur back
So excited to see u return
As with their Monster cereals, looks like GM is going to have Twinkles widely available only in certain regions.
Great bday gift to see you back
Yo, that new outro theme was sick
Good to see ya
Whoa its cereal time
Wow!
Great to see your back!!!!
Having a hard time finding it here in Indianapolis.
I wonder why they changed it from oat flour to corn flour? 🤔
Yay! It’s a holiday miracle. 😆
Yeahhh new cereal
Omg your back on UA-cam that great 👍
What an interesting concept for a cereal! Although I do think think it would've been cooler if they brought back the storybook aspect.
If my memory is correct TWINKLES cereal tasted like Kellogg's STARS (featuring HUCKLEBERRY HOUND on the box). Got to find out where they're selling the revived version.
YOUR BACK!!!!
oh ya, Twinkler Sprinkler was not a smooth choice for a mascot name
HE'S BACK!!!!!!!
He’s been on tik tok just not on UA-cam
Wwwwhat 😮 he's back
A Saturday morning treat, it may not be a regular thing but I'll take it. Definitely never heard of this one. I do kind of appreciate the storybook gimmick even though it was all in the name of selling a product.
I like to see General Mills revive these cereals:
Freakies
Waffleos
Magic Puffs
Baron Von Redberry
Sir Grapefellow
Crazy Cow
Circus Fun
S'mores Crunch
And Wackies, which was a banana flavored version of Lucky Charms, sort of. Also Kaboom, because it was so colorful.
+1 for Circus Fun
Wackies and Kaboom.
Looks like the gijoe cereal back in the 80s
I think I remember Gi Joe cereal and may have had it as a kid
Awesome awesome cereal so so happy to see you back man whenever you post I’ll be here once again thank you for all the cereal, education and for being awesome
Wow, wow wow hi hi hi you don’t know how much this means to me been watching you for years on several different channels over the years
Twinks on the menu today
Trinkets is back?
If this is successful, we might see Funny Face come back, more Goofy Grape for all!! Hopefully…
We're Back
YES!!!!!!
I may have to seek that cereal out just to try it
Fun fact: in chile (my country) and some other south american and asian territories this cereal is named "Estrellitas" (Little stars in english) how ever this variant is produced by nestlé.
They don't sale it in Philadelphia
Yo Gabe I know it’s gonna be a hot minute until then but when you can could you try the new Oreo cereal that is sadly replacing Oreo o’s?

Guess who's back
‘BACK in the 60’s’ cereals series is cool but an 80’s or 90’s series would be goated!
Also, why the new outro song? 😢 The old one was perfect!
I would like to try Twinkles. P.S. welcome back to UA-cam.
When will they reintroduce jets cereal?
I remember Jets!!!!
Reminds me of King Vitaman cereal; I think they are the similar shape and flavor.
Fulton got diabetes from all that Twinkles cereal and lost his feet.
WHY ARE YOU BACK THO
I THOUGHT YOU ARE QUITTING OR SOMETHING

Oh man, I wish they’d bring back Wackies! Always wanted to try that one
YOU CAME BACK!😊
Were there any new Christmas cereals this year??
Maybe they should bring back JETS.
In Canada we have Nesquik Loaded and Cinnamon Toast Crunch loaded
CHAT IS THIS REAL?!
Are we back or is this another one off
EARLY CHRISTMAS!
Cereal that you begged your parents for in 1960. Saw Linus on WGN ,channel 9, back then in black and white.
wooooooo
If they're not going to use the original recipes, they shouldn't bother with the reboots
Maybe Fulton the Camel had lung problems like his cousin Joe.

You need to review post's new cereal oreo puffs.
It's coming out next year in 2025.
It’s already out, I have a box. But no time to make a video about it, sorry
@@CerealTimeTVI predict that post will bring back Smurf Berry Crunch cereal in 2026
