    My critiques in previous videos were not aimed at Samsung or Exynos; in fact, I find it great that we have more chipset manufacturing capacity with more players. My concern is more about ensuring consumers are well-informed, especially regarding key components like chipsets and having proper regulations in place. This channel, "TechmoRAW," is a new way to share the documentation with you with a minimum amount of editing. To drive the conclusion and make the best purchasing decision, watch other UA-camrs who conducted other tests on Exynos 2400 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Related videos:

    Hi Mo, these tests you're doing are really good and actually really what I'm looking for on youtube. Fair and equal comparison between devices.
    I've two questions: one about this video and one about probably a future video:
    You mentioned you would test light performance mode in this video, but I only see you using power saving mode. Maybe I've missed it, but as far as I know those two are different. Light performance mode can be found under Device Care and when I turn it on I get significantly lower scores in 3DMark and it produces less heat. When I watch your video where you only turn on Power saving mode, the scores in 3Dmark are pretty much the same. Maybe the 70% cpu claim of samsung isn't that accurate in benchmarks. But in Light Performance mode it does. Could you try it again on Light performance mode?
    The second question: I really like your way of testing and you're taking a lot of effort in making this content. Maybe you could go a step further and test both variants of the s24+? I know, that means shipping another device from the US/CA and that costs a lot of money, but the reason I'm asking is that other reviewers and UA-camrs seem to get way better results for the Exynos 2400 chip in the S24+ compared to the basemodel S24.
    For example:
    tweakers.net/reviews/11752/7/samsung-galaxy-s24-en-s24+-fijne-update-ondanks-exynos-accuduur-en-opladen.html
    Above is a review (in Dutch) about the the S24 and S24+ (Exynos version as Tweakers is located in the Netherlands) and you see really good results at the battery test for the S24+ (link above is linked to the battery test page). Actually in 1080p resolution AND 1440p it scores best of all phones they've ever tested.
    Now the following link is referring to the S24 Ultra review also written by Tweakers (they also test their phones in a really professional closed off lab):
    tweakers.net/reviews/11782/7/samsung-galaxy-s24-ultra-een-snufje-titanium-en-een-schep-ai-accuduur-en-opladen.html
    This review was written later then the first one. That's why the Ultra results are not showing in the S24 and S24+ review.
    The tests show actually better results for the S24+ compared to the Snapdragon S24 Ultra. Even the browsing 4g test does better. And at the same time the S24 base model is doing worse then the S23 base model, just like you found out. I don't really understand these results as the chip in the s24 and s24+ are the same, but the battery drainage is not in proportion between the two.
    Also this youtuber is showing better battery results for the Exynos version of the S24+
    ua-cam.com/video/FxE5h8Gh7SY/v-deo.html
    Strange isn't it?
    Just think about it. I'd really appreciate your way of testing and your content!

    • @TechmoRAW
      @TechmoRAW  2 місяці тому +6

      Hi, indeed interesting. My personal tests shows that S24 Ultra is doing much better in battery terms compared to S24+ Exynos:
      ua-cam.com/video/WX1wLnNUYDE/v-deo.html
      Also GSMARENA shows similar results. For example, S24+ is not doing as great as S23+ in battery life despite larger battery capacity.
      I am not saying the links you shared are wrong, different test conditions can yield different results, so each test to their own. For example the UA-camr you mentioned tested gaming on Wi-Fi.
      Regarding future videos, I don't plan to buy S24+ global version right now, as you mentioned I unfortunately do not have resources to import this version to test. It could be the case that S24+ Exynos is closer to S24+ Snapdragon since the phone is bigger and laws of thermodynamics can be in Exynos favor. If Sasmung send me the devices I would be happy to test it, but I doubt they will do so :P
      I appreciate the time you put into writing the comment.

    S24+ - SEVEN years software upgrades.
    If yo are coming from something like an S20 or something like that - then this upgrade is amazing even with the EX chip.
    Also - unless you get it form the US - you can't get the SD chip anyway haha.
    The upgrade path is great if you are coming from far back.
    If you have the S23 ... or possibly an S22.. I wonder how much better it is. Doesn't seem like your life will be significantly different unless you are using your phone as a video camera etc.
    One thing that seems to be real though is that if you have something before the S22...or S21...This seems like a real and really good update.

    • @frankreynolds9930
      @frankreynolds9930 2 місяці тому

      @myolgiden A midrange chip from 2018 can run fine today. A flagship exynos will also do fine in 7 years. No need to over exaggerate. It still has great ram, storage speeds which matters more in daily usage.
      Battery will long degrade before phone slowing due to processor. Also it only overheats in extreme test, not normal usage.

    • @chien.nguyen.
      @chien.nguyen. 16 днів тому

      @@myolgiden Whether it will live up to 7 years or not depends on Samsung's updates deciding to stifle the performance of the exynos chip like they did, but with a 7 year commitment I think they won't do that, the other thing is. depends on whether the dev is willing to optimize the application for the exynos chip or not, the exynos chip itself is not weak, it just does not have worse battery life and is 2 - 5 degrees Celsius hotter than the snap version at the same time Point is, the fact that many models have difficulty with Exynos chips is simply because the developers do not care about optimization and continued support.

  • @nilsonsls
    @nilsonsls 2 місяці тому +3

    I didn't expect Exynos to surprise me, but being marginally *worse* than last year's SD is shameful. People keep saying in the comments that it's not bad, and I agree that it's not bad, because the S23 is a great phone, and S24 is on pair with it. It just doesn't make any sense to spend extra for S24 instead of an well optimised and cheaper S23.

  • @Cptblogh
    @Cptblogh 2 місяці тому +8

    The way I see it benchmark apps and video conference destroys the exynos but nobody uses it this way that much. That means that for the regular human being: texting, using social media, Web browsing, a couple of calls via WhatsApp or telegram, UA-cam, email, won't really hurt the phone. Eventually when you use the GPS and take some pictures - unless you use it too much - won't play much of a role. The only part that sucks big time are the same old cameras, no upgrade in years, it's like a midrange phone basically. I have a Huawei P40 pro and I'm still shocked when pixel peeping the pictures are so much better and it's a 4 year old phone

    • @tuunaes
      @tuunaes 2 місяці тому +1

      Worser design/tech modem hurts precisely that standby and traditional phone use more than these heavier video involving tests.
      If you missed it, GSMArena's test had 20% drop in talk time from S23 despite of Exynos S24 having slightly bigger battery.
      Also first hour of testing in this video was using Wifi and not mobile data decreasing Snapdragon's modem advantage.
      With always screen on also giving another headstart for Exynos S24 having LTPO screen allowing saving power compared to S23.

      And S23/Sd8Gen2 is actually handicapped by fixed refresh rate screen.
      So with power saving enabling LTPO screen Sd8 Gen2 would beat Exynos S24 by more than marginally.
      Well, maybe Samsung brings that FE version with last year's chipset to give European non-ultra model without Exynos.

      No, S23 is better than S24 exynos. Better stability, less heat, more battery life. And also performs better in real life usage. S23 also beats S24 exynos in some synthetic benchmarks as well, as you can see in this video.

    I wish you could run a full test from 100 to 0% on LTE without airplane mode and then run a test on WIFI without airplane mode from 100 to 0%?

    I don't think Exynos is bad here. When you look at this test Exynos can easy last all day bateery and none of users will use phone this way, it's obviously test, right. But look this, SD 8 gen 3 is the best chipset on the market with apple, and Exynos is very close to being neck to neck. When we think about the last exynos and now Exynos it is a masive gap in quality.for daily use, none of us will notice these problems. Mostly people start complaining about Exynos because of you tube testings and itis OK because of youtubers most of this pones and better and better but i do agree for Exynos to be cheaper at least 150

      rewrite:
      My gripe with Samsung is... If the Exynos chip is less powerful than the SD chip, the S24 with Exynos should be priced lower than the S24 SD.

    Tanks MoBro 🫶🏼 I briefly thought about whether Samsung had made the s23 sd version worse with a software update, but I think my thought is nonsense. So you could say that Samsung has at least managed to improve the exynos version to the runtime of the s23 sd version🤔 right? Greetings from Germany

      oh I forgot that the battery in the exynos is bigger 😂
      Oh no Samsung. I'm sad. But I still want a Samsung mini from you with about 5" - 5.5" inches 😁

      and here I am again.... I think that's exactly what Samsung wanted. not to have less endurance with s24 ex compared to s23 sd
      ....sehr guter test denke MoBro
