    --------
Former NFL player Rashard Mendenhall discussed his unique approach to retirement. Instead of holding a press conference, Mendenhall penned a piece for the "Huffington Post." This unconventional mode of retirement announcement has now set a trend among athletes, with many choosing personalized and creative ways to retire. Mendenhall's article, which he likened to a hit single for a musician, garnered significant attention, leading to writing opportunities and even an invitation from HBO to write for the football-themed series, 'Ballers.' Mendenhall reveals how a candid discussion with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, the star of 'Ballers,' taught him the importance of having the right team for achieving success. This insight prompted him to reassess his surroundings, and build a new team for his writing production company.

The Game Plan actually did well financially. Tooth Fairy did not do as well, but it still did OK financially. On the other hand, Black Adam and Jungle Cruise are considered box-office bombs. I feel his career really blew up after his roles in the Fast & Furious movies. Those movies have done well financially. I think The Game Plan also helped because it showed his versatility.

Shout out to Mendahall for helluv career and amazing sports transition … with that said the GOAT Barry Sanders set that trend with a Fax and dip off to London retiring at the top of his game and a year before breaking the rushing record so to my recollection he set that fade to black trend and considering his popularity it’s understandable why it wasn’t as quiet as others

Pretty sure he had some kind of issues talking and getting his point across when he was a kid, so I’m sure that was a way for him to get his point across and maybe help him converse. He reminds me of a former colleague of mine who would always use his hands when conversing with anyone. I do remember him telling us he had some issues growing up and his younger brother would stutter but he was very intelligent. Always has some bright ideas.

What Franco and those that think like him don't acknowledge is that Colin Kaepernick didn't bring anything different to the game of professional football.
He just refused to celebrate the anthem of a country that facilitates and often embrace racism and bigotry!
His protest had nothing to do with football!!
The anthem itself was written by a slave owner who wrote it while engaged in a actual battle to protect the institution of slavery!
This anthem was NEVER intended to represent or recognize ANYTHING that existed outside of ideology of separation and segregation!
We only acknowledge the FIRST stanza but if you read it in its entirety (all 3 stanzas) then you would see that the language in this anthem is defiance against freedom and equality for Black Americans.

Ballers is such a good show and it just doesn't get the credit. Casting was amazing and Rock did some of his best acting in this show. The switch to skating was kind of bad imo. I agree, Colin Kapernick sacrificed his career for his stance. He continues to get clowned by both white people and even his own race, even though the stance that he took did make enough of a difference that it made the NFL take a quiet step back.

Your role model is wrong. That is the most unselfish thing to do He risked his whole career and livelyhood for the benefits of others. His role model who said that is the exact opposite. He is the selfish one because he would have put football over things that really matter in this world. All those ppl who say, don't bring it on the field, there is a place and time for it and yada yada yada , those are the ones who are selfish. They are selfish because football is more important than actual lives and their suffering.

I appreciate him not taking the opportunity to trash Kaepernick on that last question-but that Franco Harris perspective is an ironically selfish take on Kaepernick’s choice to kneel. Since Harris is basically saying that Kaepernick’s choice to risk millions on behalf of millions of poor people-is more selfish than Harris’ choice to keep his mouth shut and do what he’s told…for HIMSELF a few rich men.
I’m sure it made perfect sense when the rich man signing his checks explained it to him.
