Super helpful vid at the right time for me. Checking out a '06 6MT that has 150k miles for $8000. Based on maintenance records and Timing Belt / Water Pump situation I might try to negotiate a bit lower, but I at least know what the baseline is in this current market.
Just disconnect the factory Bluetooth module, mine still works but I don't use it of course lol.. I should disconnect it before it eventually drains out the battery at some point. Nice review jebus. BTW, I disagree with your take about the heavy steering, it's one of the best features of this car :p nice hydraulic steering ftw.
I finally sold my 2004 RSX manual after 16 years of ownership (still runs great, my nephew drives it now). I'm looking at this for my next purchase 2007-08 TL type S manual. My wife askes why not get a newer car but she just doesn't understand. Love these TL's timeless design.
Those copper wires to the starter and ground corrode and snap. That's starter was the only time it left me stranded; Ironically, while I was supposed to be taking my girlfriend to pick up her rental car, when her car broke down
I have a rsx type S and I was wondering what your opinions are between a nice clean example of these TL type s’s and the Rsx. I really like the design and rare manual 07-08, and the fact that they have LSD. But just debating for now lol
I have a soft spot for the Rsx type s cause it was my first car. I think at current market they rsx type s is just too overpriced. I get they may never come down in price again but they cost more now than they did in 2009 lol. In terms of the actual car, the Tl feels way heavier, but the motor feels way better the torque is much better. You don’t get as much vtec screaming with it though. I miss the practicality of having a hatchback though
Where did you get that blue tooth module? My front axle broke on my 2008 while driving. The CV boots begin rusting by its 10 th yea. On any Honda80’s and up. Honda’s need simultaneously water pump and timing belt need changing. Lastly the Acura RL 2005 to 2008 share the same engine. Many 3rd gen owners install the 3.5 RL(2005-2008) when the original engine goes bad.
A friend of mine in NY has a type S all Black 5SPD its beautiful he upgraded brakes with larger caliper brenbos milage is 165k and it has no rust in wheel arches. i only mention cause hes selling it but think he wants close to 12k. im sure u could talk him down if u serious.. ill throw u my email if u really interested 100% worth a look. hes a mechanic too btw his car is pretty mint. i wish i could take but i need a truck lol
i get that im on board with you on the current price he wants, jus look at EG and now even EK civic Hatches, integras and sedans what people are asking for them these days LMAO, but the market is collapsing rn as we speak for he wont have a choice but to go way down if he doesnt sell fast.. also to consider tho is the brake job thing is one of many things hes done. i cant really speak on it much further because it aint my car but i always liked them im jus not in the financial means to obtain that car because i need a daily driver not a car that is meant to take out once in a while and kept garaged like his.
I actually did a oil change very recently and I also noticed a slight oil drip. Can’t remember if I mentioned in the video but I noticed some oil on the driveway. I don’t plan on fixing it topping off for now if needed. Wby?
Yeah it throws that code always no matter what lol. Looked into it there is some different ways that could potentially fix it but not worth the time/money
Don’t think it is, well it’s probably close to the same, but on paper this has a larger engine and I think more things to mitigate torque steer. Not sure on the weight difference. What makes you think it’s faster?
@@postcutclarity lighter & better gearing I guess. Engine is the same size (3.5 liter). Even the newer 2.0 turbo Accords will outaccelerate the old TL-S.

I bought an 04 manual with 120kish miles if I remember correctly was under 7k back in 2016 or 2015

lol it’s all preference. I still have this car and daily it but I like electric steering better I think(depends on the car)
You could always push start a car with a manual if the starter or battery goes out

engine replacement is ez business and definitely worth it. worst case you invest 2k and the type s is still worth atleast 10k
Interesting
2k with labor? Gotta put a cost on your time if doing yourself.
@@postcutclarity 2k with labor, at a trusted independent shop, not saying this will reflect everywhere in the country but by me, 2k
@@reeseua7 that’s a lot cheaper than I thought how much are you getting a used engine for?
These are 18k in Arizona
Jeez

Amazon I think, it’s called bt45-hon. Brand is USA spec. Did your car take any damage when it broke?
I found an 04 base tl 6 manual with 80k miles for $3500, it’s rusty but that’s to be expected for the price
Always looking for one of these but they’re so hard to find
Super hard man took me a while

Havr an 2010 6 speed awd. Great daily.
If you ever want to get rid of it lmk. Unicorn
@Post Cut Clarity will do.
Can’t you just push to start your car with a dead starter?
Not if there is 0 crank I think
why you tow it? no starter manuals can start just buy rolling. talking from experience with my maxima
I did not know that. Even with no crank at all?
If you ever would like to sell. Please let me first in line.
tighten fuel cap

@postcutclarity replace the EGR valve with a Japan made one. The ones that are faulty are the ones from Mexico.
where can i fing for 8k or 9k cuz ill buy it rn, stop the cap they going over 13k and up
I’ll sell you mine right now for 12k lol
You can go back to 2017 and find it for $8k
V6 Accord (6MT) is another car too. Might even be faster than the TL-S 😅
Anyways I miss my 3rd Gen TL-S...Might get another.
