@@nathanielgathing659 Infiniti and Lexus are strong! Absolutely. But Nissan is still a hit and miss since it merged with Renault in 1999. Their 3.5 and variants are exceptional.
Well I have a tl but I here bmw has alot of positives with performance and everything...if you have it if money why not own a beamer....I would say if I was.loaded I'm buying a new Porsche 911
I have an 06 Acura TL automatic with 227k. The motor is super strong (but ive put a lot of work into the motor). The transmission shifts like a dream but I also change the fluids every 12k miles. While I bought it second hand most of the issues I had were strictly cosmetic. Since owning it I've replaced my two tweeters, 2x 6.5 door speakers, 8in free air sub, and 2x 6.5 rear deck speakers. I upgraded my stock amp with the 5 channel MB Quarts amp which was plug and play. Also installing a nice double din touch screen radio was awesome. I did have to get custom front and rear seats (mainly got custom front seats because it's a white car with tan interior and I still wanted heated seats on the new front seats.) I had coilovers at first but then went to air suspension. Because of the air suspension, I was only able to put in a single 12in sub. My white 06 acura tl with the Aspec kit with my purple rims turns heads. Also a downside is having to put 93 octane for gas. But I don't have any oil burning issues. Just make sure when you lower it you get a damn good camber kit. I got skunk2 upper camber arms and SPC rear adjustable control arms. Swapping my tan interior for black was a pain but for the most part I just used vinyl wrap around plastic pieces and ordered door panels for the front and back off ebay. If you know where to look there lots of aftermarket parts. Next will be to finish rebuilding the top side of the engine, then working on building up my transmission for the supercharger.
i recently got my type s for 500 its my first car ive already put 1.5k in it to get it running and i cant wait to see the car change and get better over time.

My type s has 246k miles. Love it but lotta maintenance i gotta do before i drive it again. Stupid pcv valve caused oil leaks everywhere. Also gotta replace motor and trans mounts and change fluids. I guess im one of the few who prefers automatic. A manual in busy city traffic sucks
as a TL base model owner with around 100k miles on mine here is my pros and cons. Pros first, easy to work on, pretty good aftermarket support, great headlights, fun to drive, reasonable mpg (i get mid 20's), nice quiet interior with all the options. Cons has a timing belt which needs to be replaced every 100k or 6 years which ever comes first, Brake rotors can warp pretty easy, dash is prone to cracking, headlight bulbs are expensive to replace (they are HID's), no updates to navigation software, prone to auto transmission problems (although I have had zero issues with mine), lastly requires premium gas. I'd buy one again been a great car, and has a timeless look to it.
i have 2005 TL automatic and transmission still going..135k miles. but I have been flushing the fluid since 60k miles. My 3.2 burns ZERO oil.. and as far as leaking... at 135k miles, I think they say the rear main seal is seaping very slightly.. But it NEVER drips 1 drop of oil on the floor.
I love my 07 type s, super fun, super comfortable, it has been the easiest car I’ve worked on (normal maintenance), I would swap it to manual but with my disabilities auto is easy on my body.
I’m looking to buy an automatic it’s an 07 model with 133k miles but the guy said when he starts the car that it smokes sometimes but that many times it doesn’t Is this major issue?
06 manual sport variant with 223k... Only starts to burn a little oil after 3k miles on an oil change for me... Just check it every fuel fill up. Maybe the previous owner didnt do oil changes every 5k or less and that could be why it burns more frequently. Never getting rid of it. Its basically a honda accord si no one knows about with brembo brakes, LSD, stiffer sway bars, this came out befor the type s existed.
I've been beating on my Acura TL Type s for 12 years now and it has never burned a drop of oil. The only problems I have had was my air compressor going out, crack dashboard, and fading paint.
@@DrivenCarss Your dash will crack. It will start on the passenger side first. A garage or car cover will help slow down the process but it will happen. Your Bluetooth/handsfree module will start killing your battery because it will never disconnect when the car is turned off. Other than that it's a great car. Honda had to cheap out on some things to keep the car under $40,000. Looking at everything it came with standard back in 2007 & 2008 was a good deal!
I owned many tl manuals/auto/type s and type s right now i own a 2008 tl type s and also a 2010 type sh awd but i never understood how the dashboard cracking wasn’t or isn’t a recall? til this day my 08 type s doesn’t have a crack dashboard but i know its gonna happen eventually
Just sold my 2008 base got it with 96k miles and sold it at 151k miles was reliable until the suspension kept constantly breaking like the control arms, ball joints, and axles. Put more money fixing it, then what it was worth. Never again but its fun for a first car. Also no one mentions it, but be prepared to remove the annoying rattling heat shields! And yes i was on top of my maintenance, always remember its an old car and things will break!
I had an 05 and the dash cracked and I had it replaced by Acura for 400 dollars not including the price of the dash. That was just a bought the only issue I had with it. I didn’t know this at first but if you hold the unlock button the windows and sun roof open.
I had a 01 Acura cl auto back in the day and it was ok until the tyranny said bye bye. Also it gets gapped by a 2005 Toyota Tacoma with 33 inch mud tires. Tacoma was still pulling at 120mph on the freeway
Y doesnt this thing have a timing chain so that i dont have to do timing belts every 100k. Another common problem for honda v6 in general...starter wire corrodes and breaks... So you go to start the car and it does nothing... Relatively easy fix i did myself...
