Took the Newport Vessels 55 lbs thrust trolling motor out for a spin. Spent about a half hour on the water. Prior to heading out the battery registered 12.68v just under 100% upon returning home the battery read 12.58v or just at 90% according to my chart. I am using the Everstart D27 110AH battery from Walmart.
Top speed was just about 3 -4 MPH.

I upgraded from a 28lb thrust Minnkota to the 55lb thrust Newport. I think it should get my canoe zipping right along
Love this motor. Great power & torque. Very quiet. Doesn't faze my Optima battery. Minimal assembly. Gets me around the lake and pond nicely.

How many AMPs is the battery you used in this video?
This is a helpful video, I'm thinking of electric for a 21' day sailer. But people should understand that a small trolling motor/50 lbs. thrust won't get you home in heavy surf with a head wind.

What battery size are you using and how long does it last in 1-3
I've read some reviews that the motor is loud. Do you hear it being so loud that it can spook fish at low speed? I'm thinking of purchasing one for fishing freshwater but I'm worried about it being too loud. Thanks
