this is so funny, we have the a 1978 Berwick which we bought in November so had some lovely trips out from Christchurch our home town. We also have the exact same set up with the tender!! Sometimes testing in a running tide, just have to pick your times :)

Hi Paul, thanks for your comment. We too were once based on The Solent a few years back. Lovely sailing around there, we were back there recently its in one of our episodes with Sailing Sibongile. We're going to have an experiment when we get to sunnier climes on keeping our battery for the electric outboard chedged up. We'll we will see how it goes.
Hope your enjoying our episodes. Happy sailing.

Great channel. I just subscribed. Although more a dogperson, I love PJ.....a cat with an attitude in the right sense. And my girlfriend struggled with her Dutch neighbours over 20 years. Now a young Polish couple live nextdoor. Best neighbours ever!

Thanks for subscribing. We're glad you enjoyed this episode. PJ has certainly got an attitude but he's getting better, we've had him almost 3 years now. Luckily for us he enjoys travel. Nice to hear you've got good neighbours at last. 👍

Looks ideal and reliable and seems to have the power needed for two people plus their provisions to go out to their boat , saves getting bounced about while getting a temperamental two stroke outboard to start on a cold rainy choppy sea 👍.

Definitely worth the price, would go for a 68lb next time. Nice and relaxing though

Thanks for this video! good to see how things perform in the real world for real people. I've been looking at outboard options and had pretty much decided on the mariner 3.3hp but you've changed my mind. Just ordered a 68lb Bison, so hopefully it performs as well as yours in this video. 🤞 BTW did you get any spare parts etc, I'm wondering how easy repairs might be in the future? Be interested to hear if you've looked at that side of things?

Yes we got a spare propeller and fittings but spares should be easy enough to come by. 😁

I do like the quiet ride and it seems to move you well.

@@rod7373ye definitely a lot quieter than a petrol and no smoke or refuelling.

Great video, will you recommend Bison? I need an electric for casual rides on my 4mt inflatable. Mostly around Dorset coast. No sure what battery I will need but should be able to get past initial coastal waves. Around 10-15mile trips

Yes, absolutely recommend Bison, but next rime I would get the 12 volt 68lb thrusr model. The 68lb model will definitely get you past the coastal waves.
10-15 mile trip might be a bit ambitious for a 12 volt
Is your boat permanently inflated, like in the water or on a trailer?
