Procreate are the heroes of creative tech. No subscriptions, fair price, free updates. They have rock solid values as a company in working to benefit the consumer before themselves. I don’t even animate and I will buy this just to learn and use their app.
I was fully on board when I saw the flat price. I’d rather pay for more new features or a new build separately based on my need instead of paying a subscription model(similar to how software typically was delivered prior to the subscription boom). I have zero experience with animation but this price makes it possible for me to give it a shot
@@sneakingelephantJust be warned the this isn't frame-by-frame, so you won't be learning real animation and your animations will appear mechanical and stiff. If you want to develop animation skills, wait until an update allows for true frame-by-frame animation.

Honestly procreate is the main reasons I bought an iPad and I think Dreams will be just as awesome

I got my iPad Pro to use procreate when I wanted to create NFTs!
@@ALLISMINDyes they will make a ton of money with those $20 but you have to remember that they constantly actualize and give support, so what the OG comment say is true, they could charge more including a subscription model, but they decide to just give us a one time purchase. I love it, I don’t know if that would be maintainable, though. Probably in some years these apps will also be including a subscription model, just like clip studio did, but until then I will enjoy them.
It's called farming. Their patient +10 yrs to build a dependable customer base, then sell the business to Adobe/Autodesk. And checkmate, you are subscriber for Life.

I don’t mean to overstate this, but you guys are literally changing the world with your software. Making it possible for artists to bring dreams to life? That kind of thing is world changing. What ideas will be introduced to the world, what stories told…because Procreate invested in a tool like this for storytellers. Love it. Can’t wait.

This looks like an incredibly impressive piece of software, all running on an ipad no less. The Procreate team is seriously awesome, thank you for making a stand against AI art / diffusion models too. If its priced anything similar to Procreate itself, it’ll have really good value compared to the other extremely expensive animation software out there. I really think it’ll make professional quality animation accessible to more people.

It's amazing how a company can rightfully support their users by listening. I was genuinely on the brink of buying another software for animation, but here goes Procreate delivering as usual. My main passion was art and animation. I just couldn't leave this app and now it adds one of the best features to one of the most user friendly apps around. Then, they add zoom-ins to the animation timeline? They event answered all my questions in this trailer alone. They're catering to ALL animation types in a singular app. Well done, honestly!

This isn't a big advancement in animation software. But it just may be a huge advancement in animation accessibility. Procreate was a game changer in making quality, easy-to-use digital art software available to the masses, allowing more people than ever to make high quality (even professional level) digital art. If Dreams can do the same for animation, we're going to see a LOT of wonderful new things in that art form.
This isn’t revolutionary it’s just a quality app on iPad (wish they just updated pre existing animation for the app they already made. Cuz I brought the app for its animation features)

Same!!! I understand tho that the gestures help tremendously with the ease of learning but I think if they change them to keyboard shortcuts this would be just as amazing as on desktop
100% agree. Especially if you have a Mac, using Universal Control between the iPad and your computer would be life-changing. Dragging different drawings from Procreate to Dreams instantly with no download times or latency whatsoever would be a next level experience!

oh i am glad we let them cook. i thought they are gonna make this inside procreate but a standalone app gives us so much more legroom. I am in love with this already. gonna buy it the moments it's available. the procreate team is carrying again!!!

In the event, did anyone hear something about some of these features being available just for Procreate? I don’t mean the whole animation tools which will be in their new app, but features such as their new file type, brush engine, and the apparently gargantuan 1 million x 1 million pixel resolution canvas, or will all of it solely be for Procreate Dreams?
Yeah, they did say that the improvements would come to Procreate, specifically the iCloud sync and iirc the Brush engine. I would assume all the ones that make sense for Procreate will come since the two apps are meant to work in sync.

Absolutely in love with this!! Procreate made art feel possible for me with all the features it has over both traditional and other non-subscription programs I'd tried. So excited to see this as someone who always stared at 2d animations with the same "I wish I could do that" feeling as I had with digital art!

Words cannot describe how excited I am to get to use this. I’m a 2D game developer, and have been using procreate for the art and photoshop for the colour correction and importing etc but I’ve always struggled with translating the art style I’m able to create with proceeate into animation software for cutscenes etc. cannot wait to work with this.
i am so excited for this! and the fact that its coming on my birthday, is even more special! i always wanted to animate in procreate more frames, and its finally my chance, and you can do sounds?! I can make a whole movie, and the fact that you said this: “Now anyone can animate, record motion or effects through touch and instantly respond to the movie as it plays.” is gonna make it so much easier to animate!

I am so excited for this, I’ve been animating on procreate ever since I’ve gotten the app and it’s literally the only app I will animate on because it’s simple and easy for me to use. This is a huge step forward with animation, not just mine, but other people who animate on procreate, or in general as well, and I’m looking forward to the app!

Dude I’m so gonna try this out in November, it actually looks like clip studio paint, Tv paint and all that combined, AND £20 for this quality?? I can finally create the series I’ve been dreaming to make but couldn’t find any animation app suitable for both detail and the right tools {flipaclip is good, but not suited for details} so THANK YOU Procreate team!!

I'm kind of sad too, especially because I only bought this app a week ago, but it is what it is. If you really want to animate that badly then you could've used other softwares. But they come with an annual fee. Sometimes even a monthly one.
But this is a one time purchase of $20. Think about it.
It's not like the animation function on the base app is gone.
This is just awesomeness.. never ever imagined procreate being a tool for drawing and creativity would bring in such elegant features for animation embedded.. this could change the usage of users in lots of ways as depending on drawings and artworks alone and then exporting to a animation software is always a pain.. but with features coming in like this would change the perspective of lots of users.. love this.. always been a fan of pro create and now its levelled up 🎉🎉

2 cool ideas (Procreat dreams team)
(work with many people on 1 file at the same time for example while im working on the 4th minute mark my friend or college can work on the 10 minute mark and so on)
This work flow can rival the greatest studios imagine a 20 people team working on 1 project at the same that truly is the dream the amount of jobs you guys will create by doing this is mind bogeling truly a step into the right direction
second idea
(character rigging like many cartoons use these days maybe you guys can make a 3d model overlay and you can simply put the characters details were they belong this way you dont need to label everything it simply goes were you drag it on the 3d model)
as procreates moto is hazzle free workflows this is perfect way to simplfy this even more is mirror mode were you only have to drag 1 hand for both to be put in place

I mostly bought an iPad last year for media consumption and Procreate and this looks really cool! I just wished that Procreate was availably on Android and Windows because of devices like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and Microsoft Surfaces 😅

I'm in. I bought my first iPad last April, and did the extra investment in procreate. It was a frikin jump from where I was before. I've been using procreate since, nothing else, I have improved so much!! Thank you guys. You are making my goals a reality.

Just drawing comics on my Ipad Pro with Procreate makes the damn thing overheat...no idea how it's going to run animation lol
@@dookula That's odd, depends on how long you use it for but i've never experienced overheating through long uses

MINDBLOWING doesn't even cut it! Amazing work pushing the boundaries and revolutionizing both drawing and now even 2D animation! I watched the talk and two questions: I am at awe how large a dimension of artwork you can create in Dreams but there has to be a limitation to the layers just like in Procreate? Or You can create UNLIMITED LAYERS with 1M x 1M dimension and it also saves UNLIMITED UNDOs? :O Seriously? If so, then what witchcraft is this... haha.
My second question: Do you need the latest iPad Pro running the M2 chip to even be able to install this app when it releases? Or can anyone with compatible iPad Pro (3rd gen and up) can install and get the benefits?

I checked on their website and even watched their keynote. No info on any specific features anywhere, why is that?
Is it just frame by frame animation? Does it have a rig system? tweening? deformers? Any effects that's not just playing with blend modes? We can't even see the UI fullscreen to see the tools it has.
What am I signing up for exactly? I can't buy your piece of software unless I know what I'm getting.
