I think you like to set a goal and state it on here so that it keeps you going You are an inspiration to the ones who have thought about doing what you are doing but needed the little push to start
Love my 3490! These machines are incredible and you can get a lot of work done in short order however, they are NOT brute force go through anything machines. When you get into nasty wood it requires that you pay attention to what you are doing to efficiently get the job done. The coolest part is that when you get to a majority of the wood, the super fast knife speed yields lots of wood in a hurry. Thanks for the mention Lucas!
Lucas, I cut two trees this morning, but I have to explain forestry management to my wife every time I pull out a chainsaw. I tell her all the time that the tree is dead, but the leaves just don’t know it yet. As she operates the log splitter more she is learning that what I am saying is the truth. The truth stands firm even in silence. God Bless
Love the video Lucas! Keep up the great work, cant wait to see what your equipment shed is gonna look like when its done. We're impressed that you began your stump on the return stroke of the splitter and made it work. We normally recommend to start on the power stroke on large rounds but, you made it work and thats awesome!
Yeah, for sure you have a little more push on the power stroke. I’m all about just showing what happens and the stroke was out so I figured why not try it? This machine will get it done. It is all in what your daily needs are…
Hey Lucas, another good one! Not sure you noticed, but about the 16:20 mark your loader hydraulics was going down. I've never had that issue with my B2601 - always be safe and aware. Kind regards
Oh yeah, mine drop steadily. I’m not sure what that comes from, but mine does it pretty bad. I have to be careful with it. Thanks for the heads up though!
New subscriber, I like what I see so far 👍 Good splitting. Even with the bigger machines sometimes you have to whittle down the big ones instead of doing a through split.
I like your vídeos, l learn moore about the wood and saw mill ,lm so happy to buy my saw mill than l have a dreams already runing that thing and still not ready yet.😅
Pretty impressive Lucas on the splitter. I could see it was a real difficult piece but it got through it. Looks like a really hardy splitter. Sitting on the edge of my seat wondering if it will be the TYM 2515??? BTW, that oak you took was dying so , yeah, you are a good steward of this planet.
Evolve?? That’s a good way to put it. I’m the same way with my projects. Don’t really have a plan. I just go after it. Love the storage barn plans. Great idea. Are you planning a dedicated fire pit somewhere for all your scraps?
Yeah, when you’re doing new things it’s nearly impossible to look ahead and know what you’re going to need. Comments from viewers help with that some. Right now we are using a burn barrel. Between that and the wood chipper we are keeping up ok for now.
If you find a type of wood your looking for that happens to be a healthy tree, I see no problem taking it down. As long as it goes to good use, then thats what it’s made for!!
Lucy’s I might be from the UK but I am country borne and bred so understand the way you think and agree with you If only more people had more understanding of this then they would not use up fresh country land and use BROWN LAND for building and save the country land for farming and nature as the more land that’s used for building the less there is for food production and the country then becomes food short and can’t feed themselves resulting in be dependant on other countries to feed themselves I have been told that during WW2 the UK was 3 days away from starvation all the time and relied on foodstuff coming in daily My parents were not of age to fight but they BOTH worked on the land doing sometimes 15 hr days clearing land that was though no good for food production but it was producing food after a lot of hard work plus the wood never got wasted either so planking or fire wood fir the local people or worker’s families Keep doing what you are doing and block them idiots as they have NO IDEA what it is to work the land and keep it heathy
Absolutely! I wanted to find the limit and share that so people can get a good idea in comparison to their needs. It will definitely get the job done. 👍
Being real. Some part of my soul is sorry every time I have a cut a tree down. I realize our connection to nature. My youngest daughter loves the outdoors and trees, and told me I'm hurting the Earth by taking a tree down. I've been teaching her about all of the things that you mentioned in the video about rotting trees, being responsible stewards, and stuff. But, I also teach her how New Growth makes more oxygen than Old Growth forests. After I clear an area of my property, we'll go back through afterwards, pick some good spots, and plant some new saplings (Red Oak, White Oak, Beech, and we've even planted some Apple and Peach Trees. We have a great time doing that. "A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit." -Greek Proverb
Right on! I’m with you. I do take it seriously. Just like taking an animal or having a cow butchered. I understand that is why they are here, but there is a recognition of its life and value. It is a hard thing to put into words. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and your approach.
Trolls wil find something wrong with everything you do. They are lazy couch potatoes.keep doing what makes you happy. Love the content, have a great day.
Split-Fire is great to work with. The 4490 is a beast, but truthfully, if I were buying, I’d still buy the 2265. In general, it is plenty of splitter for what we are doing.
Great last video. I loved the comment from some of viewers about cutting down the trees and losing some of the oxygen that they create. Well to all you naysayers, grab yourself an oxygen tank you are going to need it. I planted about 1400 tree’s 35 years ago and every one of them was planted with the intent to cut them down. Mine were planted as an invest for me and my family, all hard woods. My only question for all the nay naysayers is what are your doing to save our planet? Keep on harvesting with responsibility and conservation.
Hi Lucas, at least you use the wood from the trees you cut down, it not like you cut then just leave them. In my opinion some people have nothing better to do the criticize others, sometimes I think they are just jealous. Blessings
People don’t understand that poor forestry maintenance is what causes forest fires, I live up in Minnesota and the past 2 years Canada has had horrible problems with forest fires causing bad breathing conditions for us. This is mostly due to them leaving dried up dead logs everywhere (although the years have been particularly dry)
Lord you have millions of tooth pics at your beck and call to stick em. Good point on forestry, all trees will die and fall down, then it is a waste of a resource and, it is renewable when managed right. These logs are about the size we have and larger here on the farm. I am looking at the next one up and hoping they will add electric start soon and its a sale..
Yeah, I think the next size up is perfect if you can afford the step up. The cycle time is still super fast, but it will have the grunt to handle bigger logs easier. I hope to see e-start as an option soon. 🤞
i am getting really close to getting a grapple for the RK55. i just cant make up my mind which one i want. i am leaning toward the titan 29'' log grapple. its affordable and after watching videos on it i think it will suit my needs. however, for about enough less to buy the third function kit, i can get the adjustable pallet fork add a grapple that i think will fit my needs. any suggestions from you or other viewers would be greatly appreciated. keep in mind, budget friendly. its main purpose will be handling firewood poles and some brush cleanup. thanks yall
I would recommend finding an Ironcraft dealer nearby and checking out their options. I believe they have some root grapples that are less expensive than that Titan log grapple and in my opinion Ironcraft makes better quality implements. Keep me posted on what you find!
I feel like I needed a close up of the screw in the Viennes. 🤣🤣
😂🤣 I’m shocked this is the first comment about that.
😂😂😂😂
I think you like to set a goal and state it on here so that it keeps you going

I do. Accountability.
Great Job Mr Lucas. Thise splitter are extremely nice
Thanks, Bud! 👊

You bet! Thanks for watching!
Before I cut a tree, I give it a big hug. Makes it all OK!!!! lol
😂🤣Yesss!

You definitely start to see and understand it all more as you work with the wood. 👊

Love you videos and the comments about the haters. You're right they don't live in the real world.
Thank you! 👊
At least you didn’t tag your Kubota! Those look like nice logs. I have milled plenty of 12” logs. Nice to manipulate on the mill.
New subscriber, I like what I see so far 👍 Good splitting. Even with the bigger machines sometimes you have to whittle down the big ones instead of doing a through split.
Thanks so much! I’m really still learning tricks, but I am loving this machine. It does great!

Thanks! Good luck!
Great stuff as always, Lucas
Thanks, Buddy! 👊

I am on the edge of my seat too! I have a couple of deals nailed down. Waiting on prices from a couple more. I will be making a decision very soon

Completely agree! Trees are a crop with a lifespan and to leave them too long means they will go to waste. 👊
Lucy’s I might be from the UK but I am country borne and bred so understand the way you think and agree with you
If only more people had more understanding of this then they would not use up fresh country land and use BROWN LAND for building and save the country land for farming and nature as the more land that’s used for building the less there is for food production and the country then becomes food short and can’t feed themselves resulting in be dependant on other countries to feed themselves
I have been told that during WW2 the UK was 3 days away from starvation all the time and relied on foodstuff coming in daily
My parents were not of age to fight but they BOTH worked on the land doing sometimes 15 hr days clearing land that was though no good for food production but it was producing food after a lot of hard work plus the wood never got wasted either so planking or fire wood fir the local people or worker’s families
Keep doing what you are doing and block them idiots as they have NO IDEA what it is to work the land and keep it heathy
Great thoughts! Thanks for the comment! 👊
If it was dry it would split easier. But the fact it did it is a good sign of how good the machine is
Absolutely! I wanted to find the limit and share that so people can get a good idea in comparison to their needs. It will definitely get the job done. 👍
It has more power on the cylinder out stroke then the return from what others have said.
@@tpctrash correct. It isn't a huge difference, but it does.
I have the same splitter I'm fixing to find out how it likes some 36-in red oak rounds
Right on! That will be fun!
