Please people don't let your kids live 17 years without hearing Queen
😂
I can't imagine living 17 years without listening to queen hell no
i lived 15 years lol
I was 8.
so so true. my kids were raised on Queen!! (41, 38 and 35 now)
Roger's performance caused many men in the 80s to ask themselves some searching questions.
not just the 80;s
Freddie stripped to the waist wearing tight leather trousers made me ask a few questions.
Not me, I said to my wife, "Damn, well I wouldn't say no to him", and she responded, "Me neither".... Oh happy days.
edward brand that’s cute
Lol
I mean, can we talk about how hot Roger looks dressed as a woman? like better than me ;)
Lol!
I always thought exactly that too.
And me !!!!!!!😊😊
Rogerina looks more like a woman than I do
Never better then you Rossella
That little hurried walk when Freddie enters the room in the second living room section gets me everytime.
Few things in life make me as proud to be British as Queen. Bloody legends.
I wish my wife looked as hot as Roger Taylor
Omg haha i love this comment 😁😁😁👍
chris4072511 ok Chris calm down now
Rogerina
Is your picture a smelt
@@sdbassing2250 no idea, it just looked like an archetypal fish
Freddie loved opera and the parts that wasn't them dressed as women was a tribute to that.It was Roger's idea to have them dressed up. They were characters from a soap. 👍🏻
Coronation Street was the soap
@@wrathchild68 yeah and unfortunately the U.S. didn't get the joke..some were freaked out about the way they dressed..ridiculous..
@@freddiemercury4evr Culture Club broke the ice which the video became one of the popular of all time.
@@Spitfirethedragon I love Culture Club. What year and what video do you mean?
@@freddiemercury4evr The same year when Karma Chameleon came out. When it hit number 1, MTV started playing I Want To Break Free and it hit their top 20 video countdown.
Roger Taylor was far too cute in that video.
Who is Roger Taylor? I Just see ROGERINA...
I read in a article that he look like his grandmother or aunt, which folks praised him on it. Lol
@@tekah3202 Roger Taylor Swift! :-)
IKRR
Certainly was!
On the 9th of December, Coronation Street (a soap opera, not a sit-com) will have been on the air for 59 years!
@nordhorny I shouldn't of laughed at the but it just blurted out. I have a friend who never missed an episode of Coronation Street for 25 years until she moved abroad. It's not my cup of tea infact I'd rather watch paint dry. Queen are cool though 😁
@nordhorny lol.......I laughed my head off reading the main comment then immediately reading yours.
Queen and Freddie loved to push the boundaries just like Madonna did with Like a Prayer its funny how this was banned on MTV in the 80's with the stuff that has come after it
Considering it was British bands that created MTV back in the day.
I’m starting my kids out young! My daughter is 7 and my son is 4, and they both love Queen and have watched bohemian rhapsody like 30 times 🤣🤣 so they are well always of who Freddie is which makes this mama proud and their grandpa even prouder 🙌🏻
Everybody, who wants to live his/ her own life, can relate to this song.
100% 👍
Freddie Mercury had such a Machine gun voice so powerful, theres never been or ever will be anyone like him!! RIP
This is like totally one of my most favorite Queen songs!!
*ditto*
My favourites are 39' and all dead all dead 😔✌
Awesome! It was also Roger's girlfriend's idea to dress in drag. The instrumental segment featured members of the royal ballet, of which Freddie was a huge fan. In case either of you wondered, the device on Brian's bedside table in the opening moment is called a tea-maid. Its a combination kettle and alarm clock thats supposed to boil water for tea when the alarm goes off or something, but it was reputedly unstable. Speaking of film soundtracks, could the two of you react to Princes of the Universe and Who wants to live forever (official music video Freddie and Brian shared vocals) from the Highlander soundtrack?
YES, I do plan to do Highlander music, l love the first movie and the soundtrack! Thanks for the comment.
* Teas-maid
I think he did one for Who wants to live forever.
@@dalesides1490 Yes, but live at wembley. I was suggesting the studio version/music video with shared vocals with Brian.
@@gavinparks5386 Teasmade, actually! :)
Pretended I’d not heard this before.
Fell in love with Queen all over again. ❤️💡🕊
Should have asked your son what he thought of Roger Taylor in this lol
If Freddie was alive he would love to see us having joy and laughing while watching him 🤵🏻💎🙏💕
I believe he's always with us..and yeah, loving our reactions..
Love Freddie so handsome and fun (BEST SINGER ENTERTAINER EVER) Very Great band Best band ever Best Drummer and those Guitar Men" BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The people in costumes were members of the Royal Ballet company..Freddie loved ballet and dancers..he was so artistic..Miss him still...
I love the bond you have with your son and the fact that you are introducing him to the best music. Queen and Freddie Mercury in particular are still beloved in the u.k.
John Deacon wrote this as he wanted to break free from the grind of constant touring and spend more time with his family. Nothing to do with woman's lib!
Yeah I've never heard that this song had anything to do with women's lib.
I don't remember it being banned in Texas, since I saw it on MTV near the time of its debut.
Agreed however that’s what I thought years ago when I first heard it. Disappointed that it wasn’t. Woman still didn’t have much of a voice
Long live Freddie !
One of the best voices of a century!
Flash, aaaa, ahhhh !
Freddie Mercury owned the Live Aide stage!! Most perfect in every way!! I still remember watching as a kid, goosebumps ❤🇬🇧
The son's kind of "what the hell?" look at the beginning says it all. LOL
Freddie Mercury and Queen are perfection !!! First Rock album I ever got was A Night at the Opera - and I've been a massive fan ever since.
As a brit, if you can raise a kid to 17 without them being familiar with this video... You have failed as a parent.
This is how teenagers vacuum 😅
lol fr?
The "artsy" part is a tribute to the ballet ""The afternoon of a faun" from 1912. Freddy shaved his moustache to portray Vaslav Nijinsky the man who choreograped the original ballet and danced the lead role.
And was GAY AF. Learn your LGBTQ history, damn it! 🌈🌈🌈
And who purportedly orgasmed when being rolled over the dancers' bodies, a fact well known to Freddie when he was performing this part.
And the dancers were from the Royal ballet company.
What you saw was a sequence from “Prélude à L’Après-midi d’un Faune..performed by members of The Royal Ballet, and Freddie (of course!).... Freddie performed with The Royal Ballet Company...it’s here on UA-cam🤩
Спасибо вам,что показали мальчику крутую группу!🤘Фредди ❤
Coronation street is a really popular soap that's been screened here in the UK since 1960. The characters they were (loosely) supposed to be based on were Roger - Suzy Burchell; Freddie - Bet Lynch; Brian - Hilda Ogden; John - Ena Sharples. Long time gone now but you can Google them. It is a very British thing lol
Love how you share the genius that was Freddie Mercury with your son. Very cool.
There was a man who was very much in touch with his feminine side!
David Palahinjak Roger has better legs than I do so does Freddie
Queen was defenietly embracing that side. They were an example of positive masculinity, not afraid of dressing up, being vulnerable and showing their emotions in their songs. Also they were totally fine with Freddie being bisexual, so it says a lot about them. Love the guys
Is anyone watching the father and the kid? All eyes are on Freddie ....
My eyes on Roger ^^
@@roundhatrover35 lmao me too
And rogerina 😂
Roger turning round cracks me up every time
He’s right, this video was banned here in the US and they were very ticked off! Roger looked too cute as the schoolgirl 🤣
Hi gentlemen. So I'll take a stab at interpreting the dance section, lol. Freddie plays the role of Dionysus(Greek)/Bacchus or Liber Pater(Roman) god of wine, fertility, freedom, and ecstasy, hence the grape-eating; and is surrounded by his chorus of followers who are all celebrating and enjoying their personal freedoms as well. Very astute symbolisms to support the meaning of the song, imo. I loved it.🔥❤
the ballett scene is from nijinsky's afternoon of a faun
@@sodapop83 the costume is also identical
Freddie identified himself with both Nijinsky and the Faun character he played. Sexual identity and gender role are key to the "I Want to Break Free" video.
@@sodapop83 Good to know! I was a Literature and Poetry major and studied mythology, so I was just giving my perspective.

The odd thing about this vid getting banned by MTV, is that they didnt ban Round and Round by Ratt which had Milton Berle in drag.
Dad, you are one if a kind, to show this to your son. Kudos!! Sense of humor intact.
So cute how the other guys agree to makeup and costumes. Very creative indeed.💜
Congrats on almost a million views on your other video. I'm glad I'm not the only person who watches UA-cam videos of people watching UA-cam videos.
Lol, yep, who knew there was an audience for this stuff :)
In the UK, we have an extremely popular programme called "Gogglebox". It is literally just people watching and commenting on the previous weeks telly programmes. Love your channel btw.
@@denisepollitt1021 Very cool, I did not know that about that program, interesting. Thanks for the comment and for the support!
Love Queen, their songs are endless
Epic Queen! The beginning and end of the video was supposedly a satire on the British soap opera Coronation Street!
Queen will always Rock🎸
You never stop a Queen song,.... to make some silly comment....EVER.
Do you want the Copyright overlords to take the videos down instead???
Don’t watch a reaction and commentary video if you don’t want reactions and a commentary.
The balletic sequence is an homage to a very famous ballet, Afternoon of a Faun, by Nijinsky.
Come on, you gotta get a kick outta Brian May in curlers. Queen is Queen an you gotta love it.
That kids face when Freddie first walked on..priceless
Roger is such a gorgeous "girl", look at these legs :))) But Freddie 's legs are not bad too
Still one of thier best videos and songs. Queen has great music no matter what.
That's the first time ever I have seen your son head bopping along to a song!
Thanks for reacting to this track. It's actually is the first ever *Queen* song I heard in my life (in 1991, I's 10 then). No wonder I instantly became a devotee to Queen/Freddie since then. And, this number's among my MOST FAVORITE songs (Queen or any others') till date.
Anyway, you guys do great job here, love it much.
Advance best wishes for your son- cheers [_iiiiiiiiiiii_]
This whole "drag" idea was Rogers to start with! Roger also got in drag for the "Great Pretender" video. Again, he was hilarious!
Davy Jones from The Monkees and Peter Noone from Herman's Hermits both acted in Coronation Street in the early 1960s.
DO PRINCE!!!! He needs to listen to him. The way that guy re-defined masculinity.
When this first came out, yes I’m that old, we were all amazed with how ‘Sexy Lady’ the drummer was!!!👄
I like the way your son was looking at this amazing videoclip ...
I love this guy!!! Omg He had a smile the whole way thru thats how I am when I watch them!!! Keep going!!!
Not only a great voice but a show man.
that boy first impression be like: Am i allowed to watch this?
Everything they did was an artistic production and really out of the box- This is one of their greatest songs not as well known because it didn't get played at the time.
Not many father's would watch this video with their son and be this cool about it.
The time when Roger Taylor made everyone question their sexuality. Also, Brian fits the role of that Mother-like woman SO MUCH! (He is literally the only sane one in the band lol)
I love following him on Instagram. What a down to earth person...
@@littlesushie I know, I follow him as well lol. Wholesome to say the least.
Coronation Street is the world's longest running soap opera.
Speaking of soap operas Brian May is married to a soap star from the 80s.
Yes, the rival Eastenders
Coronation Street is the longest running tv soap in the World. The ballet part was a tribute to a famous ballet staging by Nijinsky. :)
The video killed their career in the US for a while. The UK and the rest of the World still loved them though. :)
This is my first video of yours and I really appreciated the info lesson that you had at the beginning for your son and for others (like myself) who didn't know all of the behind the scenes info. Thank you and keep it up!!
This 1984 video is based on Coronation Street - a (once) very popular British soap opera. It was filmed during a time of UK strife with the miner's strike. Hence the surreal influence of the miner torch light scene
I'm fairly certain it's the top 10 watched video in Nov 2019 because of meee! LOLOLOL! I am obsessed! Love your exposing/educating your teen to Queen. We must continue to do so!
The times might have come forward but the attitudes haven't. You don't have to scratch that much to be surprised what there is to be found still. There's lot of surrealism ala Federico Fellini in that video as well. "Another One Bites The Dust" certainly restrored the band's popularity.
Another one bites the dust was years before I want to break free. This song and the band pretty much ended Queen In the USA. Freddie Mercury never came back to the US to tour.
@@Nina-oi1qk Indeed, I remembered them in the wrong order. "Another one" rose to the renewed fame due to 1st Gulf War.
why did you give the whole thing away to the kid at the beginning...?
Written by John Deacon and at the suggestion of Roger Taylor and his girlfriend at the time they did it in drag. Freddie wanted to shave his mustache but they told him not to do it. This is a funny video and a great song.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
The 1st video ever banned on MTV was another Queen song: Body Language. A saucy video with saucy lyrics.
Thanks a lot!!! 🥰
It’s an amazing song..!! I Love Queen and Freddie Mercury..!!! 💔💔💔💔
And I love see you and your son, sharing moments like this!! ✅✅
Never knew the back story. Thanks!
One of my favorite videos.
I loved the song and the video when it came out. Definitely wasn't happy that it got banned. I also love how it was Roger Taylor who suggested they dress in drag.
A little background on the odd scenes with Freddie and a the group of people; that scene was from a ballet that he was part of. He learned ballet in 6 weeks I think it was, and that was the end result. It was also used a bit in the "No One But You (Only The Good Die Young)" Official Video.
Love this song! Great reaction.
If you haven't heard it, or it's been a long time since hearing, you MUST do The Prophet's Song by Queen. It's a perfect example of how progressive and heavy Queen could get in their heyday. It's off of A Night At The Opera (same album as Bohemian Rhapsody) - an absolute EPIC track!!
I was blown away when I found out the video was banned in the US, cos here (UK) it was on prime time pop tv shows at least once a week.
Respect to you sir, the only American reaction guy who did research of something before he does the vid👍
I love this channel and your knowledge. Greetings from Sweden
I think the middle of the video is what the song says. He's breaking free to be what he wants to be. Flamboyant and artistic. It did it's job. Folks are still talking about it. ;-)
In response to "Flash Gordon", it was a WONDERFUL vehicle for Dino DeLaurentis' sense of over the top grandeur and Art Deco design.
Queen - Innuendo
Genius song. Like most QUEEN songs!
Here in Australia this song was used for a lotteries advert...i want to break free...
times sure changed...was constantly beat up in school for liking Queen...called many derogatory names and slurs...now all who did that to me are the biggest Queen fans of today..and misses the band...rip Freedie the best singer and show person and stage presence there was....from a lifetime devoted fan...
I'd love to see a reaction to Queens earlier stuff like " Keep Yourself Alive" or "Liar"!
To put them dressing in "drag" into context, in the United Kingdom, we have a long history of men dressing up as women, the most common being the Pantomime Dame which is always a man dressed as a women ie Widow Twankey, by contrast the Prince in the Pantomime was usually a woman.
It really isn't an issue over here.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantomime
Yet the US had Liberace!
Love Queen! Don't Know if they ever did a bad song.
Lemmy Mace Hot space in 1982 was the worst selling album they had but I still liked at least four songs off of the album. It wasn’t as popular because it had a lot of funky dance music on it because after “another one bites the dust”was such a hit, The band honestly thought that people in America and around the world would love this type of stuff. They made an album and their rock part followers hated it. Roger and Brian we’re not even thrilled about this album.Fred and John were OK with it but not the other two. Roger said that Paul Prenter had a lot to do with Freddy wanting to do this album and Roger said that he didn’t want to do anything that sounded just like he walked into a gay club. I didn’t see any problem with it but some people that did like the harder rock part of queen didn’t pair for that Album and the sales were much lower than the other albums they ever put out. That album had “ under pressure”
& “ back chat”& body language on it. The body language song was good but I didn’t care much for the video.
@@montereyharris1277 maybe one or two songs but not more than that.
@mhffc ya I can agree with that.
I was smiling throughout the whole video omg-
I freaking LOVE that bookcase in the background!
And you can tell your Son, Queen are the first ever make a Musicvideo .......a Real Musicvideo ....
Coronation Street is a very long running, and very popular soap opera not a comedy (most of the time)
Great reaction.
I was a long time fan of Corry (as some of us call it) and I often found it to be the funniest thing on tv. Sadly I stopped wathcing it when it went a bit too dark Eastenders like.

Coronation street is a British soap shown all over the uk. And it’s still on tv now and just as popular as always.
I love how you smile knowingly just before Freddie came on with the hoover😂
You need to emphases one key thing. Every Queen song was different, iconic, like its own mini genre. I cannot think of any other band in the world or historically that has ever done that (please correct me anyone by all means). Every song brings out a different emotion in you. From Flash Gordon Theme, Who wants to live forever, Love of my life, Barcelona, Don't stop me now and We are the champions, etc etc etc. Every one distinct style. and We'll Bohemian Rhapsody is incredible. Thanks to Kenny Everett, who opened the world to queen by playing a 6 min song on radio when only 3 minutes allowed. Thank you Great Britain, you have given so much great music to the world not just Queen. Bee Gees, Dire Straights, Elton John, George Michael, Beatles, Bowie, Police, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, RadioHead, T-Rex, Roxy Music, The Who, Stone Rose, The Clash, Stewart, it just goes on and one and on
Epic! I love watching your son enjoy this era of music and just getting into it and enjoying it at his age. Just proof that Queen and similar era music will never die...
However I am a country music fan. Old and new but mostly older. You should let him pick some for you to react to lol. Would be very fun and interesting.
Another one!!!Awesome!!!
Let's face it, darlings, we're the most preposterous band that's ever lived." - Freddie Mercury
