Great video. I would love one on Hot Coldman from _Peace Walker._ He's interesting since he fully believes no one has the stomach to use nukes even though two people in the MGS universe has. Volgin nuked Sokolov's research facility for kicks and the Boss nuked Grozni Grad under orders. Coldman's so ruthless but his naive belief that all humans are naturally too weak-willed to kill themselves baffles me. No wonder Zadornov manipulated him so easily.
Neat summary. Although I'm pretty sure The Boss tells Strangelove she wasn't sent to the Bay of Pigs; that was a cover for her being sent to Russia to spy on the Sputnik team. And _then_ she reunited with The Sorrow and had to kill him as part of that mission. (I like to headcanon that she also bumped into a tiny kitten Ocelot and that in Snake Eater, she always knew who he was. Hence the rather mom-like way she takes his guns away and gives him a smack xD)
Still one of the most confusing story in video games but still fun also. =) And The boss is so complex and a wonderful character. I do wish you put in that she also "returns" in MGS Peace Walker even if she not really meant to be the focus in that game but still it could have been worth mentioning. Anyway great work BitHero. as always. =)
We will see if he will even do peacewalker at all. I wouldn't blame him if he would not do any of the spin off games. The watered and retconnt so much it is a clusterfuck of epic proportions.
The relation between The Boss, Snake, Ocelot, EVA and Volgin is so goddamn good! Every scene with more than two of them puts most of today's Hollywood movies to shame. The plot of this game and its scenes are such a pleasure to watch. And without being overly convoluted! 20:15 This scene. This fucking scene. My favorite scene in any video game to date. You can see Snake's disapointment and bitterness in his eyes.
I though I played each of the games in the main series. it never felt like a stealth game series since a majority of the characters acknowledge Snake's identity and at the same time attempt to be cinematic. Then for me to consider that one guy was able to take on a Metal Gear. While another pleb named Raiden takes on at lest 10 Metal Gear Rays. It seems that the series actively attempt to completely undermine its own selling point with the franchise. I know the games can be played at higher difficulties but the nature of the series is still marred of the boss fights and the active need for the characters have long winded monologues with each other. Not a series that I think deserves a stealth title but a decent one.
Sons of Liberty makes the point that its entire premise is a carefully orchestrated reenactment of the Shadow Moses incident, ala the VR missions, meant to mold people like Raiden into soldiers like Snake. It's set up in such a way that Raiden was meant to win, along with the fact that he was also a child solder trained by Solidus. Big Boss was aided by the likes of Ocelot and EVA during his mission, with intel from the CIA, not to mention the Boss herself. He was meant to succeed, and he certainly didn't do it alone.
Great, great, super awesome stuff. Seriously eloquent explanation of the motivations behind one of the most tragic characters in the entire narrative that is MGS. Way better than anything bunny hop or other channels have put out.
When you mentioned the fact the Big Boss would die early due the Exposure to radiation, he lived to be 79 years old he died from foxdie due to Solid Snake having a new strand. He outlived his life and the only side affect he ended up with was he was sterile due the radiation. While others in on that test site had suffered worse a lot worse. Maybe the Boss would had died early in life due to the fact she had to deal with radiation twice in her life once in Outer space and Nevada. But we will never know because Big Boss killed her. However great video.
Loved it. Especially watching Kennedy in the Nevada desert watching the nuclear drills being presented before him. I don't know how many times they show Sokoloves research facility on the history channel or =others like where all the trees are all unrooted and ajar from the ground. Glad we can put all this behind us now, right Mother Russia?
I like how you just sort of barely acknowledge the retroactive stuff MGS4 did with The Boss and stuck to her character and motivations from MGS3. Although an Uncharted 3-style exploration of the narrative jank in the MGS4 villains would be an interesting round-out to this Metal Gear Solid D.I. marathon. - Lewis
Fun facts: Bikini Atoll actually had nuclear weapons tested on it. A popular theory on SpongeBob is that all the fish can talk because they are in bikini atoll, and mutated by radiation. This is backed by the fact that many explosions in the show are accompanied by black and white clips of nuclear testing from you guessed it :bikini atoll. The reason this is related :the voice actress who plays the big boss, plays pearl ; Mr. Krabs daughter in SpongeBob. The more you know ;)

It's been long time since I was excited by a video released on yt. Love your content HyperBitHero !
Fun fact about the cobras. They got their powers from the mgsV parasite
But doesn’t mgsv take place 20 years after this game

Jesus Christ, my eyes weren't ready for that sudden framerate change.
You're shiting through your mouth, son. Whatch out!
No Step on Snek!
This is awesome, can’t get enough of the story mechanics of MGS. Better than movies.
Great, great, super awesome stuff.
Seriously eloquent explanation of the motivations behind one of the most tragic characters in the entire narrative that is MGS.
Way better than anything bunny hop or other channels have put out.
next devious intent should be Ocelot or Skullface.
This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you, Boss 😭
When you mentioned the fact the Big Boss would die early due the Exposure to radiation, he lived to be 79 years old he died from foxdie due to Solid Snake having a new strand. He outlived his life and the only side affect he ended up with was he was sterile due the radiation. While others in on that test site had suffered worse a lot worse. Maybe the Boss would had died early in life due to the fact she had to deal with radiation twice in her life once in Outer space and Nevada. But we will never know because Big Boss killed her. However great video.
we really need one for Big Boss - you did really good with Liquid, Solidus, and Senator Armstrong
Kept us waiting huh?
Seriously this is very well done! the Boss is truly a fantastic character! Looking foward to a video on Big Boss in the future!
Can't wait to see Big Boss, oh man.
Where is MGS 0 where you play as Boss, that would be awesome.
Although an Uncharted 3-style exploration of the narrative jank in the MGS4 villains would be an interesting round-out to this Metal Gear Solid D.I. marathon.

BrainScratch Commentaries How exactly is 4 a retcon? Or are people not allowed to change after decades?
Awesome video, mate! Never clicked that Ocelot was the baby The Boss had taken away from her.
devious intend
- MGS 2 IA
-all ocelots versions
-jet stream sam
Never in my have I ever subscribed to somebody who put ads on other vids. This is awesome!

That's exactly what Portable Ops did
Nothing but adoration for Metal Gear. Even the mediocre entries are a lot of fun.
Dam bro, I got a tear in my eye by the end, MGS3 is a classic
