I had the 1030 a few years back and it allowed me to play some E Sports games matched with a used i5 3470 system when I never had money and work to buy anything... then I upgraded that PC with a 1060 and an i7 3770. Now I have a completely new PC with Ryzen 7 and a 4070ti Super... I appreciate the 1030 for introducing me to a good gaming experience when I started out.
I bought my first GT 1030 for 69 bucks and still use it! 30-35 watt GPU when the CPU doesn't have an IGP. This GPU still surprises me when paired with my Ryzen 5 5600. (upgraded to 1650 ddr6, currently) Thanks for the testing and review PCustoms!
2:44 here you should have named the iGPUs of these CPUs, this way it's more clear to the viewer because it's odd having CPU names displayed in a GPU benchmark segment.
I bought a GT1030 a couple of months ago because so many people hated it, I wanted to make a video about it. Unfortunately, I bought the DDR4 variant. I did not know there were 2 different versions. I put it in my machine, and Fortnite was a slideshow. So, I immediately removed it and put it in my car while apologizing to my PC for the next few days. Fast forward to today, one of the Dell Towers I picked up had a GT1030 in it. It appears to be OEM. So it *should* be DDR5. I'll have to run it back and see bad or not bad it really is. Fingers Crossed.
The 1030 is the first GPU I baught for a free SFF PC that I was given. I didn't know anything about PC's & wanted to use this for my kids su that they could use it for school & some gaming. This did the job perfectly after I watch a PC upgrade build on UA-cam.
@@PC.ustoms I think it was in January of 2021 so a little while into it, however. GPU prices were over 2K+ for 3080s and some 3060s was going for over 500 so this pushed some of the older cards to come out to fill the market and NVIDIA the hippos'
Good video, but the results may vary depending on games tested. From what I have seen online the 5600g's integrated graphics trades blow with the gt1030.
I just bought for a second time a used GT1030 2gb DDR5 Asus passive version for $20. Before CPU could easily handle 4k 60fps streaming these cards were amazing. Have an old i3 4330 and want to stream 4k with ease and then drop this in. I have a bunch of modern builds in the house but bought this to pair with my old i3/16gb ddr3 hardware with Silverstone case for maybe my older father to have a Media PC.
Sweet. It's a great card for not gaming. As I said at the end of the video, if you aren't gaming or creating content, it's a great card that will do everything you need, and a little bit more.
You forgot to mention that it displays youtube video and other internet tube websites with pretty good performance. Its Pascal 14nm finfet architecture is fast enough for most 4K UHD video and h265. It doesn't support AV1 encoding for youtube but since it's not mandatory yet, it does not matter.
Lekky prices here in the UK for the last 2 years have been insanly high, and they continue to be high for the next few years with ease, so the gt 1030 gpu has been a good card for playing older games and not drive yoyr lekky bill though the roof, so it does have its place in parts of the world were utility bills need to be watched.
5600g had a good reputation because it was one of the only availiable decent solution during the pandemic/shortage... the 1030 was over 120$ at the time, even up to 200$ on ebay at some point. It is still a decent gpu for people looking for a basic card for basic office workflow and light gaming tho Or to revive an old pc

Built on the 14 nm process, and based on the GP108 graphics processor, in its GP108-300-A1 variant, the card supports DirectX 12. This ensures that all modern games will run on GeForce GT 1030. When the 5600G came out there was plenty of praise of the gpu muscle for a igpu. I would remind people it was on par with a GT1030 and far less than the 1050ti. The 1030 simply was a perfect drop in card for encoding video playback. And the passive models were perfect for long term low noise and power media builds. Those small fans on small gpus are not known for longevity.
i have an i5 9400 maybe i will buy this gt 1030 and save money to upgrade to am5, maybe upgrading in the end of the year haha, maybe this will be decent in playing LOL, CSGO and zomboid, also genshin
6:42 IMHO that is very poor choice. The 5600 is far better of a cpu than the 5600G. Double the L3 cache and Gen4 support. Buying the 5600 with a cheap gpu like a 1030 is a far better platform for a future upgrade. 5500/5600G/5700G are all terrible buys due to the small L3 16mb cache and only gen3 support which is an issue with modern budget 8x gpus. Modern budget cards like a 7600xt/4060 with only 8x bus connected to a gen3 system is equal to very very old 16x GEN2 bandwidth spec. Some games like Doom Eternal show big losses. So it’s best to avoid any gen3 hardware like b450/350 and Zen1/Zen2 and G series cpus. Sad they would make budget focused cards on 8x that are far more dependent on a modern build when many in the market for these budget 8x cards might not have gen4 support.
that's a fair opinion as well. That being said, according to user benchmark, the 5600g is only 5% worse than the 5600. while I agree the L3 cache and gen 4 support is important, on a tight, TIGHT budget (anyone buying a 1030 in 2024), skip on a GPU for now, and go with the 5600g. That being said, I respect the opinion, you know your stuff, and had another valid assessment of the situation
@@PC.ustoms I think the further out we go the more only shopping for gen4 or better hardware will matter. If manufacturers keep coming out with faster and faster gpus on a 8x bus the more and more the limited gen3 hardware will matter. I always recommend for people on older gen3 spec to shop for a 16x card in a similar price range because it will only take a single halving of potential bandwidth due to dropping to gen3. If factor in also a card being 8x now your halve the bandwidth potential twice which is why it’s equivalent to old gen2 16x spec. Some budget 16x cards are 3060/3060ti/6700/6700xt that are better suited in the gen3 builds because of the 16x bus.

why my rx 590 on fortnite low got just avg 130 fps
Try updating drivers, also what res are you playing at?

To pull the FPS, I'm using MSI afterburner
