i suggest adding a lil celery salt en lieu of salt in the grinding process....watched that mythbusters thing where grant went to the mcdo factory and thats what they added...maybes might make it taste even the more similar
First off "Thank you" for posting this ! I'm no newbie to cooking but had not found a nugget recipe I was crazy about until this one. I have made these over a dozen times and my kids love them! I do add seasoned salt instead of plain and find it adds more flavor, also I have battered one coating, and two ..I prefer one. All in all soooo good! Thanks again! 😜
Made these for dinner tonight along with a Wendy's Jr. bacon cheeseburger (from another one of your videos) and both came out perfectly. Thank you so much for these awesome videos!
Finally a chicken nugget that is actually close to McDonalds. All the other one just use the brand name but make a completely different nugget. I suppose you could just keep them frozen until you're ready to fry them. Great for convenience.
Awesome videos, you guys have really inspired me to start cooking and stop begging my mom to cook or going out and spending a crap tone of money. thanks!
Hey! Thanks so much! Made them to your spec with a variation that worked very well. Try this: Take a ball of flour coated chicken mush and form your nugget shapes on parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Be creative! dogbones and christmas stockings, not just circles! Bake at 375 for 15 - 20 (til white) and allow to cool and stiffen. Then batter and fry. The prebake does two things. Locks the nugget shape and allows for "golden only" frying. also baking powder and soda water in the batter for wicked super fluffy nuggets! Yum!
I believe that McDonald fries there nuggets at 2 different temperatures, like the french do with their french fires. Once at a lower temperature, to cook them through. Then they freeze them and ship the nuggets. the second frying is done at the restaurant. This second frying is much shorter, its only to get the crunchy outside, so its a high temperature frying. That's why the nuggets arent so dark
I made this recipe and it was ok. I thought the batter was a little bland. Next time I will add some garlic powder and see how they turn out. This is a good base recipe for chicken nuggets. Thanks for sharing.
How long should it be fried (both times)? I know it says "until brown" but since you're starting with frozen pieces it can be a bit tricky to make sure you don't end up with nuggets that are still cold (or frozen) in the middle if you don't cook them long enough.
Lol nice! about a month ago I tried to make them too, and they were just not right, a little dry. idk...anyhoo tyourslooks real good now I'm all about making casseroles!
Great recipe !! if you want a little more flavour closer to the Maccas taste, you can add a couple of Tbls of water when blending the paste, and a couple of tsp of Braggs Liquid Aminos. It gives the flavour pop of MSG without being as bad of you as MSG. It makes a huge difference. Use Soy or Tamari if you don't have Braggs. I can't wait to try these ones out. Cheers.
Is it ok to freeze the chicken a second time? or is it because you cooked it a first time so you can do it an second time? And what is the first mix you use : Flour and corn something..? I'm looking forward to cook these good little guys. Thanks!
yes it is okay, you don't have to fully freeze it but it's small enough that you won't have any explosions don't worry. I took regular flour and corn starch and mixed them even amounts.
When I got out of high school I got a job at McDonalds. I remember when we used to have house parties my friend, who was the manager of McDonalds, used to bring home bags and bags of chicken nuggets. I loved them so much. I even got a job working there and I remember bringing my backpack one time after work I stuffed my backpack full of Spicy chicken, crispy chicken and chicken nuggets. I remember making them int he toaster oven and my whole home smelled like McDonalds. It was soo good. Until I got fired for stealing.
this is if Rob Dyrdek did chicken Nuggets love the recipe making them righ now as I am typing this they are freezing now you do sound like Dyrdeck also I subscribed and liked this video
Mine didn't taste much like the McDonalds ones - but they were still delicious. I made them way too big I think, probably twice-to-2.5 times the sixe of the original.. so the ratio of batter to chicken was off? Or maybe I needed more mustard? Anyway, they were great regardless, thanks again BGE
I don't understand why in most recipe videos when they make batter or icing or topping of some sort they always make WAY more then what they're gonna use and then the rest ends up down the sink...
Incré-diblé
good recipe, thanks!
was incre-ible
Dude McDonald's just quit selling McNuggets because they can't compete with these. I love the mustard in the batter! Excellent recipe!
haha true!
They did ? I thought they stopped the chicken select strips
Angelica Morales oh no..

+eduardo bonilla I've seen celery salt at my local supermarket, in the spice section.
that's what I was thinking!
Take it from my fiance the McD's manager, add some celery seed and white and black pepper to really get that Mcnugget flavor. Love your videos.
Any chance you could recreate their sweet n sour sauce as well? My absolute favorite dip for these. :)
i'll work on it (Josh from Brothers Green here)
www.epicconstructions.com/mirror/mcd/ i found this website and it details how to make the menu of mcdonalds

Clean oil and frying at 325F helps keep them from darkening. When I deep fry with fresh vegetable oil they come out golden brown.

Adding the mustard seems genius and key. Mustard makes everything better.
This is genius!!!
Tried this with diced chicken and it works really well.
made a different batter but it worked, they are great, thanks mate
Favorite fuckn channel. Chillest stoners out there+the food is good as hell

i love you 😁 i was just thinking bout making this for my daughter cuz is an easy meal but.dont want her to eat the premadefrozenfullofcrap ones :)
Apparently in the description McDonald's deceives a cucumber hint flavor to the nuggets-maybe the mustard gave it that hint of zing -looks great

The BearSpice Kitchen Just use the MSG. It's not bad for you.

If it takes 97 YEARS MORTY
9 more seasons Morty!
What would work well in place of mustard? I don't like mustard or any spicy foods.
Nothing, get over it
No mustard?use moustache then. No moustache?use mustard then. Its jut for colour not for taste or anything else
Thanks.
+DAVID veilleux I know I am way late answering but when you cook the mustard it's not spicy at all anymore
+Kwizii u dun make sense
This video was increíble
this is if Rob Dyrdek did chicken Nuggets love the recipe making them righ now as I am typing this they are freezing now you do sound like Dyrdeck also I subscribed and liked this video
You sound like Rob Dyrdek, I think I spelled his name right lol
You need that Mulan dipping sauce
cool. i like it
I am going to have to try this. I like the flavor of the McD's nuggets, but the insides are always chewy and questionable.
+R “Tatties” Martin that's all the cartilage, beak, feet, and skin =)
+Adri youre dumb if you think thats real.
Can you replace water with buttermilk?
I only watch these junk food things when i'm hungry!
Dude where you guys at ? It seems like you stopped doing videos, would love to see new ones, if possible
Now if I could only find the recipe for the McFuckit I could open up a McDonald's.
If you want to make a clone, make it 20% shitty chicken, and 80% bones, cartilages, nerves, beaks, feet, and arteries. be sure to mix them up well
+Daniel Semi and 'fillers'
can you use dry mustard instead???
rather have this compare to fake chicken nuggets at McDiarrhea
Please. Recreate the Mulan Szechuan Teriyaki sauce that McDonalds had for a while.
idk whether im the only one but i think both of them are handsome. haha ok bye
It's all about the TVP, my man.
so can i just put chicken in a blender to make the ground chicken?
Sa a l'aire pas mal merci
those look better then mcdonalds
Is this Rob Dyrdek narrating this
Freezing, unfreezing and freezing again ? Are you kidding ? WHAAAT ?
If you're trying to replicate their food, then why are you using real ingredients?
"my frozen nuggets. They are so easy to handle."
now I am hungry
You forgot the crushed chicken bones and eyes lol
It ain't McD's chicken without the feathers and feet.
try tempura batter :P
I don't understand why in most recipe videos when they make batter or icing or topping of some sort they always make WAY more then what they're gonna use and then the rest ends up down the sink...
they probably cook more off screen that they dnt include in the whole video
+ALIEN SCIENTIST its like 5c wastage get a life
I’m gonna try this and come back to tell y’all of this taste good or not
fast food doesn't burn because the cooks cook everything for the same exact time at the same temp every timd
I never really liked mustard, Does it end up tasting like mustard?
No it wouldn't taste like mustard
Mustard is actually used in a lot of recipes
Freezing is genius. I tried using chicken skin to bind it the way Robert C Baker discovered, but it fell apart.
can u use tofu or fish?
This video should be renamed "how to make McNuggets with REAL chicken"
Can you make a Mc chicken from McDonalds ?
johnyj25 uses this song for his Zombie Q&A's
forgot the white pepper!! haha
they use the tempura batter
hold on guys we have 9 more seasons
Wanna know how to make this easier? Grab some pink fluff...
Prep them. Freeze them. Fry them. Freeze them again. Fry them again? Screw this.
Starving kids in Africa could have ate that mcnugget
McDonald's use the pink paste
