@@LufcLoyalistIt’s more the fact of how they blended their voices together than singing in sync. I’m not sure if you understand music… but usually music is supposed to be a way to bring people together, don’t try to put other artists down just to bring up ones that YOU like
My grandmother and I would listen to this everyday on the way to her cancer clinic treatments. She passed in April and I was missing her so fiercely today. Wondering if wherever she is maybe she is thinking of me too. THEN you post a reaction video to a video from 5 years ago. I don't know if that means anything but I'm sobbing in a good way I think. My first reaction to their Hallelujah was the same. I ended up crying and still do every time I listen to it. All effortless, amazing. Avi Kaplan's deep voice is so natural and powerful. They all are incredible. Their blend is flawless.
Omg where to begin! You’ve probably heard or seen some of them, but The Prayer, Bohemian Rhapsody, the sound of silence. Honestly anything of theirs is just incredible. Love your videos Hannah!
The Ha-ah-ah-ah-lelujah after Kirstin’s verse gets me every time. Also Avi. Avi!! His voice is so gorgeous in this. I hope when they finished their arrangement for this they looked at each other and said, “This is magic,” because it is.
I'm right there with you Hannah. Harmonies KILLLLLLL me. I've never gotten through this song without crying, and I've listened to it countless times. It's one of the GOATS from Pentatonix. And yes, please please please do more Pentatonix reactions!

@@hitman9198 A) I agree: Disturbed kicked "SoS"'s ass. I literally listened to it on a loop for 3 weeks when Covid first hit (it both soothed and plummeted me deeper into my depression at the planet being on open-ended house arrest.) B) But! PXT also *owned* SoS in a whole different direction. Quite frankly chopped it up and re-spackled it together into a sparkly Frankenstein of their own design. So BOTH groups' renditions (and all the various recordings of them) are stellar. Especially live. C) Home Free is good but nowhere near as individually RIDICULOUS as PTX is. PTX's separate players are not only spectac, as a group they're somehow greater than their sum.
@@latashastrahan4297 Austin could go solo. Tim has a 5 octave range, Adam is easily one of the best beat boxers ever. Rob and Chance are very underrated. Their harmonies are second to non. You are severely overlooking their talent. Just saying
I honestly think this is their best cover, it just has this way of capturing the viewers full attention and resonating with their emotions in a way no other song has before
Yes, I 100% feel the same way. Vocal music in particular (and especially Pentatonix) really pull at my heart, and the first time I heard their version of Hallelujah I definitely cried. Absolute magic!
I've listened to this song by many singers, including this version hundreds of times. Tears every single time. It's simply the most beautiful song in human history. And this is the best cover I've come across.
Their rendition of 'Amazing Grace' is unparalleled..... by far it is their most emotionally empactful work yet....and the setting for the video is unreal.
I always asked others if they get goosebumps and tear up when they hear beautiful music, voices, mixes.. no one else seemed to react as I do, that feeling from inside that you're witnessing magic in the making. The first time I ever had this reaction was when watching 'Sister Act' in a movie theater.. I will never be embarrassed of my physical reaction to music again.. thank you!
Can we just talk about how perfect Hannah is?!🥺 Does the queen say hi?🙏🏼 I was having a really bad day until you posted, so thank you for making my day better❤️🥺
You reaction almost mirrored my own the first time I heard this song. I didn’t shed a tear, but I was completely taken back. As a vocalist, I know how incredibly hard what their doing is, and they do it so effortlessly. Just amazing.
So the first fellow that sung was Scott. He's their lead. Interestingly, the guy in the beanie is (was) their bass singer, Avi Kaplan. He's no longer with the group, but you're absolutely right about his beautiful tone and timbre. He has a lot of solo stuff out now and his own UA-cam channel. You should definitely put it on your list to check out his work. You won't be disappointed! And of course Mitch and Kirstin did a fantastic job with this as well. First time I heard this I listened to it at least a dozen times and cried on every one of them. Just so beautiful and powerful. Wow.... Great reaction as always Hannah!
This is my FAVORITE song/video. I listen to it and sing along every day. I just can't get enough of this. I am asking my cousin who has a small acapella singing group to sing this song at my funeral I love it that much!!.
I think Mitch's vocal range is really spotlighted in "The Prayer" that they just release a little while ago. It is with their new bass singer, Matt. Avi, the former bass and second soloist in "Halleluhah" left the group amicably to go on to do other things and is still releasing music. Scott (the first soloist) will take up the bass line when the bass singer has a solo, as you heard in this arrangement. This track always gives me goosebumps, as does "Sound of Silence". Christmas is definitely their best genre, but they've rarely had a "dud" with any of their covers or original pieces. If you want to hear them individually, Scott and Mitch make up "Superfruit", and Avi, Kristin, and Kevin all have solo work. Kevin is also a celloist (cellist?). Their collaboration with Lindsey Stirling on Radioactive is very good, as is their recent collab "Over the River" is a treat.
I have lost count of how many times I have watched this over the last 5 years and I cry every single time 🥺 Avi’s base is out of this world and I feel it through my body- and Kristin and Mitch are just in a league of their own. Add in Scott and Kevin”s beat boxing and I’m a complete mess 🤣
I listen to Pentatonix for ANY of their music. The Hallelujah is by far the MOST tear-provoking of all! Thank you for the honest reactions to their music!!
I love this version of Hallelujah, and with the added harmonies it brings such depth and soul. I see you're just like me whenever I hear a song done well with good technique and supported by an internal passion, it'll always draw tears to my eyes! I also love Lucy Thomas version of this song, very touching!
The first time I heard Pentatonix, years ago, sing anything, I cried. I am not ashamed of tearing up for a beautiful blending of voices. I love four part harmony and choir singing and such. I think one of the best I heard was the Statler Brothers doing a song called Bed of Roses. I also am a huge fan of The Oak Ridge Boys doing American Made and a few others of theirs as well. I love the blending of the harmonies in the Beach Boys Kokomo. I am a deep Baritone and can hit bass if I try, but I can also hit a full on middle tenor if I want to. I cannot go from one extreme to the other without sliding there, but I can do moderation within a particular vocal range with ease. These guys (and gal), are superb at it. I have heard practically every major release from Pentatonix since I first heard them. They are the most incredible blend of disparate vocals melded together into a pleasing whole I think I have ever heard. And just to establish my range, I can do all four parts of Elvira if I must, and I can fill any of the four that a group is missing. I feel most comfortable with the baritone, but can do any of the other three as well.
With Christmas coming right up, I would recommend their live version (not from a concert, but performed/recorded live in the corridor of a stone chapel) of "Silent Night".
Hannah, pleeaaaase react to their new cover of The Prayer. It's the perfect song for singers/coaches to do because it is such a flex... they all belt at ranges we really haven't heard much from them before (Mitch belting C5s! Scott going full-on baritone!) I'm pretty sure I already filled out your form for it when it came out at the end of October.
@6:50 i feel you sis. that’s how i felt watching their video for the first time when Scott started singing in the BEGINNING. i was not prepared for what was to follow 😭 every. single. one of them. did wtf they were supposed to DO!!!! my all time favorite PTX performance - recorded AND live.
I know it isn't a "Christmas" song but their cover of "Imagine" by John Lennon is incredible and at one point a wall of vocal perfection will hit you AND, if that wasn't enough...the video will def. bring out the tears. ALSO...an older original by them that really hasn't been reacted to much (I know because I've looked) is their song "Run to You" Oh please, please, please react to it or just listen to it for your own enjoyment! Love your channel and content, thanks for all you do!
Probably my favorite part, after having watched/heard this a ton...is after the voice wall...and Kevin and Avi breaking it down....the combination of percussion and bass....they do this in quite a few....but just recognizing what they are doing is amazing.
This one is still in the Top Emotional Overload Pentatonix Songs. Goosebumps every time. Tbh I’m not entirely sure their voices don’t have magical powers
This song is literal ear candy tbh, in the climax of the song (around 7 min), you can hear the harmonies and they are all belting so well. But my favorite part is listening for the layered bass on there. Avi has one of the best bass voices I've ever heard. His original music is so good. And Kevin, geez, he is so talented, in Pentatonix's cover of Radioactive, he is soooo good. Scott, I can't with him, trying to keep up with his runs is very difficult, and Kristin, such a lovely range, and cant get enough of her voice. And Mitch as well, his voice has got some umph to it but also is so beautiful in a softer setting. I love all of their older stuff. I make playlists for a couple yoga teachers and they specifically ask for this song at the end and it is perfect. Overall Pentatonix is an amazing group and I totally recommend a reaction video to sound of silence
Honestly I don’t know why I haven’t seen this in the comments, but “Carol of the Bells” is SUCH an awesome PTX song! And also I relate very much to the “feeling music deeply” part you talked about :)
literally when i listen to this, i get full body chills. i love how each part has their shining moments and they each stand out in different parts of the song. they sound INCREADIBLR
This song makes me cry every time, I’m like you: the beauty of harmonies gets me deep in my soul and I cannot not cry. I’m glad there’s other people like me ❤️
I cry all the time listening to music. This song or even Bach, Mozart bring me to tears. The beauty and depth of feeling is overwhelming at times. No shame in crying over beautiful music
I’ve been listening to them from the first night they performed on national television in 2011 on The Sing Off. I’ve been moved to tears and joy many times since. Shawn Stockman in 2011 said PTX was sent back from the future to save acapella. I believe him. I’m almost 70 and I’ve most groups since the 1950s. PTX is one of my favorites.
Everyone who does "reaction" to Pentatonix is totally blown away. And as if their singing isn't enough, their productions and orchestration and arrangements are awesome! This particular song is magical and brings tears of joy and appreciation to your eyes, heart and soul.
One of my favorite parts of this song is when Scott and Ari switch their baritone and bass parts. They transition between the first and second verse and its flawless. Its hard to catch in this video, but if you watch and listen to their love performance you can catch it.
I find it amazing how these vocal experts that have heard them before in other songs find this particular song, so good in every way. Only makes you think who's hand is really in this. It's really so awesome.
This whole video gets me.....the visuals, although simple, add to the mood. I think this is my absolute favourite of theirs. It’s so powerful, it makes me tear up.
I really don't see how anyone Human, cannot at least have tears welling up in their eyes. This was the first song of theirs I accidentally came across. Since then, Wow, I've listened to soooooo many. Their incredible. Loved your reaction, and love your personality. 😊
This is the first time I've heard Hallelujah sing we're actually cause the hair to raise on my neck arms and back my legs mainly in my calves as it was soul-stirring it's hard enough to find someone who's actually has a harmonic tone that matches the music, but these guys all have their own harmonic tones they matched it's mind-blowing for me!
One of the things that amazes me the most is the fact that they don't use any instruments other then their voices and bodies. They are by far one of my favorite bands of all times and I absolutely live Mitch's voice. It is so pure.
Yeah, good music can certainly bring me to an emotional state...most times due to the memories attached to it. However...Pentatonix brings me to gut felt tears 6 out of 10 times. Those tears ya just can't hold back. My understanding of how they have managed to get it right time after time is the way they elevate one another's voice, instead of competing with them. By doing this the cohesiveness just STUNS a soul. It took 64 years of listening to all types and genres of music to finally say that I am 💯 % impressed for the first time. Godspeed Pentatonix❣️❤️🔥
mitch has the most incredible vocal range ever! you should watch some complications of his entire range because i would LOVE to see your reaction to it!
Hannah, you've missed so much wonderful music. I would do "The Prayer " or " Amazing Grace " which are their latest and in my mind their best. They have improved as they are getting older.

This one and their cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine” break me literally every time.
Have you actually listened to lyrics that song. Its definitely an iconic song but jeez where do I start. Ben Shapiro breaks it down better than I ever could.
Well the song hallelujah with added violins was also very pretty
I chose this for my wife’s funeral, I cry every time I hear it. Beautiful song sung by amazing singers.
They’re not amazing 😂 jeez singing in sinc isn’t an achievement but it sounds mehhh. Sam Ryder is amazing nick peteria is amazing
@@LufcLoyalistIt’s more the fact of how they blended their voices together than singing in sync. I’m not sure if you understand music… but usually music is supposed to be a way to bring people together, don’t try to put other artists down just to bring up ones that YOU like
I HIGHLY recommend listening to Pentatonix singing "Amazing Grace." It's an experience 😭❤
Thank you
My first reaction to their Hallelujah was the same. I ended up crying and still do every time I listen to it. All effortless, amazing. Avi Kaplan's deep voice is so natural and powerful. They all are incredible. Their blend is flawless.
There is a live version of them singing hallelujah on youtube and it is literally just as amazing as the recorded version
Omg where to begin! You’ve probably heard or seen some of them, but The Prayer, Bohemian Rhapsody, the sound of silence. Honestly anything of theirs is just incredible. Love your videos Hannah!
Yes. I feel music. Avis bass is so grounding and how Scott carries them like a leader. I love all of them.
I also highly highly recommend that you listen and react to “Little Drummer Boy” by Pentatonix also they do an amazing “Mary did you know” cover
The Ha-ah-ah-ah-lelujah after Kirstin’s verse gets me every time. Also Avi. Avi!! His voice is so gorgeous in this. I hope when they finished their arrangement for this they looked at each other and said, “This is magic,” because it is.
I'm with you. I FEEL music in my core. And I love Pentatonix. Their beautiful harmonies and textures are where it's at.
I'm right there with you Hannah. Harmonies KILLLLLLL me. I've never gotten through this song without crying, and I've listened to it countless times. It's one of the GOATS from Pentatonix. And yes, please please please do more Pentatonix reactions!
I feel music deeply as well. I’ve heard their version of this song a hundred times before, and I get goosebumps every time
Sis, as a man, I am right there with ya with the 😭! . I remember having a teacher in college that would cry at amazing readings of poems. He used to say it this way, “When excellence hits your soul, it causes emotion.” Loved that guy. Great reminder to enjoy the things that resonate with you!
Aside from all their xmas songs, I HIGHLY recommend "the sound of silence" cover by Pentatonix. It will melt your face it is so amazing
Yeah the 2nd best cover I've ever heard of that song
@@hitman9198 If you say that Disturbed is no.1 then you need to have your brain examined.
@@-Devy- why because it is Disturbed and im right lol. It's not even close. There is something wrong with you Penatonix stans. Penatonix isnt even the best acapella group lol. Home free is light years better than Penatonix in so many ways. Even Voiceplay is up there. Maybe if Avi was still there.
@@hitman9198
A) I agree: Disturbed kicked "SoS"'s ass. I literally listened to it on a loop for 3 weeks when Covid first hit (it both soothed and plummeted me deeper into my depression at the planet being on open-ended house arrest.)
B) But!
Just saying
You definitely need to react to their "Mary, did you know" and their rendition of "The Prayer" 🥰❤️
I can listen to this 40 times a day and still get chills and cry.
I honestly think this is their best cover, it just has this way of capturing the viewers full attention and resonating with their emotions in a way no other song has before
Their original song “That’s Christmas to Me” is amazing!!!
That's Christmas to me is their original song. It's not a cover. Yes it's absolutely beautiful. 😊
Maxie M Thank you! I edited it
honestly that music video makes me cry every time its so sweet
Ink & Caffeine Same, it is always the first thing I watch at Christmas time!
I will never be embarrassed of my physical reaction to music again.. thank you!
This was their best performance until they released The Prayer. THAT is one of the best things I've ever heard.
Agree!
Agreed!
Agree!!!
Absolutely feel the music down deep in my soul. Especially tight harmonies. Pentatonix is definitely one of the best groups that has these harmonies
Totally agree, Please check out Avi Kaplan's beautiful solo work!!
Their collaboration with Lindsey Stirling on Radioactive is very good, as is their recent collab "Over the River" is a treat.
sound of silence is legit insane she should see it lol
I have lost count of how many times I have watched this over the last 5 years and I cry every single time 🥺 Avi’s base is out of this world and I feel it through my body- and Kristin and Mitch are just in a league of their own. Add in Scott and Kevin”s beat boxing and I’m a complete mess 🤣
I listen to Pentatonix for ANY of their music. The Hallelujah is by far the MOST tear-provoking of all! Thank you for the honest reactions to their music!!
I'm a 41 year old man who served in the US infantry for 21 years. I cry every time I hear them sing this. You're not alone....lol.
I would absolutely love to see you react to their rendition of "Imagine" by John Lennon. I cry every time, it's so beautiful
I love this version of Hallelujah, and with the added harmonies it brings such depth and soul. I see you're just like me whenever I hear a song done well with good technique and supported by an internal passion, it'll always draw tears to my eyes! I also love Lucy Thomas version of this song, very touching!
Lucy Thomas’ version of Hallelujah absolutely crushes this……sorry, she’s on another level!
their cover of "the Sound of Silence" will turn ur brains into sea foam, its so beautiful
There’s a live version of this from their Christmas Special that is STUNNING.
Yes please!! its my favourite live performance of them
Hannah, pleeaaaase react to their new cover of The Prayer.
I LOVE the Pentatonix they sound so amazing
Ugh, love this cover so much
This song is literal ear candy tbh, in the climax of the song (around 7 min), you can hear the harmonies and they are all belting so well.
A couple of other big sounding songs from them are "Amazing Grace", "The Sound of Silence" or "Can You Feel The Love Tonight"
I know they did so many songs by now but this arrangement will forever be my favorite. It's simply perfect in my opinion.
This is definitely their best Christmas song, just because it’s perfect, but second best is Mary do You Know. Definitely recommend reacting to it!
One of the things that amazes me the most is the fact that they don't use any instruments other then their voices and bodies. They are by far one of my favorite bands of all times and I absolutely live Mitch's voice. It is so pure.
Another amazing song by Pentatonix is Oh Coma, All Ye Faithful!! Its absolutely amazing!!
You're not the only one, I've cried a million times just listening to this song
Yeah, good music can certainly bring me to an emotional state...most times due to the memories attached to it. However...Pentatonix brings me to gut felt tears 6 out of 10 times. Those tears ya just can't hold back. My understanding of how they have managed to get it right time after time is the way they elevate one another's voice, instead of competing with them. By doing this the cohesiveness just STUNS a soul. It took 64 years of listening to all types and genres of music to finally say that I am 💯 % impressed for the first time. Godspeed Pentatonix❣️❤️🔥
This gives me chills every time, especially the part where the camerawork gets even more dynamic.
Omg you should definitely check out their song “Run to You”. It’s a original from them and it’s so stunning
Me and my mom were crying to that song when we were binging Pentatonix music videos. It's so emotional!
mitch has the most incredible vocal range ever! you should watch some complications of his entire range because i would LOVE to see your reaction to it!
Hannah, you've missed so much wonderful music. I would do "The Prayer " or " Amazing Grace " which are their latest and in my mind their best. They have improved as they are getting older.
Of all the art forms I personally feel music touches our hearts the fastest. It seems to have a direct line to our emotional selves. Loved your reaction and I’m happy you want more Pentatonix. Since you like to “get into those feelings” I suggest “Say Something”, that one will tear your heart out yet it is exquisitely beautiful.
Their versions of “The Prayer” and “Amazing Grace” are both amazing a similar feeling to this one.
