As a former Disney entertainment cast member who spent a lot of time with Jasmine, this was so exciting for me to see! I agree with your notes. One thing I will say, is I didn’t mind Will Smith bringing some rap elements to the Genie. He was very humble in acknowledging that Robin Williams “didn’t leave a lot of room for improvement” in the role, and it almost kept Will from taking it. I believe he said what helped him was taking a step back to see what he could bring to the Genie. Robin Williams was obviously an incredible impressionist and they brought that to the cartoon Genie. Instead of Will copying that aspect of the role, he leaned into his Fresh Prince persona and brought that to Genie. When I look at it from that perspective, I can appreciate it more and see how each actor brought their own “signature” to this iconic role. Overall, agreed with everything else you said! (Also I think Will was CGI’d in Genie rather than painted blue and enlarged, so your “uncanny valley” comment is spot on!) thank you for reviewing this! It made me smile 💙
Do you know why they changed one of the lines in "Prince Ali" from "heard your princess was a sight lovely to see" to "Heard your princess was hot, where is she"? I saw the movie in the theaters - and it straight away bugged me, concidering they changed some other texts to be inclusive this just made the movie shallow to me :( concidering this was my favourite movie growing up it put me off quite a lot!
@@helene1288 My best guess is they decided to bring the more casual "Fresh Prince" approach to the Genie this time around. I do know they changed the lyric from "Brush up your Sunday salaam" to "Friday salaam" since it's the Muslim Holy Day. That change made sense to me from a cultural perspective! But you're right, this one wasn't necessary. I hope you still were able to enjoy the visuals- I thought they did a great job bringing vibrant colors and outfits to what could have been a very bland "desert" palette.
This is definitely the best of the *musical* live action adaptations, Mena is an excellent Aladdin (Hollywood please cast him in things!!). Naomi is *so* perfect as Jasmine, and Speechless is an utterly phenomenal song. the best animated to live action overall is Cinderella (2015), but this is a very close second.
I wish Hannah would react to Cinderella (2015) even though it's not a musical. Sometimes I think about how it would've been if it were because it's my favorite Disney live action movie, how the classic songs would have sounded and in which parts of the story they would have added original songs.
I'd say The Jungle Book (2016) or Cinderella was the best of the live action adaptations, though Jungle Book is so different from the animated version as to be a different story altogether, which is part of why it works.
The term “diamond in the rough” means so much more to me. Aladdin is poor, yes. But he has the personality of a diamond. He is a great human being that never loses his compassion given his “rough” circumstance. Even with the power of the genie, he maintains his soul even though there are a few bumps in the road of him losing himself. He always reverts back to that strong, willful, and determined personality. I completely love the saying!
It's also literally *how* you create diamonds. In addition to the carbon, intense heat and pressure come together under the surface of the earth's mantle to create natural diamonds. It's rough circumstances that create diamonds - and along comes Aladdin.
What I did like about this version of Aladdin is that it was just enough different from the cartoon version that it could stand alone. I like when Disney makes the live action movies to stand on their own instead of try to match exactly like the original. I loved cruella the live action of 101 dalmatians :) that doesn't have a ton of music but it is a good one. Another great reaction Hannah keep it up :)
same, never watched Cinderella since they've redone her so much that I'm tired of it. Lion King was basically nothing different. Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin both changed things to address plotholes or mysteries. Those are the only remakes I've seen.
Thats the literal definition of a remake. To take something and turn it into something new/different. it's still similar to the source material/original, but not the same. I wish people understood this. Instead they complain "it's unneccessary" or "it's not the same". Another reason to make the remakes is to keep the beloved cartoons in the light for younger generations who are growing up with "cocomelon" instead of disney channel. Personally, I enjoyed all the remakes so far. Sure they have a few issues here and there, but overall, they're not that bad.
@@MattZRJSRoxy Cinderella is the same as cartoon storywise, they also added a little bit, but not much.. but it looks stunning. Definitly a beautiful movie. Mulan however.. is a general bad movie. They made some things the same.. but they left out most of the movie and added so much other trashy storylines that if you gave the movie anothe name, you wouldnt even recognize it was mulan.
its been a year so its probably too late to say this, but in an interview will smith actually said he didnt wanna take the genie role originally bc he felt that robin williams smashed it and he didn't want to top it out of respect, but then he had a moment where he felt it would be fun to put his own spin on the character, and i think he did a really good job!
A lot of people said they hated the versions of "Speechless" as it gave Jasmine more of a feminist role, I thought it only added to her charcater. The growl in "Speechless" is just awesome, I can't ever get it right when I try to sing that song. I LOVED Will Smith as the Geini, I think he did a great job in singing and everythign. There was/is some behind the scenes videos of the trio working on some fo the songs and they all looked like they were having a blast! I think you need to do Phantom of The Opera next, maybe with Sierra Boggess, or even Sweeny Todd with Angela Lansbury!
@Day i think its more telling, empowered women are always gonna be ignored and overlooked, that's exactly how it happens IRL, but we speak out, and say how we feel and that's really all we can do.
@@Miyanoai14 Honestly... I disagree with this. Yes, her attempts don't entirely succeed and she still ends up imprisoned, BUT her words get through to the guard and it forces Jafar to use his second wish. So her actions DID play a part in the story, hindering Jafar's attempts to take over the kingdom and forcing him to go one step forward instead of winning so easily. Sometimes small victories are worth it. She was in a hopeless situation and spoke out anyway. That's what Speechless is about.
@@cjf92 She was definitely always a very out-spoken princess and one of the best Disney princesses. But wanting to marry for love and wanting to be sultan are very different things (which relates to her role in the plot more than just the song itself; the song is just a way to express her feelings--and let us hear Naomi's amazing voice).
The “meh” feeling always happens when you translate animation to live action, in my opinion. With animation, you can add change and warp the backgrounds and characters to match the action. But with live action you have limits, making it feel lack luster.
i do have to say Naomi Scott who plays Jasmine did an amazing job and it shocked me when I saw her in this movie... gives me memories of Lemonade Mouth which she also sings amazing in. I also loved the video Hanna and you're channel. ♥
Naomi Scott is absolutely stunning. This is probably my favorite live action Disney re-make. Her 'Speechless' and Will Smith's 'Prince Ali' were so freaking good.
I liked Aladdin a lot. I felt like it was done well. The actors obviously can sing well. I never felt like the live action was meant to replace the classics. I love the Aladdin classic as well. I felt like they were meant to draw in a brand new generation to the older Disney classics. And the live action versions usually impress me…keeping that in mind.
@@Sthuthukile I agree. I think as a remake of the original Disney movie it sucked, they took tons of liberties with their original story that it didn’t feel like the same movie; however, on its own, I feel like the movie was fine
Will Smith said that was very stressful to be the Genie bc Robin did an amazing job, but he did NOT tried to be like him, because he didn't wanted to mess with Robin. Will did his best to make his version of the character, that's why there's the rap moments, and they make sense cause tecnically Genie somehow knows about the past and the future and he would know about hip hop and future things that people didn't know.
As a gay guy myself, I've loved seeing how much gayer your videos have been getting as you're more openly comfortable and open with your own queerness! It's genuinely inspiring.
I love the live action Aladdin, from the vocals to the choreography - it's all just beautifully done. Also that scene where the genie controls Aladdin while dancing, I think Mena Massoud does such a fantastic job here. I also love that they adapted the ending so Jasmine can change the law to choose who she marries. Naomi Scott singing Speechless gives me chills every time.
Oh my god my dad would not stop singing speechless when this movie came out, like he would even tell my mom whenever we were going out that she looked so good it left him “SPEEECHLEEEEEES” 😭
This is hands down the best live action Disney movie from this current era. Will Smith was the right choice for genie because just like with Robin Williams if he can't sing on par with the others he has charisma to back him up. Also having him walk around and be human helped with the uncanny valley of the CGI (work smarter not harder). I also loved the set design and costumes like you did. Showcasing so much culture. Culture is fun. And yes Naomi Scott is a gem
I love the little harmony they throw in on "feeling" (18:15) it's only a small difference from the original version but it fits in so nicely, also their voices sound so good together
Naomi Scott sang with veins to portray jasmines emotions in that moment , she was also singing it completely live which was hard so I think that she could easily sing this no strain it was due to her acting and portraying jasmine that she did that
Also, I think it's very very worthwhile to mention that the second time Naomi Scott Sings Speechless she actually sings it live on set, and that's the recording they use, which is why it sounds so authentic and beautiful and unedited. Which I think is so amazing and one of the reasons why its my favourite song of any of the recent Disney Live action movies
i genuinely think this is the best live action adaptation disney has put out since they started doing them with beauty and the beast - it has it''s flaws, but i like that they added a lot to jasmine's character. she seems a lot more fleshed out with her ambitions and such than her animated counterpart, though it's been a long time since i've seen the animated aladdin.
this is one of my guilty pleasure movies. I understand the frustration of disney just making live-action movies and being unoriginal, but this one's different for me. I am absolutely obsessed. And i LOVE speechless
You should take a look at a song they deleted (it was filmed), it's called desert moon, sung by Aladdin and Jasmine. It should have been when Aladdin was going to the cave of wonder while Jasmine was waiting for him, and it's the song both their mothers used to sing to them when they were children (they bonded over it at Aladdin's home)
Can we take a second to just applaud Naomi for doing speechless in literally one take while it was live. Naomi had talked about how that song was only rehearsed the studio prior to the day of the shoot and she got so overwhelmed while singing it that emotion you see is her actually crying. I do agree that’s such a hard song to sing, and because of that I have so much respect for Naomi Scott as a singer above all because bravo to her.
I am usually not a big live action Disney movie, but when I watched this for the first time. It was my favorite Disney live action movie. I loved there voices I loved everything about this movie.
5:45 the “one jump” moment is weird because they sped up the scene to match the vocals that was either added later or laid the isolated vocals back over the sped up scene. The song was probably faster paced than the original movement of the actors.
I actually enjoyed how Genie ended up coming back around at the end with his own family. It threw me off in the beginning, but it made more sense that he was telling that story because he was a part of it. It was cute!
I’ll say it right here and now: Aladdin is the ONLY live action Disney movie that actually satisfies me. The casting was perfect, the music was perfect, the cgi was near perfect! Everything was amazing!
something i rlly love about musicals is the ensemble and the dance numbers and we don't get that a lot in the older disney movies so i was so happy to see it in this one because the songs are the perfect material
fun fact: Naomi actually sang (the second) Speechless live as they were recording. There is very very little playback during the song, they were actually recording her singing live. In an interview she said it was really hard because everyone on set had to be completely quiet.
Hey Hannah. Actually Naomi Scott sang “Speechless” on set instead of using the recorded version of the song. That’s why her neck was so tense and you can also hear her running out of breath. This was something they discussed in an interview with the cast after the movie premiere
If you haven’t seen Twisted (musical by Starkid) I highly recommend it! It’s so good! It’s like if Wicked and Aladdin had a baby. The music is wonderful, and the storyline in amazing!
Oh yes totally! I absolutly love dilan as jafar in twisted. And when she said he had a soft spots for vilain i immediatly thought of the vilains song in twisted. She needs to react to that musical! And the harry potter ones as well!
I’ve been to the musical in theater a few days ago and it was literally amazing the songs, dances, acting, decors and of course the cast. It was so so good that I can’t describe it with words and would want to go there again but it stops at the end of the week. I’m so sad but glad that I was allowed to see this masterpiece in real life
Raise your hand if you think Cinderella was the best Disney live action remake (On a separate note, Hannah, you look so lovely today. Your sweater is so cute!)
Cinderella is definitely one of the better ones. Aladdin was my favorite out of all of them but Cinderella is definitely a close second. Her dress was gorgeous.
Cinderella is my favorite (so wholesome and sincere), but I think Jungle Book might be the best. Cinderella, Jungle Book, and Aladdin are top three. So excited for Little Mermaid and Peter Pan.
You should react to the StarKid musical Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier. Basically they gave Ja'far the Wicked treatment. It's so good. Very funny, lots of meta jokes, amazing singing, and also kind of emotional
YES! I mean Hannah mentions Darren Criss in her Glee videos, so is not such a leap to watch some Starkid stuff. The next logical step, really. She should go full circle and react to Twisted, it's the best Starkid musical there is. It would be totally awesome.
so happy that you are reacting to this. Abu was voiced by the same voice actor; Frank Welker who also reprises his voice roles of Rajah the tiger and the Cave Guardian. Of course Jasmine is a babe since Naomi Scott is such a babe. Yup correct regarding Abu stealing the lamp back. Agreed, Mena definitely sounds like the singing voice that stood in for the Full House star with Aladdin's singing lines. Naomi is so perfect with her performances here. Correct regarding the Genie, he never lost his powers back then, he just wasn't tied down to a prison. The intro was meant to be homage to the intro in the original where a peddler shows the lamp to the audience as a 4th wall break and starts to explain the story. This was never confirmed back then in-movie but the Directors had later confirmed that it was meant to be a disguised Genie hence why Robin did that voice too BUT didn't do the peddler's singing voice.
Aladdin is hands down my favorite Disney movie and Jasmine so my favorite princess. This is my favorite live action remake so far that Disney has done.
You made so many good points! Aladdin and Jasmine had amazing chemistry (and sounded great apart and together), the movie was gorgeous, and Will Smith definitely worked best as the genie when he wasn't trying to emulate Robin Williams' performance. He's more than good enough in his own right that the parts where comparisons were easier to draw detracted from the character as a whole.
I think I'm a little late to say this but in speechless Naomi Scot was actually singing while they we're filming and I guess that's why there was so much tension in her throat. But anyways she killed it and to be honest it looks more realistic because if I was in a situation that I was as mad as she was, there would have been alot of tension in throat too.❤❤
This is the difference in getting a lead actress who can SING and one who is just sort of okay. I know they didn't help Emma Watson out at all by surrounding her with Broadway caliber singers and the auto-tuning, etc, but she never could've performed like Naomi Scott. Aladdin is my favorite of the Disney live actions, partly because of that, and also because it's not word-for-word the same as the animated one. It's just different enough, they tweaked just enough things, and I think it works SO well!
I say this a lot with Disney movies but I love this movie. I remember seeing this in theaters when it came out the first day. Everyone in this and the people who made this movie possible are so so flipping amazingly talented. Also yes I would love to see you react to more Disney live action movies! Love the videos! You do an amazing job!
Undoubtedly, Aladdin is the most visually impressive live-action movie Disney has ever made ('cause the Lion King was so realistic that it makes me uncomfortable). Perfect cast and music performances. Stunning!
i remember seeing this movie without any expectations, because Disney barely advertised it. So of course me and my friends were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed this movie! the cast is great and so are all the musical numbers, honestly its just such a fun movie night
The end credit dance number, made me realize we could’ve had a Bollywood style version of the movie. They did so much for the ensemble for numbers like “Prince Ali” but cut up the footage to not show anything for very long and showed too much of just Aladdin smiling nervously
I believe they started the live action with an epilogue was because in the animated movie, the story began with a travelling merchant (also voiced by the amazing Robin W.) who told the story of the lamp. And the movie was supposed to end with the reveal that the merchant was the genie all along but was cut due to time constraints. They kept the idea, considering that the live action genie also became a travelling merchant in the end. If I'm not wrong, the merchant that started story in the animation made a final appearance on Aladdin and the King of Thieves when Aladdin and Jasmine had one last carpet ride around Aggrabah after their wedding.
I loved this live action. I thought the main three (Mena, Naomi and Will) were so well cast. Movie was colorful and fun. I do love Hannah’s reaction! Please cheetah girls. Way overdueeeee
Most of Speechless was not pre-recorded. I don't know the reason for that, but it may be why you see the tension she's holding - she is singing the song in that moment.
It’s so impressive that Naomi was moving, acting, 𝓪𝓷𝓭 add emotion while singing speechless. It’s a very good but hard song to sing! And yet she sang it perfectly❤️❤️❤️😍
Here in Brazil, who dubbed the voice of Alladin was a great voice actor called Daniel Garcia. The amazing thing about this is that Daniel Garcia also goes by the stage name Gloria Groove. one of the greatest drag artists in Brazil. Please Hannah, if one day you can, get to know Gloria Groove's work, you will love it!!!
If we’re talking about the Brazilian dub, I wanna give a shout out to the voice actress who dubs Jasmine, Lara Suleiman! She does a GREAT job, and her rendition of Speechless is absolutely beautiful! She also dubs Luisa in Encanto, and her voice is just so amazing and versatile! (On an unrelated note, she was also the understudy of Wednesday Addams in the last production of the Addams Family musical in São Paulo, and she killed it)
I agree with you Hannah. The colors are amazing. The ensembles are amazing. I just love Jasmines dresses so much. I just want to watch this movie again and again just to see these beautiful dresses and colors
Can I just say how proud I am to consider myself Hannah’s student? I started watching these videos a couple of years ago and I don’t remember where I first saw her talk about tension in the neck/throat and i distinctly remember thinking back to Naomi singing speechless because I’d always thought that the tension was just a sign that the singer is putting a lot of power and emotion into it and it was Hannah who made me understand it. And as soon as I saw that she reacted to this movie I had to come back and hear what she had to say and AAAAHHHH I’m sorry for the rant lol but I just feel blessed to have been taught by Hannah 😭❤️
The way you make me feel when you react to these makes my heart flutter. I cried during speechless it was too powerful. Love you please keep doing these
21:33 I don’t know if anyone already said this but Naomi actually sang this live as they were shooting the movie. The director was a person that was really good about live singing and Naomi wanted to try to sing live and so she did. It made the Final Cut as we have all just seen
FUN FACT: Marwan Kenzari. Ft Jafar. Comes from the Netherlands he made it in America and that is awesome! Not many people can say that! The school he went to is in my city!
When you talked about that Aladdín versión where Aladdin is the villain made me think about Starkid's Twisted: the untold story of a royal visir. Have you seen it? It's honestly the best thing ever lol awesome songs sung by super talented actors, hilarious comedy, a Ja'far backstory and character arc very Wicked inspired, you should totally check it out if you haven't!
you should also watch the song taken out of Aladdin due to the movie being too long!! Its called Desert Moon. Alan Menken even did a intro for that song. Its so sweet
i watched this movie with my dad and my twin sister on theaters on my 14th birthday, before the pandemic we'd always watch a movie together (my dad moved to a different city because of his job and so i haven't spent that much time with him lately), it brings me back good memories!!
Hannah please watch movies till the end😭 the opening scene was necessary cuz in the finale scene you find out that these are the Genie and Dalia’s kids and they started a family togetherrrrrr😭😭😭😭
Watching your videos always brings a smile to my face. I love watching you react to things and laughing with you. Please never stop bringing joy to us. ❤️
this was one of the live action adaptations i genuinely liked and enjoyed bc they had the flavor of the original but added their own twist especially in the music! everything was fresh and i think the budget on this was wooow. look at the outfits and all the colors and CGI! the casting was great i guess lol but especially mena as aladdin and naomi as jasmine, they were perfect! i was obsessed with mena for a whole year when this came out lmao. i love that you liked it too!
they say "we pride ourselves on service" in a funny way because they we're literally regular people that became slaves to the magic lamp and slaves to serve people.... they don't actually want to serve them. This is demonstrated when the genie has to grant Jafar's wishes even tho he doesn't want to.
The costumes in this are fabulous! They are trying to make a second one, the last I heard there is a script in the works. I love to see you react to a cinderella story if the shoe fits.
I liked the part at the beginning where Will Smith (genie) is on the boat and is telling the kids the story of Aladdin as at the end of the animated movie, Genie goes off to “explore the world” as that was always his dream. So it’s a nod to how the Genie got to have his travel journey in the end 😊
Naomi Scott sang part of the second speechless live on the set which made it all the more impressive

@@MattZRJSRoxy Cinderella is the same as cartoon storywise, they also added a little bit, but not much.. but it looks stunning. Definitly a beautiful movie. Mulan however.. is a general bad movie. They made some things the same.. but they left out most of the movie and added so much other trashy storylines that if you gave the movie anothe name, you wouldnt even recognize it was mulan.
yesssss this is why I love maleficent so much
@@dolcebelcanto3626 I love maleficent too, such a good movie
its been a year so its probably too late to say this, but in an interview will smith actually said he didnt wanna take the genie role originally bc he felt that robin williams smashed it and he didn't want to top it out of respect, but then he had a moment where he felt it would be fun to put his own spin on the character, and i think he did a really good job!
the best parts of his songs were when he was being Will Genie and not trying to be Robin Williams Genie fr
@Day Always found that hilariously ironic tbh. "won't be silence" she sings as she's captured immediately.
Jasmine was always a feminist
I love Lemonade Mouth so much
She's so gone! :)
Breaking my silence : I actually enjoyed the live action Mulan
@@Sthuthukile I agree. I think as a remake of the original Disney movie it sucked, they took tons of liberties with their original story that it didn’t feel like the same movie; however, on its own, I feel like the movie was fine
@@Sthuthukile I loved Live action Mulan too
the reason you can see so much tension in naomi’s neck during speechless is because she actually sang most of that song live. very impressive.
YESSSSS!
No I completely agree I hate how she said that because he defo wasn't trying to be him
I thought the rap part of Friend like Me was what made Will's different from Robin's and I loved it! By far, my favorite live action remake

I think that is not Mena Massoud who is dancing😢
Oh my god my dad would not stop singing speechless when this movie came out, like he would even tell my mom whenever we were going out that she looked so good it left him “SPEEECHLEEEEEES” 😭
That's so cute!
This is adorable
goals
This is hands down the best live action Disney movie from this current era. Will Smith was the right choice for genie because just like with Robin Williams if he can't sing on par with the others he has charisma to back him up. Also having him walk around and be human helped with the uncanny valley of the CGI (work smarter not harder). I also loved the set design and costumes like you did. Showcasing so much culture. Culture is fun.
And yes Naomi Scott is a gem
Just because it’s the best live action movie doesn’t mean it’s a good movie on its own, but this one is the rest of the ones aren’t
I love the little harmony they throw in on "feeling" (18:15) it's only a small difference from the original version but it fits in so nicely, also their voices sound so good together
I accidentally turned the subtitles on and when Jafar said "I wish to be Sultan of Agrabah" the subtitles said "I wish to be southern Nevada" 😂
Which I think is so amazing and one of the reasons why its my favourite song of any of the recent Disney Live action movies
aladdin is the ONLY disney live action that’s actually kinda good. also, it’s so wholesome watching your reactions to movies
Um hello, Cinderella 2015? In terms of cinematography anyway
Definitely agree with Cinderella! In terms of storytelling and character development too, just such a good movie
also the jungle book
Maleficent can’t be beat but Aladdin is good too
let’s be fr. beauty and the beast is the best. aladdin is a close second
i genuinely think this is the best live action adaptation disney has put out since they started doing them with beauty and the beast - it has it''s flaws, but i like that they added a lot to jasmine's character. she seems a lot more fleshed out with her ambitions and such than her animated counterpart, though it's been a long time since i've seen the animated aladdin.
this is one of my guilty pleasure movies. I understand the frustration of disney just making live-action movies and being unoriginal, but this one's different for me. I am absolutely obsessed. And i LOVE speechless
Ditto!
Can we take a moment to appreciate👏how 👏awesome👏the 👏ensemble 👏were!! They did so good and really added to the songs as a whole, such as Prince Ali
The version of Naomi singing Speechless in the studio is so good
I'm glad you actually liked this one! This is probably my second favorite live action, Cinderella being my first.
I am usually not a big live action Disney movie, but when I watched this for the first time. It was my favorite Disney live action movie. I loved there voices I loved everything about this movie.
I had to watch it just because Naomi was in it.
In an interview she said it was really hard because everyone on set had to be completely quiet.
will smith actually came to set the day they were filming speechless because Naomi sang it live and he cried because she was so good
"if Wicked and Aladdin had a baby" might be the greatest description of Twisted i've ever heard xD
Finally someone said it! Twisted is honestly one of the best musicals ever. And I’m a fan of a ton of musicals, theatre and filmed.
I’m so sad but glad that I was allowed to see this masterpiece in real life
Raise your hand if you think Cinderella was the best Disney live action remake
(On a separate note, Hannah, you look so lovely today. Your sweater is so cute!)
Yes!! It is a beautiful movie. It gives you a ‘free’ and warm feeling in some way. Lily James did amazing!
It is great, but I enjoyed The Jungle Book too.
I think 101 Dalmatian’s was good too
I think after Cinderella, Aladdin's live action is my favorite. I enjoyed it so much.
I love watching Hannah’s honest reactions! We gotta start a Mamma Mia 1 and 2 reaction next!
The person who plays Jafar is a Dutch actor, I’m also Dutch and very proud of him, playing in this movie. Of course other movies too.
You should react to the StarKid musical Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier. Basically they gave Ja'far the Wicked treatment. It's so good. Very funny, lots of meta jokes, amazing singing, and also kind of emotional
Yessss that's what I said! It's free on starkids UA-cam channel!!
YES! I mean Hannah mentions Darren Criss in her Glee videos, so is not such a leap to watch some Starkid stuff. The next logical step, really. She should go full circle and react to Twisted, it's the best Starkid musical there is. It would be totally awesome.
Please do it, Hannah!!!
I came in the comments to say this as soon as she started talking about Jafar! It's very well done, I love a good StarKid musical!
I feel like theres this shadow tint yall put on when we watch these movies when it recently comes out bc these songs SLAPS
A Whole New World was the biggest nostalgia punch in the feels out of all of the remakes. Especially since the singing by the two were amazing.
She actually sang speechless live which is insane
so happy that you are reacting to this.
But anyways she killed it and to be honest it looks more realistic because if I was in a situation that I was as mad as she was, there would have been alot of tension in throat too.❤❤
I'm obsessed with the live-action Aladdin. It's my favorite of the remakes by a long shot.
Aladdin is by far my favorite live action movie Disney has done!! It’s is incredible!!!
Undoubtedly, Aladdin is the most visually impressive live-action movie Disney has ever made ('cause the Lion King was so realistic that it makes me uncomfortable). Perfect cast and music performances. Stunning!
When Naomi Scott sang “Speechless” she was singing it live while filming. One of the interviews they did when the movie came out mentions it.
I don’t really know much about singing but I think her straining her voice adds emotion to the song
i remember seeing this movie without any expectations, because Disney barely advertised it.
SAME! IDK WHY BUT I ALSO LOVE THE LION KING 2019
Most of Speechless was not pre-recorded. I don't know the reason for that, but it may be why you see the tension she's holding - she is singing the song in that moment.
I think you should definitely, if you haven't already, watch Twisted by starkids! It's my favorite rendition of Aladdin! And the voices are amazing!!!
Love you please keep doing these
You really should react to the extra song, Desert Moon, it's sooooo beautiful. Another duet from Jasmine and Alladin.
I also got chills during a whole new world, even during these little clips you showed! It’s just all so magical.
This is actually one of my favorite live-action Disney movies. Cinderella takes the top slot but I really loved Maleficent and it's sequel too.
21:33 I don’t know if anyone already said this but Naomi actually sang this live as they were shooting the movie. The director was a person that was really good about live singing and Naomi wanted to try to sing live and so she did. It made the Final Cut as we have all just seen
We are just moving through the live action Disney films! I have not seen this one, so I'm watching it for the first time with Ms. Hannah!
Yessss same. Its free on starkids UA-cam channel. She should so react it. Dylan's voice is God tier
There is a deleted song that Jasmine and Aladdin sing together called The Dessert Moon that is absolutely beautiful, you should listen to it as well
you should also watch the song taken out of Aladdin due to the movie being too long!! Its called Desert Moon. Alan Menken even did a intro for that song. Its so sweet
13:35 it’s because he didn’t wanna be the same fact same as like robin william was so he wanted to make the genie kinda himself too
i watched this movie with my dad and my twin sister on theaters on my 14th birthday, before the pandemic we'd always watch a movie together (my dad moved to a different city because of his job and so i haven't spent that much time with him lately), it brings me back good memories!!
Hannah please watch movies till the end😭 the opening scene was necessary cuz in the finale scene you find out that these are the Genie and Dalia’s kids and they started a family togetherrrrrr😭😭😭😭
In my opinion Aladdin was by far the best Disney live action, and no live action will ever be able to top it. It was just perfectly cast
Watching your videos always brings a smile to my face. I love watching you react to things and laughing with you. Please never stop bringing joy to us. ❤️
actually Naomi Scott sang majority of speechless live during that part, which explains the veins. Oof, what a song to be able to sing-
the thing the live action does so much better than the animation, is showing what a certifed badass Jasmin is.
this was one of the live action adaptations i genuinely liked and enjoyed bc they had the flavor of the original but added their own twist especially in the music! everything was fresh and i think the budget on this was wooow. look at the outfits and all the colors and CGI! the casting was great i guess lol but especially mena as aladdin and naomi as jasmine, they were perfect! i was obsessed with mena for a whole year when this came out lmao. i love that you liked it too!
they say "we pride ourselves on service" in a funny way because they we're literally regular people that became slaves to the magic lamp and slaves to serve people.... they don't actually want to serve them.
