Beautiful rendition of one of the great songs of all time--a song about how deep, heartfelt love leads to misery. The couple's expressions at the end of the third verse show some second thoughts about their choice of wedding song.
Holy SMOKES what a voice! Stunning performance! 👏👏👏

Thank you Garrett. It's a great song indeed. And I live just a short distance from Inniskeen village. Thanks for listening and commenting. Take care.
Heard hundreds of versions of my all time favourite song, and this one sits right behind, albeit a discreet distance from Luke's ultimate, simply lovely!

Thabks John. Glad you enjoyed my version of such an iconic tune.
Lovely version... Although it is a song about lost love rather than the joy of marriage.

Glad you enjoyed it. You're not the first to tell me the meaning of the song (check the comments) but I think the song meant a lot to the couple so each to their own I guess. Thanks again
I agree. It difficult to find an Irish song that reflects true happiness given our long and sad history. Thinking of Grace - man executed, Field of Athenry - Famine , Spancil Hill - emigration.....so ya, hard to find a happy song, perhaps the songs of Italia '90....
@ I have been serching for a good version of Raglan road and yours is as good as any I have found.

@@LindaHutchings I'd love to hear it when it's done
Great performance, and great poem / song - but this might not be the best piece to recite at a wedding, as it is ultimately about unfulfilled love, unrequited longing and alienated lonelines... a bit dark for a happy wedding.
I don’t think that song was appropriate for a wedding , it tells of love lost and not of love found .

Amazing insight. Thank you. This song was in fact very appropriate for this particular couple as they love the song and wanted it included in their Wedding Ceremony. But thanks for listening and do come back again soon with more feedback.
Nonsense, it is about a man's courage to go after a woman he has affection for. It doesn't work out in the song, but it is very relatable non the less.

It’s beautifully sung Well filmed with lovely backing

Beautiful love song. Poetic lyrics
One of my favourites to sing. Written by the Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh

True. But the song is a man lamenting the fact his love has left him. Appropriate?
Oh Ian, leave the UA-cam police and get a hobby.

Lovely version. Restores faith in the song after Ed Sheeran and some dreadful woman murdered it entirely on New Year's Eve on TV!
Thank you. I didn't hear his version but I'll take your word for it 😂😂
I have since heard that version and to be honest - I must agree with you 😅👍🏻💯
Beautiful song - not sure how appropriate at a wedding though ( especially when the bride is a brunette!! ) Very odd choice !
Thanks for listening.
The song had a particular special meaning to the couple, the context of which is obviously not included here.
Very inappropriate for a wedding ceremony, the song is about unrequited love. Fair rendition of Mr Kavanagh’s poem though.
🥱🥱🥱 What determines, in your head, whether a song is appropriate or not for someone else's wedding ceremony?
Thanks for the fair compliment though. 😂😂
What a strange song for a wedding
Chosen by the couple and holds a particular meaning for them both.
I don’t think that song was appropriate for a wedding , it tells of love lost and not of love found .
