Thank u so much i have a large one that needs a pole. I am 70 and have never grown one before so i didnt have a clue how to do this. Your video was very informative the best one i have found thus far. I have grown many plants but this is a first for me.
They both look great! I have two babies that are stuck, no new growth anymore. I’ve repotted the one because it was root bound and it’s done nothing all winter. I’m thinking of giving them new soil, now that it’s Spring, and adding worm castings and see if that helps. Thank you for sharing! 💜💚🪴
Hi Sharon! Yes, I would suspect that a good dose of fertilizer, or worm castings will help stimulate some new growth. Warm spring weather and longer light should help too! Fingers crossed you get multiple large leaves this growing season. 💚
I cant tell which is front or back the plant is straight up and down both sides baby leaves are in the middle???? You are great giving information liked this video
Hi... finally I found the video I needed, But I was alwayssubscribed. Thank you! *Question= The Smaller Monstera deliciosa you replanted and pole, Wasn't there 2 tiny babies in front of the main young Monstera? And if there were 2 younger baby plants and their backs aren't against the pole will those 2 babies then spread and not climb vertical? Or was that 1 complete plant, ... Little confused, because I just purchased my first Monstera deliciosa from a nursery and to me like yours looks to me there are several baby plants within the new baby plant!! Help!!?? Because I want to pole my as well and don't really know if like yours these are 3 or 4 plants planted together in the nursery!!?
Hello! I repotted my Monstera plant as a single plant in the pot. I grew the seedling together in one pot, but as they got bigger I separated them out and put them in different pots. You definitely can grow multiple plants together. I just wanted mine to be a single plant to a pot for easier repotting down the line.
@The Contented Plant so your saying that smaller plant you repotted in the Video did not have smaller babies in front of it as you was planting it in the Video?
@@rcjoey_777 I see where the confusion is, the front of the plant where the smaller leaves are look like a separate plant. Those are the tiny baby leaves it grew as a seedling, the larger section on the back are the bigger leaves it grew as it matured. It still has those tiny leaves, but they are slowly yellowing and dying off as the plant ages.
I’m a new plant mom and have a monstera rooting in water. My question is, the soil mix you make, is that just for monstera’s or is it good for any house plant?
Any idea if Philodendrons have a front and back side? I just poled up my Mayoi but I'm not too sure if I go the facing right. The aerial roots seem to protrude 360 outwards, but one side more than the other. So I put the pole against the longer aerial roots - but - the leaves seem to want to go that way. So I'm not entirely sure
I just came across your chanel. You have really nice videos with lots of informations, really good! I've got 2 monastera plants which I bought.. One is quite big already and I'm thinking of repotting to new soil and using a moss pole.. One is small, probably smaller than your baby.. Its got very nice fenestration but the leaves are all crinkled, as of they were dried out.. I do not even how to describe it. Yours look very firm, shiny, smooth, sleek. Mine are folded, like old leaves, wrinkled.. Do you know what might be the cause of that? I bought it off someone who propagated it.. I tries watering thoroughly, but I do kot want to waste it by overwatering. Its a lovely plant.. Od love the leaves to get their firmness and smoothness back.. Any tips, dear? Best regards ♥️
New plant mom with no clue what to do: I had reported my monsters plant in a pot with no hole- I was at first struggling with water content but once a week isn’t so bad and it’s happy. I now need to put in a moss pole- should I change the pot? Why do we use pots with holes? What if I don’t have one since I already potted it- can I keep it?
Hi! My first question is how big is your Monstera? If it's a large adult Monstera that is starting to lean, it will need a moss pole. If it's a baby plant (3-4 leaves) and is not leaning, you can get away with no pole for a bit. Pots with holes are important because they keep the soil from over-saturating and rotting your plant roots. Keeping a plant in a pot with no drainage hole is risky and requires very close attention to the soil and how saturated it is. For my Monstera I usually water them every 2-2.5 weeks. Once a week may result in soil that is too wet. If you want to switch out to a moss pole and a pot with a drainage hole, now would be a good time. I would get it in a good pot before the growing season starts. Also, you can drill a hole into the bottom of your pot without a hole. Tik Tok has a few tutorials on it. I've done it to a few of my ceramic pots. I would only do that when the pot is empty though.
I get the Velcro brand 1 inch by 35 ft on Amazon. Here is the link, hopefully you can copy and paste it in. Otherwise search the plant velcro brand and it should pop up. www.amazon.com/dp/B08D6PW6ML?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzunrealhe-20&creativeASIN=B08D6PW6ML&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1Y9YSTRGSELK3&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin&th=1
What made you choose this specific pot and not a larger size of the previous pot? As it only has 1 hole at the bottom, does that pot provide enough drainage?? I gravitate towards terra cotta pots but usually have my plants in a separate pot and place them inside the larger sized pots. In the past, using 1 hole drainage didnt do so well, any suggestions?
Hello! I need to do a plant update on these Monstera's. They are still in the same pots that I repotted them into in the video. They are both doing well. The drainage hole is large and has been sufficient for the plants. If you have a chunky and well draining soil mix, you should be okay with 1 drainage hole. I also let my plants get fairly dry between waterings (usually 2-2.5 weeks) As long as you aren't overwatering you should be able to plant them with a single drainage hole. I hope that helps! 💚
They are. Can’t believe people are still calling them moss poles, especially people who’re making video’s about plants, they should know coir has nothing to do with promoting arial roots etc.
Hi Maddy! That depends on how big your pot is. Mine were so tight there really wasn't any other way to put the moss pole in. If you have room at the back of your plant, you can try scooping the soil away and gently sliding the moss pole down.

They look so pretty in those pots. Thanks for the tips! Great to know not to plant them too deep.
Thanks!

@The Contented Plant Oh ok, understood!! Thank you so much in taking the time to answer both times!! 😊 🪴

How long does it take for a plant to grow from seed for this large plant?
What brand and width of plant velcro do you recommend for the size plant you’re working on?

Do you have to keep the moss in the pole moist?
I don't keep mine moist all the time. When i'm watering them, I will spritz them down. But I don't go out of my way to keep them moist
Beautiful plants! Love how they turned out.
Thanks so much 😊
I was waiting to see you water the moss pole but you left it dry.
Those coir poles seem useless to me.
They are. Can’t believe people are still calling them moss poles, especially people who’re making video’s about plants, they should know coir has nothing to do with promoting arial roots etc.
Do I need to repot whenever I put moss poles in? Or can I just stick them in? I just repotted my monstera and I don’t want to give her shock 😩
