so few people deserve the title of genius but Jeff Lynne is one of those people who really does. He is a legend, and his talent is not just as a performer but also a producer. he a megastar but still has the touch of the common man that makes you feel like he is the guy next door to you and no sign of any inflated ego
There’s more than four in him … also violin, cello, double bass, synths, percussion … Joe Walsh says he can’t remember how many instruments Jeff can play …🤗
Jeff was seriously the major reason I started recording music. He could literally play everything on his records and that just blew my fuckin' mind. How can a man be THAT good? He just is. And that voice! Chill inducing!
Congratulations, Jeff, Jeff, Jeff and Jeff. All very good. Excellent interpretation. And it's a very nice detail to have the Traveling Wilburys' Gretsch guitar behind it.
Jeff Lynne is one of the old fashioned real musicians. All he ever wanted to do, was making music ... good music. I've been for his music since I was a little boy in the late 70s and longing for new material since ELO disbanded. It's so great that he's back now.... and that there will be even more new songs next year!
I got to see him a few years ago. His voice sounds as good as it did in 1974. Dhani Harrison opened for ELO and then sang Handle With Care with the band. It was 2 hours of greatest hits
I really need to know Jeff’s secret formula for always getting that great snare drum sound in all his recordings! You instantly know he produced or engineered a recording just by hearing that snare sound!
I am everlastingly proud of Jeff Lynne. He sings and plays ever so beautifully!! I love this handsome, beautiful, sexy man. Truly beautiful. Always have loved him since I first saw him. Love you Jeff Lynne!! Thank you for composing such the bestest and most beautifullest music!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He's still got a great voice. Just watched the documentary on JL, from the affectionate reminiscing of having to get up to go to work etc. an impression was given of a man who's appreciative of his success even though it was inevitable with his talent unlike some narcissistic fame hungry artists today.
this is serious music performed by serious musicians.. younger viewres may not appreciate how good these guys are . i feel so sad for the kids of today who have been brought up brainwashed with all things simon cowell .
Originally a member of The Idle Race (search for their music here on UA-cam), then joined Move, then formed ELO, then the Traveling Wilburys and two solo albums and produced many albums in between (Dave Edmunds, Del Shannon, etc.). This man is power pop royalty.
This is a Rolling Stones song from 1965 and was written by Don Convay prior to that. It's a great song that resurfaces every 20 years or so. Quite frankly, this version isn't as good as the stones, but I'm glad he chose to bring it out again and let another generation turn on to it. May even be a good one to include as a cover on my new CD. Jeff isn't really reaching the blues audience as a rule. and I reach nothing but the blues fans. I think my new CD will scare them away possibly.
Espero que este año, en el 50 ANIVERSARIO de ELO, se lance, por fin, LONG WAVE 2 ... El Cover de Mercy Mercy es una JOYA y el vídeo es otra JOYA para los fans de JEFF... TIC TOC, TIC TOC ... 🔝❤️😎
"Mercy Mercy" is a blues song written by Don Covay and Ronald Dean Miller. In late 1964, the song became a hit for Don Covay and the Goodtimers reaching number one on the Cash Box R&B chart and number thirty-five on the Billboard Hot 100. The Rolling Stones covered it in 1965 and there version has far less clarity than either Jeffs or the Original!!!
saw this on the bbc4 docu and was taken by it immediately - no idea about who did it originally, but just love the chords esp. the E7 and the unexpected major/minor. seems to be such an all-round nice bloke, given what he's done and been responsible in the last 40 yrs of music.only a couple of things nark me a little bit 1)whenever he produces someone, it can end up sounding like a 'jeff lynne' record - i think it's to do with the drum sound/beat and 2) i like the NWR songs they are! :-)
Actually Don Covay did it before the Stones, Matt. (With a certain J.Hendrix on guitar) And Booker T and the MGs did a good version too. I like The Jeffs version though, it's solid
Can never have too many Jeff Lynne’s!

This video explains a lot. I knew there couldn't possibly be so much talent in just one individual. Now I know there's four of them.
😊❤
The second Fab Four 😉💖
Jeff is multi-talented so it makes sense.
There’s more than four in him … also violin, cello, double bass, synths, percussion … Joe Walsh says he can’t remember how many instruments Jeff can play …🤗
@@leoiori9675, and Tom Petty said Jeff plays the studio like no one else!

The God of music has come back from Heaven for a second time around! :D
A living legend. Pure genius
One of the most talented people to walk the earth. Incredible man
Love this video, Jeff is so talented. Love his beautiful voice.
I really need to know Jeff’s secret formula for always getting that great snare drum sound in all his recordings! You instantly know he produced or engineered a recording just by hearing that snare sound!

Jeff Lynne is a living legend and musical genius!
In love with this song
Jeff I got your music cranking at home every day - thanks for all the enjoyment we get from hearing your melodies & that distinctive, awesome voice!!
He's still got a great voice. Just watched the documentary on JL, from the affectionate reminiscing of having to get up to go to work etc. an impression was given of a man who's appreciative of his success even though it was inevitable with his talent unlike some narcissistic fame hungry artists today.
Wow, never knew this even existed! It’s one of my very favorite early Stones songs!! Mick and Keith, Brian, Charlie and Bill very young and cool!

He´s a legend!
His electric guitar solos make me think of his days in the idle race
What a cool video to a great song performed by one of my favorite musicians. It doesn't get any better.
The only way he could get better is if there really were four of him, and all four lived next door to me.❤️
My hero - all four of them lol
Jeff, Jeff, Jeff, Jeff, we madly love you!!!!!!! LEGEND, GENIUS, GOD... Please, have mercy on me!!
Infatuated with this amazing talented genius❤

Such a great cover. Great vid too
and the late great Phoebe Snow did a killer version on her 1980 LP, Rock Away, which has still not been released on cd. Go Jeff!!
just oozes class.
i love this song ,great classic

1.Excellent.
Wow I fucking missed this, great song from my uncle Jeff!
My favourite bit in the video was when Jeff Lynne was on the instruments
Гуд джоб, Джеф ! 👍
As far as I'm concerned you can upload every piece of music Jeff has ever composed (and performed) ......
note george's wilbury guitar near the drummer jeff!
I see that Jeff is playing a Duesenberg signed by Mike Campbell. I wonder if Mike will sign mine too.
I love this one
More! More!
duesenberg 'mike campbell' signature guitar, i believe mike's in the heartbreakers
Amazing.
Jeff Lyne is not one of the Heartbreakers....he was a member of ELO and also payed with Petty as a member of the Traveling Wilburys
