Everyone is complaining about the drastic time changes but I personally think they pull it off well. It's heavy then melodic then chorusy it's very sparatic but not in an annoying way. It covers a lot of ground in this song. Definitely one of my favorite newly signed bands for sure.
This is one of very few bands where the vocalist keeps his accent as he sings. That alone makes them unique and to top that off, if this was on my phone and it was on shuffle, I would NOT mistake who this is. Two, of many, reasons to love this band. I have always loved their work and they STILL haven't let me down.
i agree, it has a circle of contempt song structure too, all of their instrumental work is amazing, the vocals fuck it up soooo much, ive learned to just tune them out....i dont think this vocalist fits this band at all tho.... even his chelsea grin shrieks and lows are a bit sad... and then the blink 182 singing just fucking makes me pause the song, then search for all their instrumental work cuz it really kills the vibe for me... its soo fuckin gay sounding like starting 3:12 i just cringe and go to whitechapel, all shall perish, or whithin the ruins to shake it off holy shit it sounds fucking gay
not that i hate blink 182 or anything but it just doesss not work with the way these songs are written, because OAA songs are masterpieces instrumentally
I can't help but to like this super disorganized sound and structure. Plus, I think the instrumentals are fantastic. I can honestly say I'm really intrigued to hear more, good job lads.
I do have to agree with you, it sounds rather disorganized when compared to other bands but it sounded like this way off of the EPs and they can actually pull it off.
Still listening in 2022, absolute banger. This was my jam when I was going through a tough time, seeing you guys live at Slam Dunk 2017 was a real high point for me... still need to see you again, keep up the amazing work 💪
Sometimes when a band has a lot of screaming their singing skills lack, or visa versa. Thats obviously not the case with theses guys! So Stoked for the new album!
Followed OAA since the beginning, I remember jamming to clocks and taming lions when they had less than 200 views, they're an amazing band and watching these guys grow and get the recognition they deserve has been rewarding and has made me so proud of this group of fellow English lads :')
Upon listening to this i crapped myself thrice commenced with the cleanup and prayed that other metal bands would learn from these chaps. Well done, well done indeed.
Got my brother obsessed with this band because of this song, it's so good so who can blame him? The accent in his vocals really adds to the whole feel of the song.
I love this song and I'm so happy my friend found these guys and we got tickets to see them at Birmingham , I even got to met some of them and hear this song, simply amazing , wonderful unique artist. I hope they make it far, they deserve it .
How the hell do you guys pull this music off so well?!?! I love the album art I think it's an Artic Jellyfish, regardless I'm definitely picking this album up.
This band continues to impress and amaze me. To Catch A Flame is my favorite by them, but Blood Brothers and this song are just mind-blowing. I can't wait to here more. Fearless, you will not be disappointed by these guys. :)
I've probably listened to this song like ten times now... I love it! I can't wait for the album to come out, every song off it I've listened to so far has blown me away, the album is going to be incredible! OAA should tour the states soon =)
Always looking for something fresh & this is fresh. Different variances in the song is really interesting and I like it. My homie calls stuff like this " fairy metal". Told him " what? because he can actually sing??" I can appreciate a metalist who has vocals, but can can turn into a fucking metal beast is an impressive feat. Singing takes skill & screaming takes skill. Word up...
I have high expectations for their next album. I loved their EP Into The Deep. It was one of the best ep I ever heard. I love how they combine progressive metal with that metalcore style both them and Erra.
it's safe to say one would not get bored of listening to this half way through beings it is very hyperactive and it does not consist of three notes and a couple palm mutes.
That was actually awesome! The way it changed pace/tone instead of going with a typical core instrumental pattern. The vocal range was amazing, I especially loved the highs! And the lyrics were far from typical (in my opinion). All in all I personally thought this was an amazing song, I'm so glad I decided to check it out :)
Very interesting beat this song has. I'm impressed that these guys can keep synchronized together with such a disorganized beat. Very nice, guys! Finally something a little more fresh to listen to :)
The way this song is organized can be seen as a reference to how the emotions of the singer are. For example the heavier parts are showing anger. The fastest part as a plead for help and last more melodic can be for giving up or into the feeling or just as a venting. But i don't know im high sooo

The time signature changes place them in a subgenre called mathcore. It's really cool!
Yeah these changes guarantee these dudes are here to stay. So good.
I don't give a fuck what anyone says Oceans Ate Alaska is a good fucking band. I haven't heard anything by them that I can complain about.
Dickyyy
Dicky is the best and so is this band tbh
i've loist all sense in space and toime just thinkin about when you were moine
this isn't blink 182.
Cody Robinson it's oaa-182
OAA-432
Kaylynn Littrell pick me up off the floorbourds
The way you spelled mines. Exactly how he pronounces it.

Victor from Betraying the Martyrs ? He still has his French accent while singing.
You are right. Like I said, very few. :)
Paul Ingraham Also Chunk No Captain Chunk's singer has a french accent as well while singing
I saw chunk live. They put on an amazing show.
Singer came on stage in a panda suit, I was had.
Well now I know not many OAA fans listen to much technical/progressive stuff. This 'flows' fucking fantastically.
It really has an extremely proggy flow.
There was some mention of Reflections earlier on, but that is as good as it gets
The sheer technicality of this song and all of OAA's songs alike is beyond measure. Job magnificently done.
What a drummer ?OMFG!!!!
this band is like structures meets rings of Saturn meets parkway drive. there time signatures and aggressive drumming are so tasty to the ear
I hear within the ruins tone in "Entity" for sure
i agree, it has a circle of contempt song structure too, all of their instrumental work is amazing, the vocals fuck it up soooo much, ive learned to just tune them out....i dont think this vocalist fits this band at all tho.... even his chelsea grin shrieks and lows are a bit sad... and then the blink 182 singing just fucking makes me pause the song, then search for all their instrumental work cuz it really kills the vibe for me... its soo fuckin gay sounding like starting 3:12 i just cringe and go to whitechapel, all shall perish, or whithin the ruins to shake it off holy shit it sounds fucking gay

best album of 2015 imo
1:55 brings so many feels. This is the first song that introduced me to this band.
This song is literally perfection, the instrumentals are mind blowing. The vocalist is so versatile and skilled. Amazing.
This was the first metalcore band I got into when this came out my sophomore year of high school. One of my all time favorite bands
What an introduction to metalcore lmao I wouldve been scared shitless if this was my first band
@@michaelwave1034 damn for real hahaha!!
This is such a rewarding song to listen to again. The first listen was hard to get into but the second time it sounds so so good.
Definitely agree with you there, this is going to be one of those albums that grows on people and then blows up into a huge album.
every listen you notice new things you like about this song and it gets better every time you listen because of that :3
^ yes.
Vibraslap at 2:21. Truly the most Metal of all instruments. Great track!
I can't help but to like this super disorganized sound and structure. Plus, I think the instrumentals are fantastic.
I can honestly say I'm really intrigued to hear more, good job lads.
Disorganized? This is pieced together incredibly well.
I do have to agree with you, it sounds rather disorganized when compared to other bands but it sounded like this way off of the EPs and they can actually pull it off.
"I can't help but to like.." As if this wasn't meant to be liked?
I was thinking the same thing. It's so messy and needs more spacing, but I still like it. Cool with me! haha
Urix9999 A lot of people here seem to think otherwise.
An exceptional band with a quite remarkable vocalist. Screams, growls and cleans of quality.
I love how Oceans Ate Alaska sound unique and technical. I really love the cleans in this song!
Literally everything I could every want in a metalcore band.
Still listening in 2022, absolute banger. This was my jam when I was going through a tough time, seeing you guys live at Slam Dunk 2017 was a real high point for me... still need to see you again, keep up the amazing work 💪
its not disorganised its infact organized choas and thats why i love it
Sometimes when a band has a lot of screaming their singing skills lack, or visa versa. Thats obviously not the case with theses guys! So Stoked for the new album!

The vocalist could seriously be in a kickass pop punk band if he wanted to be.
Fuck that lmao
He can be in a pop punk band and in a deathcore band...
Yeah i agree his clean voice is like Blink182 lol, but scream like a deathcore vocalist
So glad these guys are finally getting the recognition they deserve!
Excluding the clean sections at 0:34-0:49, 1:42-2:32, and 3:12-end, this is SO. AMAZING.
I have been following these guys for years now, i am glad to see a label throw them a bone
Hands down. Thickest accent I have ever heard on a vocalist. You can even tell it in his growling/screaming.
Rude Red Panda Happened a bit with Danny worsnop too
What does thickest accent mean? I speak spanish
Are they from the Midlands ?
@@joshforeman1648 Hell yeah they are, they say Birmingham
@@davidll4334 You can hear some British-like accent when he speaks, but it's not as subtle as most British-sounding singers.
Such a great band just got into them and wow! I'm impressed with their sound and lyrics
I love that 'Up' gang vocal at the last part, want to shout that in the live lol
PanupanCheungtrakarnTubthey did in Chicago during warped tour
blacklotus 9*5 man, I hope they come to thailand sometime lol
Hopefully lol
I love their sound. I love how everything is just thrown at you.
I love this song and I'm so happy my friend found these guys and we got tickets to see them at Birmingham , I even got to met some of them and hear this song, simply amazing , wonderful unique artist. I hope they make it far, they deserve it .
Need to see you guys again! Hurry up and tourrr
How the hell do you guys pull this music off so well?!?! I love the album art I think it's an Artic Jellyfish, regardless I'm definitely picking this album up.
This has to be my fave song on the album so far!! I can't wait for the entire album to come out! Great job OAA :)
The album is available to stream rn! Heavily reccomend it!
This band continues to impress and amaze me. To Catch A Flame is my favorite by them, but Blood Brothers and this song are just mind-blowing. I can't wait to here more. Fearless, you will not be disappointed by these guys. :)
This song is perfectly put together. Theyer to perfect.

I remember hearing their EP, wasn't crazy about it. This is a massive step up. I'm liking what I hear!
this is another level of music, a step ahead...congratulations guys!!
Great song - shows off both heavy & clean vocals in a great way
One of my favs off that album even though every song is amazing
I've probably listened to this song like ten times now... I love it! I can't wait for the album to come out, every song off it I've listened to so far has blown me away, the album is going to be incredible! OAA should tour the states soon =)
cant wait for this album to drop already!!!
This band is showing some impressive improvement. The instrumentals are quite fun~
I'm not sure if I'm more impressed by this song or how sick the lyric video is...
It's like pop punk, easycore, metalcore and mathcore all in the same song. You gotta love it
It's really awesome to hear heavy British vocals. Love the more unstructured sound. They really make it work
Always looking for something fresh & this is fresh. Different variances in the song is really interesting and I like it. My homie calls stuff like this " fairy metal". Sick track ... can't wait to see you guys live !
I have high expectations for their next album. I loved their EP Into The Deep. It was one of the best ep I ever heard. I love how they combine progressive metal with that metalcore style both them and Erra.
1:50 onwards this section is just so beautiful
Perfection
they have come so far from there EP! they are gonna grow so much!
this is definitely my favorite song of theirs lyrically, so excited to hear the rest of lost isles!
I absolutely love this song. Thanks to OAA for delivering once again! The pre-chorus is especially amazing.
Usually when someone with an accent sings, you don't pick up on the accent. With OAA, it's really obvious, and I love it. It's different and awesome.
Holy hell I have just listened to this and have been listening to them since their EP. This is amazing
Great song!!!!!! Can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
I am sincerely in love with this bands complete mastery of tempo changes and time signatures. Definitely listening to this song on repeat.
Best band, best guitars
This is my favorite song off the album and I can't wait for the album to come out next week!
it's safe to say one would not get bored of listening to this half way through beings it is very hyperactive and it does not consist of three notes and a couple palm mutes.

2:41 that breakdown killed me!
Absolutely!! Amazing!!
Pretty crazy band. I love the clean vocals.
Everything is amazing
oceans ate Alaska all your favorite bands in one
That was actually awesome! The way it changed pace/tone instead of going with a typical core instrumental pattern. The vocal range was amazing, I especially loved the highs! And the lyrics were far from typical (in my opinion). All in all I personally thought this was an amazing song, I'm so glad I decided to check it out :)
I really like the mathy sound. Sound abit like old Architects. LOVING IT!
Very interesting beat this song has. I'm impressed that these guys can keep synchronized together with such a disorganized beat. Very nice, guys! Finally something a little more fresh to listen to :)
Possibly my favorite song off the new album, can't wait to hear the rest of Lost Isles c':

Holy shit. This definitely exceeded my expectations.
OAA never disappoints! Nice song can't wait for the album!
God forbid a band actually has a unique sound!!!!!!
The drummer absolutely shreds. His legs have to be numb and pounding after recording
Another reason why this is my favorite band
