Man I remember the first time I heard this song. Loaded it up on UA-cam, went to school, came home and that fucker was finally loaded to where I could watch it. Ahh the good ole days....
yeah, I remember they had a teaser (back in the day called trailor) with few seconds of the music video dropped first, I was mind blown by the breakdown part, so so hyped
Big love. I’m 31 and some of my friends I jammed to with this didn’t make it as well. I’m glad that you stayed friends with them though. My friends abandoned me when my Mom died.
Little older than you at 37 but your comment hit home. Just want you to say ive been going through it the same lost 7 friends and a wife just this year. I cannot and will not set my child up for a life of addiction like our generation did so selfishly. I'm pacing My time through treatment as we speak and my goal is to help others in the scene help themselves through Similar paths as not all sober routes are perfect for everyone. But going back to this song and why music of this time means so much to us. Me personally felt like i was part of a poli-social revolution. Then going on tour to find out that ever single state and little ass city had their own scene similar to the one back home. We were doing something big. And yet with all the ammunition we had as a group majority were lost to drugs and alcohol. I'll never regret it but if I somehow find myself in a similar position I'll make damn sure it doesn't end the same way. I'm truly sorry about your losses bruv I feel for you from the bottom of my heart and idk if you use or you were just the wise one out of your group who chose not to but if you do let me know if you need anything I'll help you get clean man. Message me back and I'll give you my details. Wish you the best and sorry if that seemed ranty I'm not the best at compiling huge events into tiny comments.
evan was one of my closest friends. He used to pick me up and we would go to his friends houses and listen to music and smoke and skate and shit. Dude i miss those days S O much...now im 30 and im still listening lmfao❤
Man we had good music back in the day. used to get everyone together jam out then go skating... nowadays everyone is on their own path and no one speaks to another. half in jail other half working for their families
yep it sucks. Used to drive around aimlessly in our boring town blasting this stuff and making memories and bad decisions. Fucking shitty how things change.
Their last show , playing this song , you felt the whole spirit of Vanna come alive. Me and everybody around me sang every word like it was orchestrated. Thank you for the years you’ve given everybody, you’ll truly be missed. 🥀🌹
2 nights ago I had a wild lucid dream. I was in a small living room with about 20 other people and Vanna came out. Played this song. The crowd sing, the feeling, the emotion. I woke up smiling with wet eyes. It was spiritual for me. This song (And whole album tbh) got me through some tough shit. I wrote a note on my phone about that dream so I never forget it. Fuck I wish these guys were still around and sounded like this.
Let's leave this place behind when we finally decide what it's gonna take to make you feel alive (feel alive). What's it gonna take to open up your eyes? to open up your eyes? It's time to get out of this town this torture (this torture). It still holds you down. Be blessed and move forward silent and sound. These words don't always come out right, but I feel that we're wasting time. Letting go of each other we're still holding tight. All these words don't always come out right, but I feel that we're wasting time. Are we wasting our time? Are you still holding tight? It was only fair to look to the sky, to breathe in the air, to wait in the shadows. With empty hands, no sense of pride. Would you give up if we'd all given up. 'Til the East was ours we drew the lines that divide. Stapled these badges of pain to our sides. To our sides. We've all had our enemies we're leaving the past behind. I don't feel like I'm losing sleep. I know you can see it in my eyes. We've all had our enemies we're leaving the past behind. I don't feel like I'm losing sleep. I know you can see it in my eyes. You can see it in my eyes. You can see it in my eyes. These words don't always come out right, but I feel that we're wasting time. Letting go of each other we're still holding tight. All these words don't always come out right, but I feel that we're wasting time. Are we wasting our time? Are you still holding tight? I'll leave my heart there by your bedside if you swear that your eyes won't stray. To be honest, open and hoping. To find the words to say. I'll leave my heart there by your bedside if you swear that your eyes won't stray. In honesty, honestly I only let go for the sake of you.
almost in tears hearing this again for the first time in a while. song still slaps in 2019, NO doubt \m/ thank you, gentlemen for your contribution. you're heroes
All these words, don't always come out right But I feel that we're wasting time Are we wasting our time? Are we still holding tight? Such beautiful words written and still echoing in my head this day, 14 years later. Thank you Vanna. Safe to say, we're still holding tight.
I love Vanna... and I've seen people call them "generic" no, they actually have great lyrics, and they are a great band. I pre ordered their new album and i know it will be worth it, and if you like good music you should too. Vanna forever
Every time i listen to 'Wild Child' by Wind In Sails / Evan, it always makes me come back to this song.. and then the entire album, and then A New Hope, then And They Came Baring Bones
I can't believe this shit has 1.3 million views now. Remember when it had like 20-50 thousand or something. So glad they are finally getting there, they deserve it. Their music is awesome!
best vanna´s songs: 1.safe to say 2.scarlet shroud 3.the search party never came 4.like changing seasons 5.year of the rat 6.please stay 7.red hands, blue river
One of the reasons I love Vanna is that every album sounds unique and different. 'Boo boo they didn't make the same record 7 times in a row' is basically what I'm seeing in the comments on this and It saddens me that people don't see they beauty in progression. I listened to Vanna back when this came out and I'm still a huge fan today. I would say go see them live and you'll see what I mean, but it's a bit too late for that. RIP Vanna
Everyone should go check out Vanna's ex lead singer's new project! It's called Wind in Sails! He's still amazing as hell. My favorite is Level Head. c:
Actually I was the lead CLEAN vocalist. I sang just as much as any of our screamers shouted. Backing vocals and doing all the clean singing are entirely different
Evan wrote all the music and got screwed but I don't even like that kind of music but getting more use to it and hear his new stuff all the time in my house because he's my wife's cousin but he is truly the nicest dude.
Dang! Look at them. This is so throwback. Still their best work, although everything they have ever put out has been completely amazing. I love this band so much.
This takes me back to 2009. Such a good year and great music. Miss this band so much. Definitely got me through tough times, saw them at the knitting factory in Hollywood and honestly I'll always cherish that memory.
lol Vanna is still fucking awesome bro look up a song called "The weekly slap in the face" people just hate because they're doing something different because they don't wanna sound like 1000 other generic bands. I would do the same.
New Vanna is way better imo. This sounds like it was amazing for its tome period. Still sounds good don't get me wrong but the new Vanna sounds way more unique and mature.
+Alex A - Nah their new clean vocalist sucks compared to Evan and he had better riffs. Vanna was basically one of the first core type of bands so they were never generic.
This sounds generic to you cause when this came out there's a good chance you were probably young and weren't into this and by the time you were all bands were copying this sound
+Anthony Cardenas- Completely agree! It's like Vanna sounded nothing like Asking Alexandria,Attack Attack, Mice and Men or any of that and this came out before any of then became relevant. New Vanna to me sounds like they are trying to do what ETID has been doing. I read Evan left because he was singing less but it would have been interesting to hear Vanna with more Evan Cleans and less screaming.
recently moving to the new house, just found the physical CD of their first EP that I purchased from band’s myspace back in the day! I was so hyped when this band first came out! I played this song on one of the collage parties with my ipod and made a hardcore/metal friend lol
Man I remember the first time I heard this song. Loaded it up on UA-cam, went to school, came home and that fucker was finally loaded to where I could watch it. Ahh the good ole days....
ikr!
yeah, I remember they had a teaser (back in the day called trailor) with few seconds of the music video dropped first, I was mind blown by the breakdown part, so so hyped
This song is 14 years old... and it still makes me feel like a 15 year old every time i hear it
Big love. I’m 31 and some of my friends I jammed to with this didn’t make it as well. I’m glad that you stayed friends with them though. My friends abandoned me when my Mom died.
31 myself too, and I feel like that about so many songs, to the point where they're hard to visit sometimes.
same bro life is crazy

I think this is one of the greatest songs ever written

the new stuff is pretty good too
This is on a new hope...

The search party never came is my fav album of theirs, but yea, this album was Fucking amazing.
Their last show , playing this song , you felt the whole spirit of Vanna come alive.
Me and everybody around me sang every word like it was orchestrated. Thank you for the years you’ve given
everybody, you’ll truly be missed. 🥀🌹
That show was so amazing and emotional and Knocked Loose and Lions Lions killed it.
Yeah that was an amazing show
2019 and still jamming this🖤

2022 still a solid album I listen to on long drives
2023
This song never gets old to me
"I'll Leave my heart there by your bedside"
2 nights ago I had a wild lucid dream. I was in a small living room with about 20 other people and Vanna came out. Played this song. The crowd sing, the feeling, the emotion.
I woke up smiling with wet eyes.
It was spiritual for me.
This song (And whole album tbh) got me through some tough shit.
I wrote a note on my phone about that dream so I never forget it.
Fuck I wish these guys were still around and sounded like this.
Damn, classic shit. Being a teen with this shit was a different world.
Ive honestly listened to this song about 30 times today. The Chorus is one of the best things Ive ever heard. EVER
loved these guys since " the search party never came " one of my top favs.
This felt so mature for the genre, definitely the epitome of a complete album through and through. Thanks Vanna.
The fact that I get to hear this live again next Saturday feels like a fever dream but here we are.
RIP Vanna, 2004 - 2017, you will be missed and regarded as one of the greatest post hardcore bands of our generation 💔💔💔
It's 2016 and this song is still badass
Let's leave this place behind when we finally decide
what it's gonna take to make you feel alive (feel alive).
What's it gonna take to open up your eyes?
to open up your eyes?
It's time to get out of this town
this torture (this torture).
It still holds you down.
Be blessed and move forward silent and sound.
These words don't always come out right,
but I feel that we're wasting time.
Letting go of each other we're still holding tight.
All these words don't always come out right,
but I feel that we're wasting time.
Are we wasting our time?
Are you still holding tight?
It was only fair to look to the sky,
to breathe in the air,
to wait in the shadows.
These words don't always come out right,
but I feel that we're wasting time.
Letting go of each other we're still holding tight.
All these words don't always come out right,
but I feel that we're wasting time.
Are we wasting our time?
Are you still holding tight?
I'll leave my heart there by your bedside
if you swear that your eyes won't stray.
To be honest, open and hoping.
To find the words to say.
I'll leave my heart there by your bedside
if you swear that your eyes won't stray.
In honesty, honestly I only let go for the sake of you.
What a great song!!
almost in tears hearing this again for the first time in a while. song still slaps in 2019, NO doubt \m/ thank you, gentlemen for your contribution. you're heroes
All these words, don't always come out right
But I feel that we're wasting time

Such beautiful words written and still echoing in my head this day, 14 years later. Thank you Vanna. Safe to say, we're still holding tight.

boston is the home to the best bands. undeniable
I love Vanna... and I've seen people call them "generic" no, they actually have great lyrics, and they are a great band. I pre ordered their new album and i know it will be worth it, and if you like good music you should too. Vanna forever
ESSA A MUSICA É A MELHOR
FODA!!!!!!!!!
Every time i listen to 'Wild Child' by Wind In Sails / Evan, it always makes me come back to this song.. and then the entire album, and then A New Hope, then And They Came Baring Bones

This is easily one of their best songs.
Been hearing this song almost every day for 10 years, thank you @Vanna for being part of my life.

"I'll leave my heart there by your bedside, if you swear that your eyes won't stray. and honestly, honestly, I only let go for the sake of you." 3
this is probably the best band i've seen all day
I can't believe this shit has 1.3 million views now. Remember when it had like 20-50 thousand or something. So glad they are finally getting there, they deserve it. Their music is awesome!
this is the only video of vanna that has a million views, WHY?
Sparity it’s their best lineup
Their best song?
I met Davey today he came to speak at my school best day of my life
He’s not in the band at that time
best vanna´s songs:
1.safe to say
2.scarlet shroud
3.the search party never came
4.like changing seasons
5.year of the rat
6.please stay
7.red hands, blue river
Dead language isn't on this list!? Whattttt????
what about ten arms?
all with evan!!
hmm did you registrate song called year of the rat?
but ok i accepted your thought
Haven't heard this song in years! I used to play it every morning to give me some kind of energy to get up for school
RIP Vanna
Best post-hardcore song ever made.
Everyone should go check out Vanna's ex lead singer's new project! It's called Wind in Sails! He's still amazing as hell. My favorite is Level Head. c:
Ex lead singer? Think you got it wrong love. Evan was guitarist and backing vocals.
Actually I was the lead CLEAN vocalist. I sang just as much as any of our screamers shouted. Backing vocals and doing all the clean singing are entirely different
Evan Pharmakis My dude dropping knowledge bombs haha.
Evan Pharmakis what happened to vanna?
Evan wrote all the music and got screwed but I don't even like that kind of music but getting more use to it and hear his new stuff all the time in my house because he's my wife's cousin but he is truly the nicest dude.
I like both versions of Vanna
Dang! Look at them. This is so throwback. Still their best work, although everything they have ever put out has been completely amazing. I love this band so much.
Either I could have seen these guys back in the day. Still love this album.
2019 can never...
this was the shit when it came out and still is
How many vocalists has Vanna gone through?
***** a lot lol I'd say about 3-4.
***** They're currently on their 3rd lead vocalist and 2nd clean vocalist
***** And they're on their 3rd drummer too! haha
The 2 "originals" are Nick Adams (Rhythm Guitars) and Shawn Marquis (Bass)
PhantomX8593 they have only had 1 clean vocalist
ohmygosh. the guitarist's voice is perfection..
I opened for them a few times in Houston still love it man.
2023 baby
Evan Pharmakis !!!!
oh...these words don't always come out right...
This takes me back to 2009. Such a good year and great music. Miss this band so much. Definitely got me through tough times, saw them at the knitting factory in Hollywood and honestly I'll always cherish that memory.
How have i never heard of these guys before??? SOOO.... good!
2009... xD
AGREED :c
Valentine Irken me too
yeah 2009 was the best year, miss that too :/
Matyáš Hlaváček pokec xD
Best Vanna music Video - Trashmouth
old vanna or no vanna
Dale Gribble do you vanna ask ?
thank you old Vanna for making A New Hope. One of my favorite albums. You were one of my favorite bands, but now they just keep going downhill
This song would definitely deserved more than 1.9 million visitors . . .
Best !!
this vanna was what made them lol
Evan, baby, come back. 😞
2019 anyone ?
oh ill be here every year for the rest of my life
my bands playing with these guys again in the summer. pretty excited...
the bassist really does have it going on! the rhythm of the whole band really has it down im digging the band as a whole!
Fuck. Why almost every single post-hardcore band does have perfect songs in the past ? They now shit on the songs compared to past.
trendy fucks come in fuck it up. fangirls gloat over the talentless but cutest
lol Vanna is still fucking awesome bro look up a song called "The weekly slap in the face" people just hate because they're doing something different because they don't wanna sound like 1000 other generic bands. I would do the same.
Vanna' new album rocks
Burak ULU I agree man. It's always old songs that are great. New vanna isn't as good. I like deeper screaming.
New Vanna is way better imo. This sounds like it was amazing for its tome period. Still sounds good don't get me wrong but the new Vanna sounds way more unique and mature.
Alex A I agree, this sounds way more "generic core band-y" than their newer stuff, I especially like the screams on the newer albums more
+Alex A - Nah their new clean vocalist sucks compared to Evan and he had better riffs.
Vanna knew how to use melodic riffs to their advantage to give a more poetic post hardcore feeling. It's perfect! New Vanna is great too. RIP Vanna...
They're so different compared to Vanna now.
The era where epitaph record was all about band
song hits home and probably always will
Its STRONGLY sucks that this band now sucks. This album was amazing and then as always. Members leave. Why coupdnt they keep this sound.
2018 anyone?
i wish this type of music was still big, i miss shows every weekend
2109 jan, me and the woman
Still so much better then Vanna now. Don't get me wrong there good but i can not support there newer stuff just not the same.
recently moving to the new house, just found the physical CD of their first EP that I purchased from band’s myspace back in the day! I was so hyped when this band first came out! I played this song on one of the collage parties with my ipod and made a hardcore/metal friend lol
i heard this song a couple days ago and now i'm addicted. his voice at the chorus is just, absolutely beautiful
