One of my neighbors, a younger gal, is on food stamps and she dropped her Albertsons receipt one day. I was horrified at what she bought as "food" with food stamps. There was not ONE real food! Everything was sugar filled junk food that was highly processed! I don't know how she's even alive, seriously, but her awful diet does not help her mental disease. I think food stamps need to be limited to REAL food.
I worked at a grocery store for twenty five years. They can buy all the junk food they want but no toilet paper. Even fresh shrimp for unlimited amount of cost. I have begged our government to change what’s going on. Nobody cared 1
👍 Great interview, great information & guest. Also great podcast as usual Rip! You along with Dr. John McDougall do a fantastic job in your podcasts (along with Chef AJ) can’t forget her, of informing & educating people! ❤ 🤗
Rip, this was an absolute fabulous conversation! It was so full of information and talking points I can use when discussing eating a wfpb diet. Thank you!
I'm loving the interview. I'm just wanteding, as an Italian myself, WHAT Italians is he referring to? Because my grandma and mother, both avid cooks who almost never went to restaurants (takeaways is not even a thing unless is pizza/focaccia), had their pantry loaded with fruit juices, packed snacks, cured meats and cheeses, alcoholic beverages and all sorts of ultraprocessed items. All of which reflected in their poor health and the health of the rest of my family. And my family was not an outlier in Italy, that's pretty common standard. I'm sad to think that, by American standards that could be considered "healthy" 💔
Thanks Ripper!! You're one of my biggest inspirations and online mentors. I'm starting my own journey after ten months going totally vegan. We try some products once in a while but stay clear 95% of the time. Had some Plant Strong soups too. Tried McDougalls as well. They were both here at Sprouts in southern New Mexico. 😉🤙🏽🌺
This is a great interview. Rip, you really do your homework & make the most of your time with your guests. Matthew Rees has a wealth of information about eating healthy & presents it in an easy to understand way. Congratulations to both of you.
57:00 That problem could be solved by tomorrow, if it were mandated to have completed the e-cornell course of plant based nutrition before starting medical school at any college or university.
The ONE thing that should have been mandated during C**** is that people actually took care of their health via diet and exercise along with taking vitamin D and zinc. But, there's no money to be made that way.
Nobody puts a gun to your head to eat poorly. It is a personal choice. Hopefully, this choice is made after thorough reading. The US food supply corrupts our eating instincts.
Appreciate everything shared here. This is one of my favorite vegan podcasts. Need encouragement to eat as healthy as possible. Many thanks to both of your great work.
Ha that we’re even mentioning Greta is hilarious to me… i hate that politics are always a part of these but I suppose it’s our world now as the government, big Parma, Big Ag etc are all one body now… regardless, I do think this gentleman has lots of good things to say. Thank you for the interview…
1:08:02 Rising dairy consumption is probably related to cheese: for it takes 10 lbs of milk to produce 1 lbs of cheese. They now put cheese IN the crust of pizza ... Dûh?!?
What a great resource of articles. Thank you Rip and Matthew!
absolutely wonderful discussion.
Good podcast. Enjoyed his story; as always you have interesting people & stories on your videos.
Keeping it plantstrong! 😊 ❤ 🥬🥔🌽🥕🍅🥦🥒🧅🧄🧄🧄

Thank you for this added perspective of what the present situation is, not just the legacy
Thank you for sharing this important information. Simply amazing how Americans are being fooled and taken advantage of by these food companies.
Thanks Ripper!!

And exercise and saunas and going outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine. We were forbidden to visit the beach.
And I remember that State and National Parks closed when people in urban areas were trying to get out in the open spaces.

Like Dr. J.M. always says: IT’S THE FOOD!!! 😊 ❤
What a eye opening conversation and I thank you both for what you do to help educate us all...here’s to being PLANT STRONG🤙💚🤙

Excellent job Rip. Great interview!
Powdered milk in those pkgs of sauces, gravies, coffee creamers, hot cocoa packets, cake icing, cookies... so many products.
What's the name of the plant-baaed physician in McLean, Va? And is she accepting new patients?

Amazing! I really love and appreciate all the information out there 🌱Alot of it is really scary 😨
Ling fish is very similar to Cod. To look at they're a bit longer and leaner.
Rip, yet another important conversation! Thanks to both of you for this vital information, I have shared this with several friends. 🙏
I’m pretty sure I watched a video here on UA-cam a year or so ago about that tribe in Bolivia.
Chickens today contain more fat and less protein than they did 40 years ago.
vs.-versus, not verse.
I feel like the intro music is the same as my cellphone ringer

A conversation about why so many American's are in such poor healthy despite the insane per capita cost on health care MUST include politics.
48:38 Force of Habit.... But we all know that he means KING Charles, and the core of the remark was VEGAN CHEF, so don't make a fuzz.

I’ve noticed some breads are also being made with chunks of cow cheese.
@@natalieamore8195 yeah, who needs nuts and raisins, right?
