I discovered this series and am in hog heaven. I played dozens of weird short scale basses found at pawn shops and yard sales and Kent's were definitely prevalent. My #1 bass is my Eko Barracuda, a Gibson EB2 ES style hollowbody so I have lot's of time for off the beaten path instruments. Great series, excellent playing too! Finally someone demo's a bass and plays BASSLINES, actual things the bass is going to be used for 90% of the time. If I die without hearing another goof do a slap funk solo exercise as a sound example I'll be a happy man. Subscribed.
Being a huge Snakefinger fan I have always wanted the guitar version of this instrument. They have so much vintage mojo. I didn't know there was a bass version. They seem almost over engineered (if that's a thing). I'm always stoked to see your reviews of cool vintage instruments and they are always instruments that would interest me if I saw them in a store. I dont have a " boutique" bass yet but I will be purchasing a Serek soon. Hopefully the line isn't ridiculously long by the time I have the funds. Keep up the excellent work Jake! PS- What is that auto filter?
Wow, clean bass. That thing really woke up with the envelope filter. Cool find!
Nice playing & nice tone!!!
300$ yesterday, 3000 tomorrow.

Just bought one of these at auction. It needs some work but this inspires me to get at it. Thanks for the info.
Good luck...looks like a Kawai build...their quality control was really all over the place, some are gems while others are firewood
What kind of envelope filter did you use? Sounds really cool!
Yes, this ! ☝️
That looks good and sounds quite nice!
I have rose wood thumb rests on all my basses . I love the feel of them and they look super cool . Better than the black plastic crap

Did you mention the scale? I might have missed it.
