I´m completely obssesed with this bass. My friend Alain Johannes used a black one when he played in Queens Of Stone Age ( Check some vids from 2005) and the frontman of that band got one too. Sounds killer, how difficult is to get one and the cost???
desertblitzkrieg Just so you know, Alain's isn't an SA-70, it's a custom based on an Gibson EB-2/Epiphone Rivoli with a BEX bass neck. They used an Rivoli a lot on that album, so they needed a reliable instrument to replicate that.
Carlo Von Sexron Thanks!!! I was 3 times with Al and I´m in contact with him often , but I always assumed that was a Yamaha , so never asked to him about , hahahaha. Good info . Cheers man !!
desertblitzkrieg It is a Yamaha. I'm pretty sure Troy ordered it, knowing he had an ongoing relationship with them at the time. They'd do custom orders for their artist.
I have the Sa-75 in natural clear finish, it is a later version of this Sa-70. What can I say but if you find one get it. Mine is strung with TI jazz flats.
Hello! can i ask you something about the bass? I ve just got one from 68. It is not in that good condition like yours. But my doubt is about the bridge. Is attached to the the body or is kind of floating like a double bass bridge? Thank you!
God I bloody love the tone this thing throws out. I’ve been leching over this video for about four years now.
Really fantastic tone, never seen one of these before
Wow...sounds amazing...so much personality !!!
I've got one. It'll never be my main bass, but I really like the distinctive "woody" tone for some stuff..
Great unique tone Bass guitar
Theese basses sound way too good! One day I'm gonna own one!
