The director said that he had cast Halle because she was the best person to play the role of Ariel. But I'm glad that Jodi Benson (the original voice actress for the animated Ariel) called Halle brilliant and said that her performance in The Little Mermaid remake was incredible. It's actually a good movie. And as a Christian-conservative, I didn't see anything woke in the movie.

As soon as we watched the new 'little mermaid', we cancelled our Disney holidays in Florida and Paris. Then we heard about them not calling our children boys and girls anymore we knew we had made the right decision. Disney has decided to preach to us on how to bring up our kids, guess what? Disney sabotaged themselves by hiring woke writers who graduated from woke colleges and who tick all the right boxes. These hacks think that they can rewrite classic masterpieces like Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, and every Disney classic animation they haven't remade yet. Food prices at Disney follow Airport rules. Captive audience, no other choice. So Corporate says, why not shaft our customers, travelers and fans?
The vendors probably pay a HUGE base rent, plus a percentage, so the food prices have to match in order to make a profit. Why do you automatically think that prices are set arbitrarily, and not reflected from the cost that the food vendors face ?
To give you some perspective on my background on this subject, my family has a mobile food concession business that would travel to various fairs, and events. There are many costs that you haven't considered that would affect the price of the food items being sold. Disney wouldn't run their food operators, but would contract with individual food vendors, which may be large corporate entities, or smaller ones.
Airport also forcing customers to watch CNN. This is the reason why I don't fly.

Kat's on point with the corndog thing. Disney's food and drink prices would make a movie theater concession manager blush. You can buy a case of bottled water at any grocery store for about $6. Go into a Disney park and they're $5 each.
Nobody mentioned flavor but I tried to eat one in Disneyland about 5 years ago. Worst corn dog I have ever had. Was $9.50. My daughter ripped all the breading off and finished the hot dog part. Their food is worse than their content. Not sure how that's even possible.

The whole movie theater ticket prices is a solid argument why tanking. I had my girls for my week vacation. I wanted to take them to see a movie. It was 75 dollars for 5 people. That price did not include food or drinks. That was a crazy outrageous price. We decided on an escape room (which was still around 75 dollars) because it was more interactive.
The job is not done until they cease to exist.

I use to dream of going to Disney land and seeing disney movies, but now with this wokeism would I see unsavory woke stuff. Especially if parents are bringing their children - disney use to be for the family but if its going to have woke type acts and attractions - then how can a family with kids go there. It's like a comedy show sketch without boundaries. It starts out funny to goof on something traditional which millions fondly recall through childhood experiences. Then the jokes get meaner and meaner and finally people tune out, not wanting anything to do with this alternate reality. its a recession, no one is going to the theatre, not when you can just wait 6 weeks for it to come out on Amazon or Blu ray and the entire family can watch it for the same price of one ticket.... eat for free... and not have to deal with the other people screaming and yelling the entire movie
if they want to make money again, they need to slow down on the production, give better ( OR CHEAPER ) options at the theatre for snacks, and push back the streaming and dvd/blu ray releases...

You use to be able to trust Disney to make a safe movie for kids. Now that they are grooming kids calling it inclusion, they will never see a dime of my money.
This makes me sad. 😢 I went to WDW as a child in the early seventies and it was pretty much beloved by all, a true American icon. I could never have dreamed it would turn into what it has….it’s been hijacked by extremists. I just want it to go back to the wholesomeness it was. I feel like a part of my childhood has been ripped from me and stomped on!

Not stuck, just some things were better. Not everything was , obviously. I Wouldn’t want to go back to the times of the Holocaust !
