  • NEW from Xero Shoes -- xeroshoes.com/spring21sale/
    Check out the new Aqua X Sport, a water/road/trail shoe that's super light and comfy; the DayLite Hiker Fusion, a hiking boot for when a big technical boot is too much; the Xcursion Fusion, a lightweight fully-waterproof boot that IS ready for those technical adventures; the Cassie, a "Mary Jane" style shoe in crazily comfy eco-friendly hemp canvas.
    Don't know about Xero Shoes? Then let me ask you this:
    Do your feet feel better at the end of the day than they did at the beginning?
    If not, it's because your shoes aren't letting your feet do what's NATURAL.
    Your feet are made to bend, flex, move and FEEL the world. One-quarter of the bones and joints in your ENTIRE body are in your feet and ankles; you have more nerve endings in your soles than anywhere but your finger tips and lips.
    Comfort and performance come from using your feet naturally.
    That's what Xero Shoes let you do.
    - Natural Fit -- wide toe boxes let your toes spread and relax. A non-elevated (zero-drop) heel for proper posture.
    - Natural Motion -- super flexible to let your feet bend and move naturally. Low-to-the-ground for balance and agility.
    - Natural Feel -- the patented FeelTrue® soles give you just-right protection while still giving the ground feedback your brain needs for efficient, natural movement.
    Plus they're affordable and so durable that they have a 5,000 mile sole warranty.

    My 8 year old’s just starting track practice, so of course I ordered her a new pair of Prios. We’re heading to practice and I’m about to tell her about the shoes and she says “Xero Shoes?!?” and her face lights up. She then proceeded to tell me everything she knows about them, how they roll up like a burrito, and bend and twist. She basically sold me a pair of shoes I already just bought by telling me the same thing I tell everyone else everyday, it was astounding. Then she tells me about Steve and all about his long curly black and grey hair, and dad’s broken hip and how he died 😥. I’m like hold up how do you know all this stuff I haven’t taught you yet? You’re 8. Instead of cartoons she’s been watching Xero UA-cam videos on the iPad based on the algorithm since it’s all devices connected to my phone. “I watched the whole thing.” I don’t know what’s better, her remembering all the details, or the fact she’s been binge watching Xero vids...just like me.

      @@xeroshoes you changed my movement, thus my life. Dude I was hit in the mid back with the bucket end of a backhoe accidentally digging water lines 20 years ago, and years before that I was struck by a falling tree in my back and lived to tell the tale. My stepdad was driving the backhoe, the one cutting down the tree, but that’s another story...like you I’ve had serious back issues. Running is the only thing over the years that’s kept my back in check, but bad form and bad shoes kept me in the “couch cycle”. Xero shoes and the Pose Method/Chi Running/ Keith Bateman’s principles of alignment and balance, and plant based fueling allow me to run 6/7 days a week like I need to.
      But the story gets better, last night I’m looking under the bed for something and there’s a little Xero box there. I asked my wife “ whoa, how’d they come already, I just ordered them yesterday?!?” She says our daughter wouldn’t leave her alone about them since she saw the video, so she beat me to the punch and and had already ordered her a pair. Im determined to get more minorities into Xeros, starting w family feet first!

    Hey there!
    1. what i love about you, is that you're very responsive. i know once you replied to my facebook question. most companies or corporates don't interact on this level.
    2. why oh WHY are modern shoes SO fluorescent - the colour of a shoe is VERY personal and VERY subjective. I hate bright coloured shoes. I guess i'm more of an introvert or like things to be subtle. I think plain black and plain white should be the norm and colourful styles should be the exception.
    I just wish every style of shoe was available in black.
    I like to wear these shoes as an ALL DAY/PURPOSE shoe, so that would to job interviews, corporate, office, getting let into nightclubs with high standard dress codes.
    That won't happen with bright shoes, they me look like a f*cking clown in those (professional) environments.
    I like to own a black shoe, this makes it so i don't have to buy multiple pairs for serious/corporate and casual/fun/running/gym (where coloured shoes are tolerated)
    3. I want insane grip on the bottom, sadly in the modern world, i'm walking on concrete and tiles, when it rains, those surfaces get super slippery. I am wearing the Xero HFS and I still think the grip could be improved. Do you trial different grip designs on wet tiles?

    • @xeroshoes

      We try to have a black option with every style we make.
      There's no sole that can violate the laws of physics, of course ;-) We are working on some work shoes with a grippier, not-slip tread (and it'll come in all black!). Should be out later this year

    • @xeroshoes
      @xeroshoes  3 роки тому

      Our development team has been looking into the best solution for this.
      We don't have a filter for size, because sizing is not always the same for every shoe, plus sizing is highly personal. Put the two together and if someone filtered for an 8, they may not see the 8.5 that's actually the correct fit for them.

    LACES.
    The other thing is, that the plastic lace sheath on my HFS shedded itself at 1.5 months in. And i'm super careful with my shoes. I see on my right shoe the plastic sheaths are almost fully deteriorated... this needs to be addressed. Also, both laces could do to be a few cms longer........ at the length they are makes it really hard to tie because there's SO LITTLE lace to work with.

    Do you have any medical degree or medical engineering degree? Any statistic numbers or reputable sources for any of your claims?
    Can you provide use with these sources?
    If you know so much about foot health, why still have a Diamond shaped shoe (toes pointed) rather than a triangle shaped shoe(wide toes, like a new born)?

    • @xeroshoes
      @xeroshoes  3 роки тому

      Not sure what you mean... our shoes are not "diamond shaped" like modern athletic footwear. See this video as an example of the difference:
      ua-cam.com/video/90ipQ4vn-u0/v-deo.html
      We don't shape our shoes like newborn baby feet because that's not the natural shape of an adult foot (in the same way that our hands, heads, and limb proportions change as we grow from babies to teens to adults).
      We're compiling a list of all the science that supports my claims, which is somewhat challenging because there's so much of it and we want to present it in a more useful way than a simple bibliography.
      For a start, though, go to www.pubmed.com and search for Harvard's Dr. Irene Davis -- that'll give you a big reading list to peruse, and then follow the other researchers whose names you see (e.g. Dr. Sarah Ridge, Dr. Isabel Sacco, and MANY others) for a deeper dive.
      And while anecdotes do not equal scientific data, a preponderance of consistent anecdotal information demands investigation. So check out the 35,000+ reviews, many of which tell stories that echo my claims, at xeroshoes.com/reviews/.
      Onward...I'm sure you know that having or not having a particular degree does not always correlate with knowledge, let alone with developing life-changing products. Happily, our design and development team, consists of men and women with extensive experience.
      Personally, while I don't have a medical or engineering degree (I was a pre-med at Duke and decided against a medical career after completing the course-load), one thing I'm most proud of is that both medical researchers and practitioners in this field and life-long footwear engineers and designers treat me like a peer and an expert. That many of my novel and patented design ideas have now been stolen by billion dollar companies implies some validity to what I do. An example from another domain and time in my life may be similarly relevant: I can barely write a single line of computer code, but I designed and architected an industry-changing piece of software that every competitor over the last 29 years has merely tried (unsuccessfully) to copy.
      In short, don't let my degrees or lack thereof get in the way of examining the actual information and ideas that I'm sharing.
      And, more, the comfort and performance of our products (see those reviews I mentioned and then have your own experience) speaks more than anything I could say.

      Actually, the first part of the video is discussing how what we think of as "comfortable" is not necessarily good for us (according to all the research).
      Then, Xero Shoes are not "just another shoe" for the reasons I describe in the video and at xeroshoes.com
      - Natural Fit -- wide toe boxes let your toes spread and relax. A non-elevated (zero-drop) heel for proper posture.
      - Natural Motion -- super flexible to let your feet bend and move naturally. Low-to-the-ground for balance and agility.

      Ofc Xero Shoes are just another regular normal shoe like Freets are too, but they’re definitely NOT the horrible shoes that are so popular and engraved into everyone’s minds that absolutely destroy all of the biomechanics and foot strength/dexterity with the thick, uneven, and padded soles along a narrow toe box.
      Oh yeah and they’re not barefoot because it’s impossible to be barefoot when you’re wearing something on your feet, so calling them barefoot shoes is a misleading oxymoron, just like how you can’t call basic thin gloves barehanded gloves.

    Made in China... No, thank you.

    • @xeroshoes
      @xeroshoes  3 роки тому

      We would love to manufacture domestically, however it is LITERALLY impossible for us to do so (in the same way that it's not possible to get a domestically made version of the devices we're using for this conversation).
      And manufacturing in other countries still rely on China for supplies and materials.
      Hopefully, that'll change in the future and we'll be able to take advantage of that.

    • @MR-yp7mu
      @MR-yp7mu 3 роки тому

      @@xeroshoes I see that you are using this copy and paste reply every time when somebody mentions China. LITERALLY impossible you say....Merrell shoes are manufactured in Vietnam, Keen shoes are manufactured in Thailand, Timberland shoes are manufactured in Vietnam and SOM shoes www.somfootwear.com are manufactured in USA, in Colorado, from raw material to finished product. LITERALLY impossible INDEED...

    • @xeroshoes
      @xeroshoes  3 роки тому

      I copy and paste the same answer (with some changes) because the same answer is still true.
      Merrell, Timberland, and Keen source much of their material from China and have their own factories since they are BILLION+ dollar companies.
      For companies our size, there is basically no availability in the factories in other countries the labor force isn't highly skilled (one of our competitors moved to Vietnam and it nearly destroyed them due to quality problems). Plus, again, those other countries don't have the supply chain in place, so materials are still coming from China.
      Regarding SOM, the point I made is not that it's impossible to make ANY shoes in America. It's that we can't make the type WE make in America and at the volume we require. SOM is a fraction of our size and uses materials that don't provide the durability and performance characteristics that we demand.
      I assure you that if it were possible for us to manufacture somewhere else we would. Our manufacturing partners have been looking all over the world for options and simply haven't found any which are viable.
      But the other point I make still stands: Many of the people who claim (without expert knowledge) that we can manufacture outside of China don't complain to the companies that make the dozens if not hundreds of products that they use regularly which are still made in China or with parts from China.
      I hope this non-cut-and-pasted answer is helpful.

    • @MR-yp7mu
      @MR-yp7mu 3 роки тому

      @@xeroshoes Ok, so some companies can manufacture outside China because they are bigger than you. Other companies can manufacture outside of China because they are smaller than you. Interesting...
      How about www.pfflyers.com/made-in-usa/ - they manufacture in the USA which is supposed to be impossible.
      The facts are against you regardless of PR talk. Many companies manufacture domestically. There are also companies that entirely or partially moved out of the People's Republic of China. They make an effort. You don't.

    • @xeroshoes
      @xeroshoes  3 роки тому +1

      Let me try again. I never said it's impossible for ALL companies to make ALL shoes in the US (or even outside of China).
      I *am* saying that the half-dozen footwear manufacturing experts on our team, and the industry analysts that with whom we consult have not found any viable options for the products we make -- given the quality, performance and durability requirements we have, and given our current size.
      If you have options that our experts have somehow overlooked, I'm all ears. But comparing us to any other company, or our products to those that other companies make, is not germane in this conversation.
