They look like great versatile water shoes. I am using the NRS Boundary socks, which have a seal on top for cold water adventures. It seems like this would be a good combo.
Best shoes I’ve ever had for friction in water even on algae covered rocks are felt sole shoes, which I got on Amazon. Not good for trails, but super good in the water or on wet rocks.
I had them. The first pair I got 5 years ago was ok. The pair I now had since 6 months was bad quality. The seems on the inside cut my feet in Costa Rica. A real pain to wear. The Xero shoes are heaven for my feet in comparison ;-)

I think that should work. I could also use some longer neoprene socks.

Have you tried Vibram Five fingers? They fit me pretty well, and the quality is satisfactory, for the same use.

I dont see the dark blue anymore - just the light blue
