Why not change the law to bring the death penalty back for child murderers?

I’m opposed to the death penalty, but in this case I’d take the day off.

The only people I care about are the parents, siblings and grandparents of these murdered babies and there are many of them. Some of the ones who survived are maimed for life. In fact there are disproportionately too many disabled children who were in that hospital unit during the same time as Letby. She tried multiple times to kill the same babies of certain parents she targeted. Now those parents cant read out their statements to her. This is such a horrible case

The head of the NHS trust she worked in should be in the dock listening to victim statements.

Why didn't they have a video link from her cell and have a person read the charges to her instead and everyone will witness her listening to the impact statement on a live video link.
    Bring it to her instead.

The individual and many like her are the reason why capital punishment should still be an option available to the courts. At the minute Letby and others like her who commit the most heinous crimes will cost the taxpayers millions of pounds per year to look after when incarcerated.

Why? It won't prevent any of it. Death Row in the US demonstrates that.
All it does is satisfy your urge for retribution. Nothing more.
      And, of course, Andrew Malkinson....

Some of the staff and management should also be held to account. They facilitated this nurse to continue taking the lives of these poor babies. But i suppose the usual statement will be given. "We will learn by these mistakes."

Too many people trying to go back to the days of taking the family along to public hangings - complete with funfair, picnic etc.
    It's obscene.
She's been found guilty. She's going to prison. Stop with the emotion and moralizing. She's in prison to stop her doing it again. Move on.
