When you actually analyse this, two things come to mind, we spend ages working the scene and other aspects, then expect it to be instant, were the same with computers, yet you and i certainly lived through the days of no compuers, no internet, modems and early WiFi, i often relay to people how my dad would never believe me if i could tell him what we can do! Telephone boxes! Dad they are little free libraries now!

Another very useful review, thank you. Like you, I recently purchased an OM1 as the camera is a bargain with the price reductions following the release of the mk ii. As a long term Olympus user and EM5, Em1 Mkii owner I can appreciate the improvements in the new model. Brilliant viewfinder, sensor and great handling camera with the ability to map function buttons and setup user custom modes. An absolute steal given the camera can be purchased for under £1200

I have the OM-1 mark II and the mentioned dislikes are solved, furthermore the updates for the OM-1 mark I excepted this fall will correct several problems you mentioned.
Not all new functions off the OM-1 mark II can be updated in the OM-1 mark I due to the smaler buffer in the mk I.
I work with both versions and can say that either mk I or mk II are great cameras.

There are more and more battery models now becoming available with built in USB charging. I recently bought one made by SmallRig for my Sony A7III

These are not criticisms, so i hope anyone reading, realise as i hope you do, i recognise your wealth of skills and what started as a review of the camera, has developed into some realy intersting aspects that im sure people would love to know more about, the set ups and differences, i was particularly impressed with the differences with the two videos outside and the blur on the final set up! Share your knowledge, perhaps shorter sessions, bitesized for impact, you can record all at once and split up into parts, something that i find particularly attractive for dipping into and understanding, but also for usage, like a Ted talk, to long and its to much, short and attention is held and the absorbing of the info is greater!

Hi Yet another review thats great, some things a little picky, that impatience most humans suffer from, as you talk about seconds for an incredible feature.

There’ll only be one OM1. A classic camera

I have the Em1 mk 3 and today receiving the fuji XT5, i digress. I've watched your channel on and off for years now, obviously your a very tech savy person, so suggestion, you have two, often three cameras set up for these sessions and i noticed today that a penny dropped, you were trying to show the back of the screen with a flashing cursor. Why not dedicate a camera to that, so when wanting to show what happens when a part of menu is actuated, or some other miniscule detail, you can just position the camera, thats already in CAFand zoomed in to a zone, even set a fixed or sturdy mini tripod with an arka swiss on so you can just slot camera in and you can work, or even go one step further as i have, recently, set mini tablet up so you can even have the settings showing and operatable from!
Eyesight, 2 hands-free, split screen, you get my drift!

Well prhaps its one of those eureka days, zooming out we see a miriad, a cacophony of gear doing masses of stuff, why dont you do some videos on setting up these tpes of monitering, like phones, small tablets, especialy andriod for using with camera for video, or photograpy!

At the end of the day it was, is and will always be about the lenses. Panasonic abandoned Olympus and hopped in bed with Sigma and Leica, and M43 is doomed, certainly with professional photographers. The S mount will bring Panasonic into the professional arena, but really, it's still going to be a Nikon and Canon lake as far as pros are concerned. But we are also seeing Sony now being marginalised because Nikon and Canon now have the advanced video market sewn up with Nikon now owning Red. Serious videographers go that way and not with hybrid cameras any more.
Its best illustrated by Australia's most successful portrait and fashion photographer, moving from Hallesblad digital to a Leica S 24MP, and a Leica 75mm M lens. When he found that ad agencies now impose a 30mb file size limit he found that an easy decision.

According to you people m43 has been doomed for the last decade. Who knows what the future holds, but it hasn’t happened yet.
