I'm definitely interested and want to get one.....if you can make a couple small changes. 1. Love the broadband capabilities but why tell us the frequency on the display when all we want to know is the cone angle? 2. Included other pack options, I prefer the pro pack but it maybe time for new design as well. 3. Introduce battery options. 4. This isn't a show stopper, but would like to see a larger variance in the cone options, like 5 to 20 degrees in the future.
I still like the FL-18.....best Vexilar out there. I have a Marcum LX5i, I love it. It doesn't quite have the target separation as most upper level vexilars, but I can adjust my zoom to any part of the water column, and I like being able to switch back and forth between narrow and wide beam. This unit has some neat bells and whistles....but is it really all that practical?
I can see where the narrow cone angle would shine on a steep break it would eliminate alot of screen space taken up by a 19 degree angle. + with zoom narrow it down further.
I have just purchased a FLX-30 BB and my battery display doesn’t appear I don’t see the battery display. All. The FLX-30 BB all offer the battery display.
Curious if the newer flx28 are coming with lithium Ion batteries like the new flx30. The website has no indication that it’s now sold with lithium Ion instead of lead acid. Would it be the same original cost? I’m debating because there’s a used one for sale and I’d rather run the lithium ion because it’s lighter.
Is this a joke? Vexilar takes away all multiple cone angle transducers. Tells customers the POS “pro view” is a cone that adjust. Which it doesn’t do worth a crap. Then brings out a re-skinned FLX28 with a few tweaks to it bringing back multiple transducer cones. For $800 to get multiple transducer cones when a dual or tri beam transducer worked great. Go fly a kite. This is such a shaft job on customers. Take away options products we had or were offered...then bring them back after two years charge an outrageous amount like it is some innovative product. One more reason why vexilar is becoming a joke...
@@dylanW50 Um you asked about a transducer and I said that you can put a pro view on your unit, but that you’d be happier with a 12* transducer. Nobody commented on your FLX20
Just ordered my FLX30 yesterday I'm pumped love vexilar products. Thanks for the video Tom your the man

thanks for the straightforward and honest overview. Was expecting sales gimmicks and pitchy overtones but that definitely wasnt the case
Overall good presentation but "on steriods" and "cornucopia" are definitely gimmicky terms.

Yes it is very practical if you have the money to spend you can be very precise with this flasher which is very important for ice fishing

Yes, all ultra packs should come with a lithium battery now. FLX-28 ultra pack is $709.99 mostly everywhere right now.
any improvements for fishing weeds? Can you change the frequency in a 6ft zoom in 30 feet of water?
If I use the F setting and set to 225 and then change the power setting to M do I keep the F setting at 225 or does it default to the lowest setting?
How does the lithium battery hold up out on the ice all day at zero? can that battery deal with the cold as well as lead acid?

Tom, can you put a pro ducer on an flx 20?
Yes
You can but you'll be happier with a 12*
