Jody...Just made my first purchase from your online store. I apologize for taking so long...but I just purchased my first TIG welder. I have benefited far more from your videos than my small purchase will benefit you. So, I just wanted to offer a sincere "thank you" in a public forum. I have been stick/MIG welding for 30 years...but you have taught me more since following you here than I could have ever learned on my own. Plus, so many of your "small projects" have helped my one-man shop produce so much more than I could have without the tips. Now, time for you to teach me to TIG! Thanks, again.
Just found your videos a couple of weeks ago and I'm new to TIG welding. I appreciate your teaching style. Your humility, apathy and energy make you a great teacher. Thank you for your smooth, non pretentious delivery. lots of videos on UA-cam from people who need to tone it down a bit. I'm just soaking it all in.....thanks a lot.
I'm looking into welding school and I really hope my instructors are half as instructional and inspirational as you are! I learn something new from every video! Thank you for all you do on here!
Keep promoting the store. You and your artistry talked me into learning TIG, so I went to...hmm... weldmonger!...for tungsten, TIG fingers, gas lens kit, Stronghands.... You’ve probably done more to educate and to advance welding technique than anyone in history. Glad I could help out a little in return.
Another great video Jody. I have been a machinist for 35 years but just started to weld about a year and a half ago. I am now certified in Structural AWS D1.1 unlimited thickness. Thanks for all the videos. I have learned so much more from you than the welding college taught me. Keep it up and I will keep supporting you through weldmonger.com.
Well I didn’t really need a TIG finger yet... Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Your videos as well as a couple other UA-camr‘s have been life savers through this learning to weld adventure and I really appreciate it! I just ordered myself a couple things from your store in appreciation. Win/Win!
I had an idea about your design... If you were to leave the hole in the handle (instead of plugging it) - you could fill the BB's or lead shot from the handle, and put a piece of dowel (or precision-machined rod) the length of that handle. Or if you put a hollow insert with a cap at the end toward the head of the hammer - you'd still have room for your center punch. Then you'd have no fill cap and the faces of the hammer head would be smooth. You are a phenomenal welder and a great teacher. I really enjoy your videos.
I really enjoy your videos, and the fact that your commercials are more like informercials the way you demo how to use the products. I’m eagerly awaiting delivery of some stuff I ordered from you. Can’t wait to try it out. Keep up the good work. Your videos are amazing!
Great video, and a great project, Jody I really enjoy your videos, and can firmly say I’ve become a better welder because of them! I was doing vertical Mig welding all day today, something I’ve always struggled with, but your videos have improved that, I could hear you all day, saying “keep a short stick out”, and “don’t get crazy with gun angle “ ..... I have got to get a Tig now...😉👍 Thanks
Just want to say thank you for all your great vids. I started as novice with a Hobart EZ and your videos years ago. Now I'm pro with a couple Millers. Keep up the great work.
Great video. Beautiful hammer. I would almost hate to use a hammer that looked that nice. It looked like art. I really like the way you always talk your way through the video and explain all the things you are doing. It keeps you from getting a load of questions and teaches us a lot about welding and fabricating. Thank you. Dan
Jody, would like to thank you for your video's, they are very inspiring to me. I pick up on many things during each video! i picked up a lincoln 210 w/ tig. just amazing to see how far welding has come in the last 30yrs. Keep up the good work. mk
Love it. You are making me so envious of a GTAW set up, I think the challenge of building one of these with my OA torch would be tremendous. Man, do I want to make one myself though.
Jody, Great video, some of that welding was really good to see, especially with the different settings, I must admit that I was amazed when you said you were 60yrs old, you sure don't look it, you obviously keep in good shape.
Hi Jody, I can definitely agree with you on seeing what your welding, i'm a decade older, and have bifocals and guess where that lens change sits, right in your viewing area, so I upgraded to the largest windows auto helmet I could find. It's better but sometimes you tend to do things by feel. Cheers Dennis.
Great educational video. Can wait for the next one every time . Always something to learn specially for new welders like myself getting good education from welders like you Jody.!
This is such a badass video. I love that hammer. I’m going to make one tomorrow. I love these videos. I’m going to buy a tig finger just to say thank you.
GREAT VIDEO! I’ve been following you for a long time and want to THANK YOU for taking the time to make these videos and the Podcast. Listened to every episode!
Awesome Thor deadblo , by the way I enjoyed the tig finger Pak , I'm using them for mig welding BTW ,it took 6 days to get them ,I understand there were some snow storms interfering with mail service
That Tig Finger is a great idea. I still remember gritting my teeth as the pain in my fingers mounted while qualifying to weld government contract parts at the foundry that employed me for 40 years. I may pass on your information to those who took my place.
Its nice to see you make a video where you make something. Good job on the hammer btw. Looks great!! You should add that to the shop. I'd buy one. Minus the bb's. Save on shipping weight! 😜 cheers Jody!!!
cringe factor 3....when you put the rusty centerpunch into that sweet shiny pearl of a hammer! granted the handle is just iron pipe, but appearance wise i wish you'd shined that punch up. better yet face the punch with bronze, if thats not a bad idea that is.... that said, I love your videos. you do a great job and throw out lots of helpful advice. always looking forward to seeing new installments. i'd credit you with my newfound interest in cup shapes, gas lenses, and dual-shield flux core welding.
Jesus that arc shot at 9:35 is just flat out amazing. I mean damn. These videos truly are the gold standard for welding videos. 🙇🏼♂️🙇🏼♂️🙇🏼♂️
"Don't be afraid to invest in yourself!" Now that's a great motivational quote. It's worked for me over the years.

I got my Tig Finger XL about a moth ago and I cannot imagine welding without it again. Thanks Jody.
You'll sure be thor if you hit your thumb with that thing.

I’d buy one. If you started selling these. A Thor fan and a learning mechanic. Your videos are awesome. Keep up the great work.
Excellent!! Much Better than you can buy at the store!
Beautiful welds & polish!
Take that Mr. Tig!
Bob Smith Jody and Bob are some of the best welding resources on UA-cam. I was never a fan of Mr. Tig. His personality didn’t seem genuine to me
Jody is no welder, he is the next level. well done!
Jody isn’t a welder?
That was AWESOME Jody!... very cool little project and a lot of good practice too.
Listen I was just watching Mr.tig video's... why do they call him that? This is the real Mr.Tig!!
Great video, and a great project, Jody

What a beautiful tool, very nice. Thanks for sharing the build.

Thanks again Jody. Your videos are outstanding as always. I always learn something from you.
That reminds me of Thor's Hammer from 1988 and I LOVE IT!
That would make such a cool gift for my daughter. I need to try to make one with my powertig welder.

That would be a great new challenge topic for the instagram welding, machining and maker communities! 👍🏼👍🏼 Nice Work Jody!!
Thanks Mike...but Alex Brown @cavemanwelder set the bar pretty high for making hammers.
Great video! I can't get over how cool it looks!
Jody, that was beautiful work!
So are you really going to use that piece of art??? Too beautiful to be used!!! Great job man.
Great Video Jody, I wish I was a grandson and was getting one... have to try out my skills and build my own...

I wouldn't want to hit anything with that... it looks too awesome/pristine to scuff up. Good job!
Cool project, maybe the best one yet!
That hammer looks awesome! I might have to try making one of those. Good silicon bronze practice. Love your videos and love my tig fingers!
Excellent video and awesome hammer. Looks like we use the same kind of bandage
Awesome Thor deadblo , by the way I enjoyed the tig finger Pak , I'm using them for mig welding BTW ,it took 6 days to get them ,I understand there were some snow storms interfering with mail service
So Awesome! Great job Jody.
Great video Jody!!!!
Great looking hammer!
LOL.....Jody.....I see we have the same doctoring skills. A piece of paper towel and black tape makes a quick band aid so you can keep on going. :)
Thanks Jody
Beautiful work
Hey Jody, Nice haircut!
That Tig Finger is a great idea. I still remember gritting my teeth as the pain in my fingers mounted while qualifying to weld government contract parts at the foundry that employed me for 40 years. I may pass on your information to those who took my place.
Great job, keep us posted on how it works.
beautiful welds
I like your style, Jody!
I love these videos and great ideas I get from watching. Now to find materials
Funny how fashioned the Nordic Gods suddenly has become.
As a scandinavian, i find that kind of cool.
I eagerly await your videos, so much information to digest. Thanks for sharing your skill with your fellow welders.
Put a piece of rubber pad in the cap, and place your punch in point to the bottom so it will stay sharp !
great store products too, tig finger is great as well as the video sets,, thanks ,,
That turned out awesome Jody. If that WD-40 does not work, try Boeshield it works well, good for your tables too.
Its nice to see you make a video where you make something. Good job on the hammer btw. Looks great!! You should add that to the shop. I'd buy one. Minus the bb's. Save on shipping weight! 😜 cheers Jody!!!
Really nice hammer that's for sure. Not plugging that handle sounds exactly like one of my escapades. Needs a hand forged center punch now.
cringe factor 3....when you put the rusty centerpunch into that sweet shiny pearl of a hammer! granted the handle is just iron pipe, but appearance wise i wish you'd shined that punch up. better yet face the punch with bronze, if thats not a bad idea that is.... that said, I love your videos. you do a great job and throw out lots of helpful advice. always looking forward to seeing new installments. i'd credit you with my newfound interest in cup shapes, gas lenses, and dual-shield flux core welding.
Wow Jody! That came out perfect 👌! Might have to make my own!
Thanks Jody! at first I thought you were using a TIG finger to bandage your hand...
Awesome hammer Jody. i need one in my life
awesome job Jody. love your videos.
Great job! Excellent! You should offer them for sale.
William Garrett he did just explain how to make it yourself
I have a tig finger, worth every penny
That's just a work of art. Really too nice to use as a hammer. :-)
You have great content thank you. Also the podcast is awesome. keep up the great work. you're out of paper towels.
Great project and video.
Damn that looks nice. I definitely need to improve my grinder skills until I can do that.
Very nice Jody!
That is the sickest goddamned hammer I’ve ever seen!
Great project! I noticed the typical mechanics bandage! Paper towel and electrical tape!!!
yep, I cut the crap out of my thumb and couldnt get it to stop bleeding. paper towel did the trick
Great video! Nice hammer. I think it looks great, except the aluminum cap on the top. Love your videos.
Awesome hammer 🔨 I like it . Great video as always
