Honest question, if that 73-9 teams add a Paul George instead of KD, do they still have a good chance? If yes, then KD needed warriors more than they needed him. He’s never been a title favorite since then
As a hooper, KD’s move is significantly worse than Bron. As bad as it looked like for Bron, the best player at that time, to leave and team up someplace else, KD leaving a championship contender for the team that just eliminated them just screams “I want it easy” much much louder. CLE was a contender solely because of Bron for years. At least he had a reason to leave unlike KD.
@@abluminberg solely because of him. Finals in 07, deep runs after but couldn’t get the job done. He clearly needed help. Meanwhile KD was in an even better position coz he had a legit running mate in Russ and a competent FO (even when they dropped the ball on Harden they remained a powerhouse in the West). They were up 3-1 vs the best team that year but just couldn’t finish the job. How do you NOT feel so bad about losing that series and NOT want to go at those mfs again?!
@@abluminberg I agree. Even when CLE was top seed, it was a 3-team race in the East or if we’re being honest, BOS vs ORL vs Bron. KD and OKC on the other hand was among the best teams in the West consistently, especially that 2016 run.
But I clearly hear him talking about the KD in the beginning. I was expected to have to be quiet until something about fighting happened. But that's not what happened. So what are you talking about
@CousinPreemo the joke on me 🤣🤣🤣that wasn't the first and only time he said something so he was in the convo 🤷🏿♂️but you are the joke because that's shit was ass
And he had great teams before. That team with Westbrook and Harden was tough. Even tho they were younger kd had similar experience to a guy like Ant Edwards does now but with more talent on his team. Even that 2016 team was great, setting aside the team records, those teams looked pretty fairly matched on paper.
Rashad trying to pretend like warriors calling KD is not a problem when he know DAMN well if it was LeBron that called KD in 2016 to come to the Cavs, he'd be the main one blaming Bron for that weak ish
The point is the players on the warriors should be looked at as weak for running and getting help from the 2nd best player at the time. The Cavs came back with the same team. He means they could have came back that year and beat the Cavs. It wasn't a guarantee the Cavs would win. But shit who wouldn't have gotten KD if they could at that time. And don't forget he was the best player on those 2 championships.
If anything Steph saved KD legacy. If Steph says “nah i don’t want KD “ he wouldn’t have a championship. He’s been getting his ass kicked since he left golden state. Steph has been doing just fine lol
Thats the craziest part. Kd is the greatest player to nvr win a ring if he nvr joins GS. Also I hate the narrative cavs automatically win if kd doesn't go bc GS replace kd with any other top 10 sf at the time and I see them still winning those bck2bck championships

It's not about credit. It's about respect. OKC blew a 3-1 lead just like golden state but unlike KD, Steph didn't leave his team to join the team that whooped his ass. Also Steph won before KD and after KD. WITHOUT Steph, KD has NO rings
It's normal to recruit somebody. How many times LeGm did that? KD was a free agency that time of course any other team can recruit him but the warriors had the best chance to sign him that time because warriors can bring him the ring that he wants. And guess what. When KD left he can't have a ring no more.
it's hilarious that the Warriors as an organization are being ridiculed for signing KD. If KD wants to sign with you, and you say no because of the media or the judgement, you're a TERRIBLE owner and GM lol
Just a testament to Steph, tbh. Everyone cried so hard saying they broke the league when the Warriors won the KD lottery. Meanwhile we've had stacked ass teams since then and no one bats an eye.
These dumb fans have used this rubbish argument for nearly a decade. It still makes ZERO sense to me. There were stacked team before and after - none of them as elite as 2016-19 Warriors. You could argue all day - KD went to Warriors because they found their final piece to be the cheat code. The league didn't like it, because it pissed every other fanbases.
@@LeetraviusMcKay-q6mnaw even during the kd era there were sum good teams any team that kd went to would’ve instantly won 😭but golden state js had the best pg at the moment
Exactly what I came to say. There's a very good chance that the Warriors would have won those same two titles without KD. Nobody takes anything away from Shaq's from title in Miami. Nobody tries to take away from KG's title with the Celtics even though he joined Pierce's team. It doesn't mean KD isn't a great player. He is but you also have to be real
Steph won before KD and after KD. Without KD, Steph still has 2 chips, still the greatest shooter of all time, still gets 1 FMVP, still has the only unanimous MVP in history, still has the best regular season record in history...Basically instead of a top 10 resume, steph has a top 15 resume without KD. Without Steph, KD...is James Harden...Allen Iverson...an all time great scorer with nothing resume wise to put him in any important conversations. Without Steph, KD has a worse all time resume than Kyrie Irving. That super team did WAY more for KDs legacy than it did for Steph.
@@darrieuslewis1920 It’s still soft. Do people understand how many championships LeBron with have if the best players available went to play with him? So and that team could have failed as well. We have seen too many examples of super teams forming the first year and fail. Bucks and Dame, Houston and CP3, Brooklyn and KD, LeBron with D Wade, Derrick rose, Kevin Love in Cleveland and etc.

If the Warriors had upgraded to someone between Harrison Barnes and KD instead of KD, Curry could still have 4 rings. If it wasn’t for two potential career ending injuries, the KD Warriors would have three. Curry‘s a foundational team piece that you can build around. KD is the ultimate final piece for any team, but he can’t win you a championship without a solid enough foundation.
This is true for every player though, Jordan needed rebounds and post defense because he's a guard. LeBron needs spacing to compliment his driving and passing. Kareem needed a PG to lead the offense and pass well. Unless I'm missing your point, a superstar needs their supporting cast otherwise you end up with 04 Pistons beating the Lakers
@@idk5916 I think Steph elevates his teammate more, like Lebron does for his teams. KD is such a talent, he might not understand how to make his teammates better but nothing is stopping KD from getting 30+ at will. Also, the Warriors as a team was in a better position to keep winning the Thunder as a team at the time, so the comment about Steph still have 4 rings is mostly about team/org. But I also think KD earned three rings but only got two. But I think KD made the right choice to go to GSW. As a top 10 or top 15 player of all time, you don’t pass up the chance to play with another one. Watching Steph, KD and Lebron share the court during the Olympics was something special

@@iamrysheemI don’t think Steph needs Draymond and Klay. They compliment him perfectly, but he doesn’t need them. He could do what he does with any team that runs that system for him. I mean we remember who didn’t play that whole series 😂Draymond green said HIMSELF he called KD and he KD came and helped them win 2 straight, ya really believe GS was beating The Cavs without KD? 😂😂😂
@@PaperChaserLa I can't say if GS would have won 2 stragiht without KD. That would be speculation about what would have happened. One could speculate that if Draymond didn't go down(suspended I think), they beat the CAVS in that series. The facts are GS was a championship team before KD. They were a championship team with KD. They were a championship team after KD. That's documented. What's also documented is that KD has not led a team to or won a championship in OKC, Bklyn or Phx. None of that is a narrative.
