I still struggle with trying to catch fish with artificial lures, and even with the slam scent I still don't catch anything. But I'm learning that fish in the heat of summer are not on the flats but in deeper water. Now I'm trying to learn from my mistakes, and why are there so many little bait fish on the flats even during the heat of the day. I thought they too so into deeper water.?
Don’t give up, keep tweaking your set up. Get different weighted jigheads, with hooks sizes that match the bait profile of your lures. P.S. try using the lightest possible weight while still having your bait able dive. I have noticed most people are using heavier gear than recommended, from the rod all the way to the line they use. I would recommend checking out Zman curly tail type baits 4in and 2in pearl color, easiest lure to use if you have selected the right weighted jighead. Once you figure it out you will no longer be tied down to the need for live bait.
Here in the Chesapeake my Power Prawns get bites from everything, so they're getting shredded by tail biters. They must be convincing to fish. I would really like to try your soft plastics in glow in the dark color for deep water or night time. Glow Z Man stuff has been getting me butes at night lately and if I could get 2.0 paddle tails, flukes and Power Prawns that glow I would buy them.
I mostly use the skip technique as it mimicking shrimp trying escape fish. And on most catches....are when it starts to settle back in water. Wish could attach pic show the catches. PPUSA great
Anyone have a suggestion on what to do or to change when you're getting the tails of shrimp lures getting bitten off. I tried changing color, size, faster and slower retrieval. I'm fishing in NC for reds and trout.
We new have two versions of Power Prawn lures. This version from Brazil is made from the very strong TPE material making them very tough. The Power Prawn USA lures are made from a soft yet more dense material making them much easier to rig and cast (especially for skip casting under docks/trees). Both are excellent lures! Check them both out at fishstrong.com
Get the Power Prawn U.S.A.: bit.ly/3PDEoao
I love the way you call them “fake” lures. It’s So honest and they work So well. As long as the Precipitation is right.
Thanks for watching!
The most important thing is having confidence in whatever you’re throwing too, especially for Artificial lures.
Great question! Make sure to ask this over in the Community (www.saltstrong.com/) where the coaches spend their time.

Summer in south Texas is the toughest season to fish in my opinion.

I should be joining at the beginning of the year… have yall tried the power prawn on a popping cork?
We have and it works great! Thanks for your interest in joining and email us at fish@saltstrong.com if we can help answer any questions!
The design has changed. Why? I thought the segmented body was what made it so good.
