- Crossed Swords (Arcade) All Bosses (No Damage). It is a hack & slash action RPG arcade game developed by Alpha Denshi and published by SNK. It was released for the Neo Geo arcade system in July 1991 and later on Neo Geo console in October of the same year.

That last boss fight dragged on....I was glad when it was done. The other boss fights weren't so bad though. Awesome job as always!!
I can see this takes inspiration from Punch-Out style combat as a source point, and in this I can see the makings of the gameplay that would become more refined sword-action games like Die By The Sword & Dragon Quest Swords.

This game is so much fun , especially with 2 players. It's pretty long or feels that way . Played this in arcade all the time, about to load up MAME lol.
One of my favorite games of all time.
Good game overall, last boss was somewhat of a marathon, the time it was health bar was blue till it started changing must be unerving to anyone playing at the time and be suprised if they weren't thinking 'I'm I actually making any damage?'
I'll be searching for full gameplay of this as it looks fun with some good designs.
One thing I find cheap but also cool, is that the final boss' attacks, you can't block them. You can only avoid them out of range because they're Diagonal Attacks.
This game looks awesome!
The bad thing about this game is that you can always DEFEND with shield to avoid being hit.
They should have made the enemies able to crush the defence if you keep shielding, with a 1.5 seconds delayed warning, and then attack your for 1.5x the damage.
So you need to keep moving your position instead of just keep shielding.

Always saw this in the arcade way back but never played it because it was 2 quarters. I see some similarities to Magician Lord in some of the bosses like the centipede and the fish looking guy.
Did you use MAME for this? If so how are your settings and where should I go looking for games like this? I can't get MAME working for the life of me.

I don't know if you've played this game before, Shadowsweg, but, it's a game I was intrigued by, a fighting game where you play as warrior turned into an anthro lion, on a quest to break your curse, you fight through various enemies, with the final boss being some kind of evil sorcerer/god! I sadly can't recall the name of said game, but perhaps you know what it's called?

I remember playing this with my brother, we managed to get in the final boss but we couldn't beat it lol
I honestly wish that the Scarecrow Sword did something special for actually keeping it through the entire game. Even the swordsmith lady who gives you the sword, says you must defeat him with that sword, but it does so little damage even at max power. Quite unfortunately if you ask me.
Though least with some of the boss fights, such as Goat Redstill/Satan Goat, Captain Bakslay, and Nausizz AKA the Devil, being some of the best combat and huge skill gap for those compared to the other enemies. All the gameplay I've seen, I don't know how these players tend to get lucky with the enemies not blocking as much or using special blocks to block all attacks.

You make this game looks easy but it's not. Enemies are fast (tho sometimes predictable), you'll need pretty good reflexes just to get anywhere.
This is like Taito's gladiator and punchout combined.
I honestly like the gameplay watching.

Pretty fun game, but having your character being shown as a bunch of lines, so the player can better see the enemies wasn't really necessary IMO.
