I was actually playing around the other day with them both. Yes, Autoshift definitely introduces some artifacts. I'd say it has a "warm tape" feel to it - kind of liked that dirty sound at first, but quickly realized that it's not meant for every vocal use. Whereas, with Antares Autotune - it introduces a pleasant "Clean Tube" feel with every vocal performance.
I agree, AutoTune cleanly tunes the vocal. AutoShift darkens & digitizes the sound with tuning. Unwanted artifacts & clicks don't happen to me as often using AutoTune Pro. However, AutoShift can definitely be useful for background vocals or things that don't need the presence of a modern pop lead vocal.
@ReidStefanMusic 100% correct. Im sure they will nail it with future updates. This got me thinking: Do a comparison between Logic Pitch Correction, FL Studio Pitcher and Autoshift. Then maybe a separate video between Logic Flex Pitch, FL Studio Newtone and Antares Graph Mode?
@@ashmidnytcomparing auto pitch correction plugins is easy, but comparing manual pitch correction softwares is somewhat of a waste of time, because the results will always favor whichever software you personally know best.

Im in a similar position, was hoping for a black friday upgrade discount, but also been looking into 12 for the midi tools (transformation and generation look really useful). 12 vs 11 didnt seem all that impressive at launch, not like 11 vs 10 was, but now it seems like 12.1 vs 11.3.35 and up is worth the cost for me at least.
