I really like it. However after about 5-10 minutes it starts lagging. I got a good pc and don't have this issue regardless of plugins on Maschine 2 when making the music. Any thoughts as to why it starts lagging? The sound is still okay but the meters all become not fluid at all.
@@badhabit I did. Very refreshing to see someone not trying to sell me something. You relayed great points effectively, were very personable, seemed extremely knowledgeable about your subject matter and if I am not wrong - didn't ask us to Buy anything at all! Very refreshing video! The 1 thing that you touched on but gives beginners a Big issue is importing a sample with a bpm of say, 100 (which it says down under the Warp section) but, your project is at say, 125. That really messes people up I have found. Might be a subject for you one day. All of that said: Liked/Subbed and all that. Peace brotha!
I would love if one day in future you publish full course for ableton, you really explain things well and smooth to the point I don’t get bored at all 🙌
For tip #1, I won't say you don't need it. Depends on your main use case. I am both a producer and mix engineer but I mix way more than I produce. Fades on audio clips are necessary because I don't need to worry about the clicks that the audio files make when they are absent. I can cut my audio anywhere and dont need to manually fade my ends unless I need a different length of fade. Since I don't produce by dragging audio, it's more necessary for me to keep fades on... For people who mix in Ableton, it will be important to have.
super thorough breakdowns,, actually stuff i'm sure lots of us knew but either forgot over switching or upgrading to different versions-, thanks for taking the time brother,,- very helpful..
Thank you so much man, most usefull vid I've seen in a while, Ive had latency problems with my midi keyboard for years and couldn't find the answer, but its gotten much better now
Do you stay exclusively in Ableton? Or do you use a hybrid? Like, lately I tend to use Ableton for producing and then I move everything over into ProTools to mix. Do you just stay in Ableton?
hey thanks so much, glad you liked it! 😁 the masterclass is a production masterclass! It's linked in my description, it'll bring you to Studio which is the platform where I'm selling it. It's not about warping only, more about producing a song from scratch! but while I do I talk about the way I edit audio and you just see me do it throughout the whole process, hope you'll enjoy it!
You need to do an Ableton Mega Masterclass and go through everything. I'd buy it. Thanks for the info. Just picked up the new new UA Apollo X Duo Gen 2 would be sweet to get a video on how to load the UA plug ins and tips and tricks for Ableton + UA
I actually have a production masterclass, if you’re interested check out the link in the description! 🙏 BUT I will definitely think about making one focused on Ableton, thanks for the idea man!!
Generally speaking yes but you never know. For example maybe you have a stomp kick, and it could be cool to have some of its frequencies stereo. Let’s say, you should aim to having low frequencies mono!
the fact i heard that vocal sample in a song and hearing it here is just like damn but amazing video i just started working in ableton from fl and its a huge difference of what you can do with just what it comes with out the box
Didn't know that about Simpler Modes! Thanks! The best way to notice what warping modes do is messing it up! A advice: you could lower the music a bit, it's making it harder to understand you
Fades on clips is on by default because its so useful. Without it, every time you cut a clip, you have to manually add a fade so the audio doesnt click. Pretty much standard on most DAWS
Great video bro and glad to found your channel. I am using the latest ableton 12 with asio4all and when i switch sample rate in ableton from 44100 to 48000 my latency went down instead of up...... weird but i dont mind but needs some testing indeed. The higher i set the sample rate the lower the latency gets...... its like the upside down world.
@ it’s more demanding on your computer that is true, but that doesn’t mean the latency should increase. More cpu usage is not directly affecting the latency, it’s just affecting how efficient your computer will be! But if you have a powerful one it’ll handle it
@@jared_musicSTC of course yeah, but I’d rather add them myself when I need them and make sure my one shots are not faded in when I drag them into the project! That’s what works for me at least
I import stems created on Tascam 12 and don't know the BPM, not always 4/4 and they don't all start at the same time. Abelton always imposes it's own BPM, 4/4 and starts the stem in the wrong position. It's completely wrong and I waste too much time trying to fix it. How do I stop Abelton from doing this and make it work like a tape recorder?
hmm that's a different story. I would un-warp all the samples, or just set "do not warp long samples" and probably try to align them manually. You maybe ned some sort of count in to be able to align them, that's what I would do! Once you have aligned them and fixed the time signature, THEN activate the warp, so at that point you should be able to change tempo and all, hope it helps!
@@badhabit Thanks for the ideas. I did try to line up some parts manually but the biggest problem with a long composition is getting a part back in the spot it was originally played. Luckily the Tascam recorded the reverb track that I could use as a guide where things went. I'll try reloading everything using your ideas with warp. Cheers.
I really like the video. Thanks for the great tips. I have one request, please just leave out the background music. It's difficult to concentrate when the music is playing all the time. Thank you very much
