I’ve got a cool story about Eddie Vedder. First I worked for an insurance company back in the day in the special lines field and remember actually speaking to Eddie about his boat policy! He said enjoyed calling instead of his agent! Very down to Earth and later we were able to meet at a Seattle Pearl Jam show so he was able to put a face to the voice on the phone 📱. ILL NEVER FORGET IT! RIP CHRIS CORNELL. The Seattle scene in the early 1990’s is unsurpassed by anything going on today!
Director Cameron Crowe's 1992 film "Singles" brings a lot of what the grunge scene was like in Seattle. Including appearances by Cornell and Vedder. It is worth seeing to understand the context in which this style of rock was born.
I could listen to Chris Cornell's voice all day! He has such an incredible range and so much emotion. You have to listen to his version of "Nothing Compares 2U" , RIP Chris. As for Eddie Vedder I adore his voice! He is another singer that sings with so much passion. He is an icon and well deserved!
Glad you got a reunion with your friend. I'm sure you had a great time catching up. I love the interplay with their voices in this song. It's very powerful. R.I.P. Chris Cornell.
If you haven’t you should give PJ20 a watch. It’s got some great footage of these two together, Chris was like a big brother to Ed when he first came up to Seattle.
Love how these old songs I love bring people together. With love. 1000 blessings upon you both. In the Irish "May you be in heaven for 40 years before the devil knows youre dead." Thank you.
So Temple of the Dog , was a Chris Cornell solo project that was dedicated to his friend Andrew Wood , who was the lead singer of Mother Love Bone , he had just died and his band was in shambles. Chris put this project together with the member of Mother Love Bone. Did the album and a tour , and this is how Eddie Vedder met Stone Gossard and they formed Pearl Jam out of this very project. This is an incredible album and project. Just thought you might want the back ground on the whole deal! Before this Eddie was not singing!
"this is how Eddie Vedder met Stone Gossard and they formed Pearl Jam" ehhh not really. stone and jeff flew eddie over to seattle after he added his voice to a mix tape with some song ideas stone had. the mix tape was shared to eddie by jack irons.
Yeah nah. After Andy died Stone eventually hooked up with Mike McCready and then they brought Jeff in (Stone and Jeff having been in MLB & Green River together). They made a demo tape with Matt Cameron (of Soundgarden and later Pearl Jam) on drums. They asked Jack Irons (former RHCP drummer) to join but he declined, they asked if he knew any singers and he suggested his friend Eddie Vedder. Eddie had been in a number of bands before, including Indian Style with Brad Wilk (RAtM & Audioslave drummer), and Bad Radio. Ed listened to the instrumental demo tape, wrote lyrics for 3 songs (the Momma-Son trilogy) sent it to the guys and they flew him to Seattle (from San Diego) to jam. During this time Stone, Jeff and Mike were working with Chris and Matt on the TotD project. One day during TotD rehearsal, while waiting for PJ rehearsal Eddie noticed Chris having trouble getting Hunger Strike the way he wanted and so Ed walked up and started singing it, Chris liked it and asked him to share vocals on the track. Because the TotD album was released before PJ’s debut it ended up being the first time Eddie was singing on a proper record.
Chris. never forgotten. It is also synchronistic that this is Father's Day, I used to listen to this song with my Dad while we drove to Pennsylvania for our church delivering food to church members that were way off grid. Happy Fathers Dad Dad, not a day goes by I don't think about you old man and miss ya big time.

Having lived 5 yrs in Mexico, it's fun to listen to a Mexicana speaking such good English with just a touch of a south-of-the-border accent! ¡Bienvenidos!
TEMPLE OF THE DOG is a band that made this album to honor Andrew Wood from Mother Love Bone. If you didnt know he was the singer and the rest of the band was the members of Pearl Jam. Andrew died and Eddie Vedder joined the band and Peal Jam was born. Andrew Wood died before their album came out but was an amazing singer! Please react to Chole Dancer by MLB.

Fun reaction! Chris is my favorite. Have u ever heard his solo song ‘When I’m Down’. I think you and Nick will love it but you must must do the Live at the Troubadour version. Just him and great piano player. So good!!!!🙂
So we need Nick to pre-record a mention of Holdsworth of course. (Yes of course that's a joke). I watch Lu just melt as soon as Vedder comes in, it's adorable. I bought the record for the Soundgarden component, myself. Reach Down is my favorite Temple of the Dog song. Of course this is great too!

It is so much fun to watch 2 beautiful ladies & bff's listen to music. I wish had thought to recommend a song by Return To Forever when Lu was still in town. The song is called "Hello Again" it is on the Musicmagic album. I played it for a group of my friends that I hadn't seen in a couple of years.
